Oxford Union Website @ www.oxford-union.org/
Peter Atkins, former Professor of Chemistry at Oxford, concludes the debate by describing Islam along with all other religions as a "supermarket of ideas and instructions" from which good and bad men can select what they want "according to their taste."
However, he claims that Islam "does in practice inspire more violence than the other Abrahamic religions".
Taking on Adam Deen's metaphor of a 'golden thread', he argues that "the opposite of peace is woven into the fabric of the Qur'an."
Atkins declares that "all the seas incarnadine cannot wash the blood from a religion's hands", because "when evils destroy a human life, as they did yesterday, that life cannot be restored". He calls on the audience to oppose the motion "for the sake of humanity."
MOTION: THIS HOUSE BELIEVES ISLAM IS A RELIGION OF PEACE.

Questions: 1- Qur'an teaches peace and freedom of opinion. I agree. But why do some Islamic countries have the "death for apostasy" law? 2- If those Islamic countries have made up the "death for apostasy" law on their own and are misrepresenting Qur'an, then isn't it the responsibility of Muslims to persuade them to stop misrepresenting Qur'an by abolishing the "death for apostasy" law? 3- Wouldn't be easier to promote Islam in non-Islamic countries when no "death for apostasy" law exists in the currently Islamic countries? 4- What guarantees that promoting a peaceful Islam in a non-Islamic country will not eventually lead to "death for apostasy" law after it becomes an Islamic country?
@zaydmia5097
@zaydmia5097 10 жыл бұрын
They misinterpreted a statement of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). The "death for apostasy" was made because in the early days of Islam it was a war on the state and the "apostates" apostatized because they did not want to follow the law and become the leaders of the Caliphate unjustly.
@AtamMardes
@AtamMardes 10 жыл бұрын

Islam has death penalty for apostasy and it's procedure is if one muslim converts to some other religion. Then scholars of islam will say to that man to come back to islam if you will not come back then argue with us and let's have a discussion to find which religion is true, I mean that which religion is valid to be followed. If he can prove that the new religion is better then the new religion is valid to be followed but if can't then the scholars of islam will prove to him that islam is the only valid true religion which is must to be followed to go to paradise in the Hereafter. Islam is the only religion which can answer all the questions which can come in your mind. The scholars will convince him for three days to take him back to islam. And if he doesn't come he will be sentenced to death penalty. All those are bullying on Islam are those who don't know about islam and whoever gain the true knowledge of islam converts to islam. Just search and listen to those who converted to islam are the highly educated intelligent men in Europe and America and those converted to some other religion from islam they are those who are uneducated and those who don't have the knowledge of Islam. So my friend feel the difference.

Hello, I really appreciate you for asking questions rather than badmouthing like some others on here. Personally, I would recommend that you actually do some more research on this yourself as it might help you come up with an idea of why it exists. However, I will try to answer your question and if it makes sense to you great! if not, well no one can change that. First let me start off by explaining what this law really is and why it is in place in Islamic states. The "death for apostasy" law came into use when atheists and polytheists at the time of the holy prophet(pbuh) used to seemingly convert to Islam and then leave Islam just to spread hate and denounce it amongst the masses. “And a section of the people of Book says, ‘believe at day-break in what has been sent down to those who believe and deny at the day-end; perhaps they may turn away.’” (Qur’an 3:72). They did this because they had extreme animosity towards the prophet(pbuh) they did not like that the Holy Prophet(pbuh) was changing their wild ways and showing them decency, gratefulness etc. Another important thing that I want to mention is that this law only comes into affect when the apostasy becomes public. This is where your freedom of thinking and freedom of opinion/expression separate. You have no limits freedom of thought, however when you start taking action on it it becomes your deed and hence if you become apostate and keep to yourself this law does not apply, if you go out in the public denouncing Islam; spreading lies, hate and encouraging others around you to leave the religion, it results in this law being applied. 1)You are absolutely correct, Islam does teach peace and freedom of opinion, however, freedom of opinion/expression has to remain within the confines of the state in which you reside. For instance, if you are in a proper Islamic state you have to go by their laws, if you are in a western state, you have to follow their laws. The Islamic countries have to keep this law since it is told by the Holy Quran. 2)No these Islamic countries have not made up this law, hence no Muslim denies it because they themselves know it exists. 3)Im not sure I understand this question.. please do reply to me with a clearer explanation. 4)Who says non-Islamic countries will become Islamic countries so soon? or ever? It is not like Islam is being spread and Muslims are trying to take over each and every country..... Come on. Just to answer your question though.. if a country does "decide" to become an Islamic country it will definitely have the "death for apostasy" law. No guarantee that it will not. I know to an outsider it might seem very opressive and destructive of the freedom of a person, but when you get to know of the reasoning and conditions of this law it becomes very clear. Remember that Islam is a very "just" religion so every action is counted for. Also, don't just get stuck looking at Islam through this law... It is a very small detail compared to what the whole of Islam actually is.

