About the Conservative and Republican Student Conference:
Today’s academic consensus leaves little room for conservative ideas. Having left the right behind, academia finds itself all too often consumed by intellectual fads and untethered from the needs of our public discourse. The Conservative and Republican Student Conference was created to address this problem. The inaugural conference aims to provide Harvard students with a venue where they can hear from conservative leaders, policymakers and academics. It also serves as a gathering space for right-leaning students at one of the most liberal university campuses in the country. We hope that your discussions continue after our program concludes and that this conference sparks a revival of conservative thought at Harvard and throughout higher education.

The Salient is Harvard's undergraduate conservative publication. We fight to restore Harvard's traditions of free speech, intellectual rigor, and open debate. No opinion is barred from the Salient, so long as it is well-argued and rationally defended.
We are a student-run and student-written publication focusing on Harvard-related news, opinion pieces, and cultural analysis. When each issue drops, we distribute copies of the physical publication to the doors of every student and faculty member on campus. Online, we can share some of the best editorial content from our issues-and pieces written exclusively for our online audience-with the world.
Please spread the word about the Harvard Salient to your friends, family and colleagues. In order to rescue academia from her current disgrace, the Salient needs your help in returning independent thought and unwavering morality to our beloved campus.

engineer with a master's degree here. I come from the old Midwestern Anglo-Saxon ancestry. There was plenty of diversity in my scientific and engineering courses throughout college and grad school. There were plenty Americans of Armenian, Russian/Slavic, Indian/South Asian, East Asian, Jewish, Lebanese, Italian, Irish, Nordic ancestry. It was amazing. Just because there weren't any Blacks or Hispanics doesn't mean it wasn't racially diverse-- DEI folks never understand that.

Vermeule is so fucking arch. It's like that scene in "Blue Velvet" where Dennis Hopper says how suave the Dean Stockwell character is as they abuse the future Kwisatz Haderach. Some people look about and exchange sly glances as if to say, we live! How can there be aspirin for the superman? For his visions and strivings as of a star which is dead for a million years and still in power.

In physics field, string theory is a quasi-fringe science. Steven Weinber once said "There are physicist and then there are string theorists". He basically didn't count the string theory as science due to lack of experimentally verifiable prediction. Edit added : So even if you can prove that string theorist are frauds, you are not tackling science frauds. You are just agreeing with most physicists.

The cover story of DEI woke is the Christian motto the meek shall inherit the earth. The real story is good old envy (Cain slew Abel) People mask and self deny their own true self because its too painful to see your own truth.

21:25 There’s lots to dislike about string theory, particularly its problems with falsifiability. But science (or even just theoretical physics) doesn’t all come crashing down with it, any more than big business all comes crashing down with the exposure of Enron. Is this really Peter’s fantasy about string theory, or is he just parroting Eric Weinstein’s very personal axe-grinding?
