@kunilsen2519

Of course, but it depends on how you are asking, as well as the situation. It's easy to make kids feel stupid/silly/less by asking or talking about things in a way that is (currently) above their knowledge. Sometimes it can be hard to find the right tone that may/will comfortably educate them instead of making it seem like you are talking down on them or putting them on the spot. From what I saw (not knowing this girl personally), the situation and how it was asked was not ideal, though it is good to let children share their knowledge first and help and/or direct it as nessecery.

Human procreation wasn't the main focus, just procreation in general, and no explicit illustrations. Just having that book around made me have a very healthy relationship with sex, as I was too young to have that reaction of disgust but old enough to 'maintain' the information and see it as natural

I was six years old when my mom was pregnant with my sister, and while she never went into the gritty details of HOW the baby gets inside their mother, but she definitely told me what she could about pregnancy. She also taught me a lot about periods, which I was very grateful for when I got my first one at ten years old. But this is just uncomfortable for pretty much everyone involved, especially since so many of the parents are making it awkward by beating around the bush. The little Asian boy knows what's up, though.

My friends told her daughter all the anatomically correct words when she needed to say something cause she didn’t want her daughter to be afraid of things that were natural. Her daughter saw a box of tampons and was asking what are these for and she said what was the point of lying and then told her that someday when she was older she’d use them too because women bleed there and she said “I’m gonna hurt my vagina every month?!”

I think the best way as a parent is to teach correct bodily autonomy and consent from a young age and as questions come up, give scientific/situational answers, there’s no need to sugarcoat or overreach your kids when they’re not ready, but consent and autonomy are things they might need to know before puberty