I see in the 'About' section that 286 voted that Islam is a religion of peace and 168 voted that Islam is NOT a religion of peace. My understanding is also that this event is one held by the prestigious Oxford University. I see this as evidence that leftists have truly destroyed some if not all of the great educational institutions. Because this 'issue' is not actually a truly debatable one. To be of the opinion that Islam is peaceful is to be completely ignorant of Islam. From it's founding 'prophet' in the 7th century to the current year of 2014, Islam has been and is a religion of violence, murder, rape, oppression, conquest, intolerance, deception, and destruction. There is so much evidence of this that a 'post' is nowhere close to sufficient as a medium to carry this knowledge. Because there are mountains of material evidence that can be brought to bear. I believe the confusion occurs when we hear the cliché that it is just a tiny fringe group of extremists that make Islam look bad. This is the great lie that is allowing Islam to flourish. As I said I don't have near enough space for all the proofs, but ask yourself this question; how often do you see this question debated with the subject being atheism, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, or any other belief system? There is a reason for that........ Want more on the vile filth of Islam? post me back.

Would you like to be the one to share the response of Muhammad in your next post? Do you deny that the Islamic caliphate was built on wars of conquest against the infidel in accordance with the teachings of your "prophet"? Do you deny your religion has the death penalty for apostasy? How do you feel about all the lives lost due to the worldwide riots over cartoons? If you like I can send you some lovely links to Imam describes the proper beating of wives, Qur'an quotes that call for violence, or perhaps you'd like to tell me the penalty in the Islamic state of Iran for "acts of homosexuality? True humans have long believed in gods. All were invented. Thor, Amon Ra, Zeus, El, Tlaloc + many thousands of Earth, Rain Fire gods etc. As for the grave, ask yourself before you were born was it any amount of time? did you suffer? NO. When we die we return to this same eternal state. Eternity has nothing to do with time. It is outside to time.Hell, like heaven, is another human concept usually used to install fear. There is not literal place called hell. You can test this by looking for it on google maps. You know there is no Allah. Allah can literally do nothing. Test this by asking this most merciful and passionate god to stop others killing in his name. Surely the greatest insult! Or to heal the sick. It won't literally happen since Allah is no more than a made up ideal like all of mankind gods. I do actually study the Quran / Bible and other religious texts. I agree with you on one point. @@westsideslasha Dude that's like saying "OMG they killed people during war times! How horrible!" These are, as @Dragon_Gaming said, meant for war times. If someone is attacking you you fight back so you don't, uhh, die? Quran 8:12, in its entirety, is "[Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip." We wish to be strong in the face of opposition. Words of encouragement are not signs of a war-mongering religion. "And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." I simply can't believe that you left that last part out. IF THEY REPENT YOU FORGIVE. Such a horrible religion, how could they forgive and release prisoners that apologize? A non-peaceful religion would not have 4 whole months where you are not allowed to be non-peaceful (sacred months). Don' just point at things you have to look at context as well. "Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled." Fight against the non-Muslims in war times, how unexpected. Of course YOU SHOULD FIGHT YOUR ENEMY. If they attack you attack back. "It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although they who associate others with Allah dislike it." What kind of religion says it ISN'T the true religion. Christians believe that they are "the" faith. Jews believe THEY are "the" faith. Hindus believe they are "the" faith. Muslims believe they are "the" faith. What's non-peaceful about that? " O Prophet, fight against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be harsh upon them. And their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the destination." Be harsh upon your enemies in wartime, we are not pacifist, we use violence is certain contexts like Mehdi Hasan said. Please, show me more.

