This guy pulled off the best Batman voice I've ever heard. It was just so natural. He didn't distort it or anything. Just talked with his own voice. That's partly why I prefer his take on the character. Of course, not every actor can do that. You have to have a deep enough voice to pull the Batman voice off. Peter Weller absolutely did.
@95FatAsses9 жыл бұрын
Paulie Yes he is easily one of the best batman voices. I'd have to say his voice edges out even Kevin Conroy's voice. Reason being that Conroy was originally selected for TV show aimed at kids, and so his voice was deep enough to be a batman, but not scare the kids. Of course, his voice has changed over the years and he has adeptly adjusted it to fit today's very dark version of batman, but peter weller's voice is just so much more natural. I know Conroy's voice's limits (as in how many emotions he can portray and how well he can portray them), and it is very limited compared to peter weller's.

He is good for Dark Knight movies, where it is gritty. But I would take Conroy for Kingdom Come Batman.

Don't kill me, but it feels good hearing his voice over Conroy's. CONROY IS THE MAN, but weller is so good too

I agree with all of you guys but this interview shows that he kinda only did it for the money. He kills me when he says: "it's fun to be a superhero. You get to be super, andyou get to be a hero...."

I still prefer Conroy's, whose voice in my opinion is the best Batman voice in history, but Weller's comes close & is definitely one of the best & sadly one of the most underrated.

you know for someone who really had no reason to play batman, he did pull off a great performance.

For someone as noticeably dispassionate at playing a superhero - or as uninterested in the genre as he clearly demonstrated here - he actually delivered a superb performance as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
@YusufIslam13 жыл бұрын
And that's exactly who batman is. 👌
@thestarkknightreturns3 жыл бұрын
@@YusufIslam1 not really. Wayne isn't dispassionate at all. He's actually quite addicted to being Batman and to putting on the costume and beating criminals to a pulp. He simply has his own silent, no-nonsensical way of being passionate.

I thought this was the greatest batman story because the enemy is time. Bruce is struggling with the fact that he’s going to die as a retired billionaire in his mansion, so he becomes batman again as a last attempt at fighting against time, whilst doing something that makes him feel fulfilled. I love this story because at its core it’s really human.
@thestarkknightreturns5 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. Even though I believe his fight against time was less the focal point, and more the byproduct of how long he punished himself for having been unable to save Robin, which prompted him to give up on the "mission". Also the violence in his lifestyle was addictive. Each time he beat a criminal to a pulp, he felt like saving his parents over and over again. When he finally concluded once again he could not stand all the injustice around him anymore, he felt the beast inside him was finally ready to come back in the game, but it was already too late because the body could no longer serve the full extent of his intentions. He was also angered by the fact that his body did not allow him to do the things he used to do - while supreme slow-aging beings such as Superman did nothing of value with their capabilities. As such, he overcompensated with excessive brutal force and resume his vigilante approach just like he did when he was young. He ultimately clinged to the chance of becoming relevant and agelesss again - and the Bat persona burst out of him. But when trying to revive his true self, he was suddenly put on his tracks when he was humiliatingly defeated by a true "him", only evil in nature: the Mutant Leader. Younger, faster, stronger and without his moral compass. That's when he really felt the weight of his age. He then felt obligated to adapt his mindset and fighting style to his old shell. It's a very complex masterpiece - and my personal favourite take on the character. It deals not only with the effects of time and aging, but also with feelings of impotence, inferiority, solitude, smallness when compared to a State authority, outliving everyone you know, living in a chaotic and immoral society, feeling nostalgia for your prime self, envy for those younger and stronger than you - also being stubborn, and how that stubborness will most likely leave you alone, even when you're right.

I'm amazed how little people get into those aspects of the story. It's man vs himself (Two-Face / Joker), man vs nature (the heat, the storm, the nuclear winter), and man vs. God (Superman). Very primal storytelling and universal themes.

As much as I love and respect Kevin Conroy I just wish we had Weller as Batman in more things specifically the older Batman
@gonzacollao2 жыл бұрын
His performance was fucking phenomenal. His voice as Miller's Batman fits like a glove, he sounds like a badass but at the same time, so stoic, there is something comforting about his voice, very soothing, it's a natural performance, wasn't forced or distorted like pretty much every other Batman voice. Superb voice acting by Mr. Weller.

I remember back then when I was a young boy and watch Robocop movie for the first time in the early 2000s. The first thing came into my mine is how similar between Robocop and Batman (mostly about the design of Robocop helmet that remind me of the Batman mask) and after many years I was so shock to find out that the voice actor of Batman in The Dark knight return was actually Peter Weller.

Who else thinks he should've played mr.Freeze in a Tim Burton Batman movie. Everything about him screams mr. Freeze!!! His physique, voice, and maybe he would move around a little like Robocop with his suit as well.
