The groups of today can never be compared to the groups of the 70’s & 80’s. Groups like Peter Gabriel, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Queen & Rush will never again be seen or heard on this planet again. There was so much meaning in their songs that spoke to the issues and problems that were going on in the world back then. The bands today rate maybe a 2 on a scale of 1-10, IMO. The above groups of those times are & will be forever the greatest bands of all time. I enjoyed those times so much, there are no words to describe how much I miss those days. Seeing those bands live was an experience I will cherish till the day I die, which is not far off unfortunately.

I saw this tour at a stop in Tinley Park Illinois. Red Rain was the first song played. There was a torrential downpour happening during the song. It was raining and blowing so hard that I got wet in the middle of the covered seats of the venue. Just as the song finished so did the rain. The sun peeked out just before it was to set and the sky literally became red and pink. It was the most amazing concert experience of my life.

Except it's fake. They are all playing " air guitar" to a pre-recorded track. The only thing real is the voices and some of the drumming. Look carefully at how they are playing, especially the bassist. You might be able to fake a live audience out that way since they are farther away but the camera picks up more.
@RebeccaTurner-ny1xx10 ай бұрын
@@VicMikesvideodiary There's no evidence of miming in Gabriel's live band. However, Gabriel replaced his live vocals in the studio afterwards, and possibly some in his band did too. A backing track of extra synth and percussion parts is evident, but no-one is miming. Looking at KZbin videos that have no replacement parts in them, such as his Woodstock show or more recent shows recorded by fans, shows his band is as professional and talented as they are in this video.

@@RebeccaTurner-ny1xx Are you completely blind? I told you where to look it's completely OBVIOUS. Open your eyes, WATCH the video. Quit being a BLIND fanboy. And use some reason, he probably did it because he wanted no mistakes.
@RebeccaTurner-ny1xx10 ай бұрын
@@VicMikesvideodiary It is widely acknowledged (I think by Gabriel himself) that he replaces his live vocals later for video releases - which is a shame, as no-one wants him to do this. But it isn't plain to anyone but you that his band or Gabriel is miming. The music business is very poor at keeping secrets and I'm sure it would have become common knowledge by now. This was filmed twenty years ago.

Ok but why he plays with steacks on his fingers?
@carl_hansson3 жыл бұрын
@@piotrtadeusz7803 It's to create a more hard almost percussive sound. In bass playing one of the most important things is how you make the strings vibrate and create sound (do you pluck or do you hit the strings? etc.). This can create greatly varying sounds and most players use several common styles when they play, changing between them. This is just another way (although a very unusual way, Tony Levin himself invented the style) of doing that to create a special sound.