The Armenian genocide was not based on religious beliefs, it was a conspiracy by the famously incompetent Enver Pasha to blame the Armenians for his poor military skills. Peter Singer (one of the world’s leading atheist ideologues) shows that determining sex to be licit on the basis of “consent” also justifies bestiality. Around the year 2000, Singer was criticized for his positive review of a book by Midas Dekkers called Dearest Pet. Dekkers is a popular Dutch intellectual public figure who was initially a biologist. He is known for his particular affection towards animals. Singer was accused of advocating for bestiality as well, because he said that the issue with sex with animals is not so much related to morality but rather cruelty. He argues that if there is no cruelty, a person can take part in “mutually satisfying activities” with their animal.

If you had bothered to read the very next verse (5:33), you'd have seen this peaceful gem: "Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and spread mischief in the land is death, crucifixion, cutting off their hands and feet on opposite sides, or exile from the land." One might ask: 'What does spreading mischief mean?' Well thankfully, the Quran elaborates, in surah 4:89 it says: "They wish you would disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so you may all be alike. So do not take them as allies unless they emigrate in the cause of Allah. But if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them" - so the quran orders the execution of apostates who leave islam and try to convince others to do the same. (2) You same some rubbish about chopping off hands depending on the society we live in. The Quran is supposed to be perfect is it not? So don't tell me following the quran depends on what society you live in. The society you live in does not change the inherent immorality of the quran's commandments.

My impression from Southeast Asia is that most Muslim immigrants in Europe had sought refuge from what they said were dangers back home. (Native Europeans can let me know.) But instead of being grateful recipients of a far-better civilization’s largesse, they presumed to instruct their hosts that the Islam that clearly produced the stagnation and barbarity they fled is a superior way of life, even God’s way. Their ingratitude itself is cause enough to return them to one or another Muslim country

It is unacceptable that people like this must question whether or not to make reasoned criticisms of Islam for the fear of violent repercussions in what is meant to be a free Democracy. Free speech without fear of aggressive responses, including death threats such as past fatwas, must be paramount over religion. And this is not in line with Islamic preaching.

Then we will ask them to become Muslims and if they refuse we will impose the jizya,” was that just cultural? You see what you want to see. In our times, it is easier to be fooled by the kind of information that comes to us. It's easier for someone to believe that sikhism is a peaceful religion, because of the acts of the believers. But I am sure that there could be loopholes and some faulty believers too. History speaks for itself. When it comes to religion, all of them are the same: they talk about the same principles and the way of life. Almost all start with the most basic axiom: God is one. So it boils down to how people interpret the teachings and more than that, how well are those interpretations broadcasted.

Your reference to Sikhism is amply amplified by the recent news of the killing of a Sikh in Canada. He was an extremist who believed in Khalistan - a land for the Sikhs. Let's put ISLAM on trial! If every standard by which the West is judged and condemned (slavery, imperialism, intolerance, women's rights, sexuality, warfare...) were applied equally to Islam, the verdict would be absolutely devastating...GUILTY ON ALL ACCOUNTS! Look at ISLAMIC history... Islam never gives up what it conquers, be it religion, culture, language or life. Neither does it make apologies or any real effort at moral progress. ISLAM is the least open to dialogue and the most self-absorbed. ISLAM is convinced of its own perfection, yet brutally shuns self-examination and represses criticism. Let's debate if "islam is a religion of peace?" before MUSLIMS shut down the free flow of information because they can't win in the arena of COMMON SENSE!
@francinelast
@francinelast 10 жыл бұрын
Apples and Oranges.... You mustn't compare a religion (Islam), with a geographical area (the West). Compare religions, and in this, extreme religious belief and indoctrination, because very few people who practice Islam, commit crimes such as slavery, imperialism (where?), intolerance, women rights abuses, and warfare (well, Christianity and Judaism would easily win on the warfare front, simply because of their devastating weapons and the number of people they kill with them). Next: History.... Islam never gives up what it conquers? Do you have any knowledge of Christian territorial history at all? Wasn't America taken from the Native Americans by Christians and never given back? Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Israel????? All these countries are essentially Christian (or Jewish in the case of Israel), "have never given up what they conquered, be it religion, culture, language or life". Islam is convinced of its own perfection? Well of course, but then so is every other religion in the world. Do you mean, Muslims or the religion? If you mean Muslims, then you are wrong, because there are Muslims that question the doctrines, you just don't hear about them in the Western media.

