This clip doesn't do him justice. Peter Allen was a great live performer. He was perhaps the last great song and dance man. He wrote from the heart and won awards around the world. I met him once behind the Savoy Theatre in NYC after a performance in July of 1981. I have met many big names in my life, but few stars. An autographed poster from that appearance remains in my home today. It may well be the only thing I would carry out a fire. Rest in peace, and thank you for teaching us if you can't hide it, decorate it!

Thank you whomever posted this, it made MY day. I live in Denver (yuk) and miss NY so much I could spit! This brought me back there, saw him perform, a genius.

Thank you for this great clip. Peter's last performances were in Australia at the Sydney Hilton Hotel, where he became too ill to go on -- having to cancel his run and returned to NYC for treatment. He was scheduled to appear on a cruise ship just after his Australia run. My agent got me booked on the same ship at my request so I could work with him -- Peter had never seen me live. Sadly, Peter had to cancel the booking due to him returning to NYC for treatment.

Amazing that we now know that dear Peter would pass only 9 months later. I think his spirit and energy by being on stage prevented the virus from taking him down! Rest in peace, dear friend and "fade to black."

Marty Pasetta Productions used Peter Allen for two game show pilots in the early 90s: a revival of Name that Tune that never made it to series(although a Phillips interactive CD-i game in 1993 hosted by Bob Goen was based on that format), and the Hollywood Game, which Bob Goen ended up hosting for four weeks on CBS primetime in Summer 1992. Peter Allen died the day the Hollywood Game debuted on CBS.
