Dramatic to say, but you have to imagine that their careers were leading up to such a day in no small way, and the inspiration that gave us such incredible music would have likely gone to waste, or lived forever as a half-written tune in the artist's mind and hands, without all the hard work and practice they put in up to that point.

@Gulicktheemu4 жыл бұрын
The “Tube”, aka talk box is a very elegant, low tech effect and Frampton owned that effect. Nobody could use it better than he did. A speaker is tightly sealed to a box and the only outlet for the sound is through the tube. The performer has a foot pedal that can switch the sound output between the normal amplifier or the talk box. The person then alters the sound from the instrument by the shape of their mouth, including ‘talking’ without using the vocal cords but the instrument sound coming from the tube. Frampton did not invent it but he was a virtuoso in its use.

His music was so cool. His long hair is gone with a shiny dome in its place. Found out that Stevie Wonder used one in ‘72 and Joe Walsh used one in ‘73. They made their own. Bob Heil made the first commercially built ones and Frampton was the first to use his on an album.
@joeday42934 жыл бұрын
Which reminds me: now that he doesn't look like Shaun Cassidy with a guitar anymore, can we get past the look and admit that Peter Frampton is one of the most criminally underrated rock guitarists in history on pure merit? He was always SO much more than just a pretty face.

It's weird seeing him with a "Strat." I'm sure I've seen him with it before but I always associate Frampton with a three pickup "Les Paul."

Thanks for your reaction to Mr. Frampton, Jamel..... I had this album and I remember playing it while I was sewing clothes for myself and my daughter. After I'd put my daughter to bed, I'd sew until 2-3 in the morning. Because it was an album, it would just keep playing over and over. When I listened to the beginning here, I was right back in my kitchen sewing. Take care and be well. Sending a hello to Mrs. Jamel. Peace.

I loved it when the kids came to school with their pick in their hair for some strange reason. lol This came out in my early high school years, when Disco was King. All of us girls had the hots for Peter Frampton. You should listen to "Do You Feel Like We Do" That is the song that got all of us girls.

Jamel, check out Peter Frampton’s “Lines on My Face.” It features his amazing guitar skills. There are some recent videos of it on KZbin. Unfortunately, Peter’s developed a muscle wasting disease that will eventually take away his ability to play the guitar. Very sad.

@@bigdav47 Yes, the school was right across the street from her house. I guess Bob Geldof heard about it and the song title is the reason she gave for going on the shooting spree.