The same religion where their “holy” Hadith says that women are intellectually inferior, and that they comprise the majority of Hell’s occupants? Seriously?
@ya0sef
@ya0sef 10 жыл бұрын
Ed Z give me one example where islam actually says that women are inferior? ... A man once came to Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and asked him "who is the person that should be dearest and closest to me?" Prophet Mohammed replied "Your Mother" , the man said "then who?" , Prophet Mohammed said "Your Mother" , the man said "and then who?" Prophet Mohammed said "Your Mother" the man said "Then who?" Prophet Mohammed finally said "Your Father"... this shows that Islam encourages people (Men or Women) to show their utmost respect to their Mothers who are women... another Hadith says "Heaven is under your Mother's feet" ... and many verses recite to the respect of Women, It'd take me months to post them all over here... The truth is that you are just "islamophobic" like the rest of the people over here.

The ancient scriptures of all the Abrahamic faiths (especially the Old Testament) are full of rape and abuse to women, not just the Quran. In many places in the Bible there are references to "taking a wife". Don't be fooled into thinking that these were voluntary marriages. This first quote clearly shows that murder and force were used to "take" these wives. 1) Murder, rape, and pillage at Jabesh-gilead (Judges 21:10-24 NLT) So they sent twelve thousand warriors to Jabesh-gilead with orders to kill everyone there, including women and children. "This is what you are to do," they said. "Completely destroy all the males and every woman who is not a virgin." Among the residents of Jabesh-gilead they found four hundred young virgins who had never slept with a man, and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh in the land of Canaan. The Israelite assembly sent a peace delegation to the little remnant of Benjamin who were living at the rock of Rimmon. Then the men of Benjamin returned to their homes, and the four hundred women of Jabesh-gilead who were spared were given to them as wives. But there were not enough women for all of them. The people felt sorry for Benjamin because the LORD had left this gap in the tribes of Israel. So the Israelite leaders asked, "How can we find wives for the few who remain, since all the women of the tribe of Benjamin are dead? There must be heirs for the survivors so that an entire tribe of Israel will not be lost forever. But we cannot give them our own daughters in marriage because we have sworn with a solemn oath that anyone who does this will fall under God's curse." Then they thought of the annual festival of the LORD held in Shiloh, between Lebonah and Bethel, along the east side of the road that goes from Bethel to Shechem. They told the men of Benjamin who still needed wives, "Go and hide in the vineyards. When the women of Shiloh come out for their dances, rush out from the vineyards, and each of you can take one of them home to be your wife! And when their fathers and brothers come to us in protest, we will tell them, 'Please be understanding. Let them have your daughters, for we didn't find enough wives for them when we destroyed Jabesh-gilead. And you are not guilty of breaking the vow since you did not give your daughters in marriage to them.'" So the men of Benjamin did as they were told. They kidnapped the women who took part in the celebration and carried them off to the land of their own inheritance. Then they rebuilt their towns and lived in them. So the assembly of Israel departed by tribes and families, and they returned to their own homes. Obviously these women were repeatedly raped. 2) Murder, rape and pillage of the Midianites (Numbers 31:7-18 NLT) They attacked Midian just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed all the men. All five of the Midianite kings - Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba - died in the battle. