I just got aseprite so these tips are very helpful! Thank you for the video!
@andreijardan26644 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips :). Btw, if you want to move a layer, you can also drag it with right click (after selecting it), instead of having to click on that tiny lil yellow border.

Although the canvas size depends on your needs, I think it is safe to say that a good way to work with your canvas size would be basing it on your game's screen resolution. This way you know how much of the screen these assets would take. This is the case for people making assets for their indie/games. Aseprite is an amazing tool, as you mentioned, since it allows you to resize stuff on the fly without much of a hassle. Thanks a lot for this great video Pete! Keep up the great work dude

Man, just bought it 2 weeks ago or totally would of used your link! Thanks for the rad videos dude

Substitute for moving layers: instead of grabbing the border (annoying) hold Right-Click and drag (way less annoying).

hey man, really enjoyed dwerve. the art was sooo cool. could u make a video to help people like me understand how cli works? wanted to learn how to export slices and stumbled upon it.
@pkbeamgamma92624 жыл бұрын
3:24 im not sure if u mention it later, but that same border thing applies to frames, not just layers. ngl its kinda tedious when i get animations over 30 frames 😅

It's such an odd design choice. I get the idea of prioritizing multi-selection over moving them, but it's also going against the standard design of nearly every graphics program we've all learned and gotten used to. I often opt to not use Aseprite purely because of how awkward controlling the UI feels compared to other programs.

I must be mentally disabled because I have been messing around on asespire a solid hour and haven't managed to draw yet. I managed to make my canvas actual drawing size now but drawing with the gb color palette is impossible. The pencil is extremely small or just giant. Can't make the grid work. I always set out to do these things and it's like a massive learning curve or something it's seriously so frustrating and no tutorial has the answers to the simplest things I want to know it's like they expect you to know stuff all ready. I literally know absolutely nothing about this someone point me in the right direction please

Your best tip was that of the Twitter bookmarks. Why didn't I even try to see what that was? It's gonna be so useful! But okay, here goes one tip for... yyooo...whoever wants it. You can have two windows side by side on Aseprite, just by dragging the tab of your second window to the side until that panel enlarges, then you drop it there. EDIT: The List thing (feature, w/e) on Twitter is a bit dumb, though. You can't create a list when adding someone. You have to go create a list first. :facepalm: And the Bookmarks is also annoying, as you can't add people from the list (not List) of people you're following. You have to either go to their profile page, or click on a button on one of their tweets. Why do Twitter keeps adding half-assed features? Jeez...
@kevinanderson63674 жыл бұрын
The moment of truth! IS Asesprite better than Graphicsgale, just kidding. They're both good. Dang lists and bookmarks are sick! I never knew what they were for.