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword. Then the Israelite army captured the Midianite women and children and seized their cattle and flocks and all their wealth as plunder. They burned all the towns and villages where the Midianites had lived. After they had gathered the plunder and captives, both people and animals, they brought them all to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the whole community of Israel, which was camped on the plains of Moab beside the Jordan River, across from Jericho. Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the people went to meet them outside the camp. But Moses was furious with all the military commanders who had returned from the battle. "Why have you let all the women live?" he demanded. "These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people. Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves. Clearly Moses and God approves of rape of virgins. 3) More Murder Rape and Pillage (Deuteronomy 20:10-14) As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you. What kind of God approves of murder, rape, and slavery? 4) Laws of Rape (Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT) If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her. What kind of lunatic would make a rape victim marry her attacker? Answer: God. 5) Death to the Rape Victim (Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB) If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife. It is clear that God doesn't care about the rape victim. He is only concerned about the violation of another mans "property". 6) David's Punishment - Polygamy, Rape, Baby Killing, and God's "Forgiveness" (2 Samuel 12:11-14 NAB) Thus says the Lord: 'I will bring evil upon you out of your own house. I will take your wives [plural] while you live to see it, and will give them to your neighbor. He shall lie with your wives in broad daylight. You have done this deed in secret, but I will bring it about in the presence of all Israel, and with the sun looking down.' Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the Lord." Nathan answered David: "The Lord on his part has forgiven your sin: you shall not die. But since you have utterly spurned the Lord by this deed, the child born to you must surely die." [The child dies seven days later.] This has got to be one of the sickest quotes of the Bible. God himself brings the completely innocent rape victims to the rapist. And then he kills a child! 7) Rape of Female Captives (Deuteronomy 21:10-14 NAB) "When you go out to war against your enemies and the LORD, your God, delivers them into your hand, so that you take captives, if you see a comely woman among the captives and become so enamored of her that you wish to have her as wife, you may take her home to your house. But before she may live there, she must shave her head and pare her nails and lay aside her captive's garb. After she has mourned her father and mother for a full month, you may have relations with her, and you shall be her husband and she shall be your wife. However, if later on you lose your liking for her, you shall give her her freedom, if she wishes it; but you shall not sell her or enslave her, since she was married to you under compulsion." Once again God approves of forcible rape. 8) Rape and the Spoils of War (Judges 5:30 NAB) They must be dividing the spoils they took: there must be a damsel or two for each man, Spoils of dyed cloth as Sisera's spoil, an ornate shawl or two for me in the spoil. (Judges 5:30 NAB) 9) Sex Slaves (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT) When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT) 10) God Assists Rape and Plunder (Zechariah 14:1-2 NAB) Lo, a day shall come for the Lord when the spoils shall be divided in your midst. And I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle: the city shall be taken, houses plundered, women ravished; half of the city shall go into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be removed from the city. (Zechariah 14:1-2 NAB)

Countless people were unable to afford this charge in a country whose yearly per capita GDP is $915. Unfortunately, the IMF and World Bank are playing a key role in pushing water privatization all over the world. Many countries have been required to open up their water supply to private companies as a condition for receiving IMF loans, and the World Bank has approved millions of dollars in loans for the privatization of water systems.

💔❤️ I wish you the best. No child understands it’s wrong unless their parents tell them. It’s absolutely not our fault we were horrifically manipulated by sexual abusers when we were kids who played being nice to manipulate us and groom us to allow them to abuse us. 💔 I wish you the best. I hope we all heal from sexual abuse of people abusing us and also abuse from people telling us we weren’t beaten by sexual abusers and therefore it’s okay and that it was good when it was horrible manipulation. They even tried to blame my ex husband. It’s horrible how much people abuse and reabuse and traumatize. Why does child sexual abuse cause so much mental anguish, mental illness that it can cause trauma induced psychosis? Why do some people say it’s only biology, jiggly bits and nothing important when survivors all say it caused them so much loss and pain? Do some people survive child sexual abuse without issues and are not affected? I was affected only when I talked about it to therapists, family, friends, acquaintances who told each other and told everyone they know and all bullied me🥺 and caused my divorce and trauma induced psychosis. My mom even laughed when I told her I was sexually abused and made me think I’m a slut and that my ex husband was similar to sexual abusers which also other people tried to make me think. Telling people about trauma and about problems and about insecurities and about strengths and about thinking patterns is the same as telling them the code to destroy you for a long time or forever and also the code to ruin your marriage and all academic and career and financial and social goals. How do courts make sure that the people who are accused committed those crimes ? I finally found good therapy, good support groups after so many years of retraumatization and people telling me I should be dead already and that I’m a slut and dirty for having been sexually abused by men and women and a high school classmate and also by massage therapists masseuses and that I should have told my ex husband and they told my ex husband that I’m a slut and that I’m a lesbian and to divorce me and they didn’t tell him I was abused as a child by my maternal uncles, cousins and a house worker and a little girl. Even my mom was putting her hand close to my little brother’s genitals and that scared me and I remember entering the room and seeing my mom touching my little brother when he was 1 years old and she was changing his diaper and she was touching his genitals and laughing and got scared when I entered and that really scared me and my mom used to say that my dad was taking pictures of me naked when I was a baby but maybe it was my mom who did it because my dad never said anything sexually abusive except when I divorced and my dad bullied me saying my ex husband didn’t like me and liked other races and laughed also before that when he saw a waiter checking me out and my dad laughed and looked at me making fun of me whereas before that my dad used to have normal behavior in terms of that but my mom corrupted my dad after more than 25 years of marriage. Also, my mom used to say all sorts of bad things about my dad in indirect ways and even say that my dad’s relative told my maternal grandmother to not leave my mom next to her dad when she was a child and scare me that my dad is bad when it was my mom and her family who are perverts and sexual abusers.

My heart goes out to you. It's unfortunate that you've had to face such distressing experiences. It's hard to fathom the enormity of your ordeal and words fail to encompass the fear it must instill. On behalf of those who dismiss your experiences, I extend my apologies. I hope you find solace in your life. Your courage to voice your experiences speaks volumes about your bravery. I trust that our society hasn't deteriorated to a point where you'll live in perpetual fear. I wish you nothing but the best. ISLAM is EVIL Definetelly. I hope that society evolves, we'll realize this and not let misplaced fear cloud our judgments. I hope for kindness and understanding to prevail, both in your life and around the world. Remember, law are on your side. Remember, the laws are on your side. I hope that when society clarifies what Islam is, it won't be too late.

does the side supporting the motion just call "point of information" whenever they hear something they don't like?

Essentially they don't have anything of substance to offer, so they opt to try and disrupt or shut people up instead. Islam really isn't a side anyone can successfully argue for, ever.

because this guy had not much information of what he was saying. He was using the acts of ppl as a stand point. You cant use ppl's actions and use it as an argument to prove your point against a religion. Study about the religion first and mention what it states you think or believe is unethical or unacceptable . This guy clearly didnt want any points of information cos he was too busy reading something he's memorized and didnt want to get interrupted

Ok, I stand corrected on verse 15:26. 39:6, if it refers to 3 membranes around the fetus (chorion, allantois, and amnion), this idea was taught by Galen the influential Greek physician before the Qur'an was written. Nice reinterpretation of 21:33, the sun and moon do not orbit planet earth.

I don't recall the Nazis ever whining this way over being doubted and despised. But whining is an essential feature of jihād. At Islam’s foundation, Muhammad said the 2nd-best deed is “to participate in jihād (religious fighting) in Allah’s Cause” (Bukhari 1:2:25) and “When you are called by the Muslim ruler for jihād fighting, you should go forth immediately, responding to the call” (4:52:311). Infidels don’t need lessons in jihād nearly as much as Muslims need lessons in Islam (or in honesty).

Muslims now stomp on Ishaq’s writing in proportion to their (growing) embarrassment over it against the backdrop of a more-civilized world. But Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah (from Mecca, 725-815) is reported to have said “I studied with Ibn Ishaq...and not a single one of the Medinese accused him of anything or criticized him.” Ishaq, born in Medina, died in 761 or 767. How could his writing possibly have survived if his accounts had been fabricated? How could HE have survived there in Islam’s homeland?

Will Durant wrote "The [centuries-long] Islamic conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history." Take a look, too, at 1992's Negation in India, by Koenraad Elst and K.S. Lal's The Legacy of Muslim Rule in India; Indian Muslims-Who Are They; and also The Growth of Muslim Population in India.
