I give you a huge congrats on doing these digs on hard ground in the heat. Good luck on your next adventure.

The struggle is real! I took the week off so I could hunt with that machine. The week before the highs were in the mid 90s. That week the average high was 104. Just my luck! Take care!

Thanks for the time and effort to create these videos, it's very much appreciated! If you don't already, test pan those areas where you find lead in streams, you may just be on the gold after all! HH

Tsunami Scott I did go back with the pan. Bird shot. Grrrrrrr! I do have a good test for the machine coming up in the next few months and it will end up with gold! Im not going to spoil the surprise though! Take care and have a great day!

Good to see you out digging brother. Maybe next time you'll find that big ole nugget! Glad to see that you are getting along with the cows in this video. LOL Thanks for sharing! Try to stay cool in this heat. Until next time... GL, HH, and as always.... DIG ON!

Well; these cows speak Californian. The other ones are foreigners. Who knows what they speak. All cows are dangerous. Have you see the size of their talons? Take your head off in one swipe! Take care and Dig On my friend!

I liked the non-POV digging shots, it added some variety. As for the lack of gold, I'm sure it has something to do with the evil bovine master plan (maniacal mooing in the distance). GL&HH, Tim

It started it out at around 70. When I left it was 104. I felt dead!

If you still have this machine you should have tried the 5 inch double d that came with the detector .I would love to get into that spot with my AU Goldfinder .
@MatthewPfeil2 жыл бұрын
Ya. I should have. That day was brutal with the heat and having about a mile hike to get to that location on that permission. I’ll get back there again one day. I do still have that machine, but I also have the Gold Kruzer, which is the next evolution. I figured I’d try that one out there when I can make it back there again. That hunt was 5 years ago.
@RussTNails-fw9ds2 жыл бұрын
You surprised me with your reply as I new it was five years ago when you made the video. I also have a kruzer and use them both,they are very good VLF gold machines.They handle the Western Australian Goldfields mineralisation very well.The au is a match for the cruiser.The au has two dd coils the 10x5 and the 5 inch round,however the kruzer only has one the 10x5 is not a dd, only the small 8x4 inch is dd, meaning the the 10x5 on the au will handle the mineralisation better than the 10x5 on the kruzer.they are different frequencies 56 for the au and 61 for the kruzer making the coils not interchangeable most people go for the gk24 for the kruzer to get a dd similar size but slightly smaller but very sensitive .

I’ll look into that. My AU has been out on loan to a friend for a couple years now. I need to get that back some time. Lol! Most of the gold out here is on private land or federal land. The property owners know what they have and rarely let anyone detect. Federal land is off limits. The one state wild area is off limits to prospecting, but ok for relic hunting. I won’t take a gold machine out there but I will take something like the Legend or any other machine that hits high frequencies. Since I found my 1/2 ounce nugget, natural gold has alluded me.

I bet the best part of the hunt was in the creek. Looked hot man. And that one caw was eyeing you up i can tell, when you were not looking i think he stuck his tong out at you lol.

+superneo123 what I didn't show was that particular cow ended up pulling a knife on me. Little punk! I hit him with the 31" Sampson and he went crying to mama!

Matthew Pfeil™ rofl yeah im sure, did you see the last hoover boys vid, a horse stomps on kurts coil. they are closely related to the cows.

+superneo123 large farm animals are very hateful towards detectorists. Must be how they are raised.

Is it a shovel or a tractor seat?
@MatthewPfeil8 жыл бұрын
Definitely a shovel. The piece that would have gone around the handle is rusted away, but the rest where it merged into the shovel head is still there.

Mornin' Matt, just couldn't believe the size of that shovel!! I would have trouble lifting it empty!! GL&HH :-}
@MatthewPfeil8 жыл бұрын
+Brian Oakes its only maybe 12 inches wide and about 15 deep. Give or take a couple inches. No larger than a square shovel from today. I like finding them. They flesh out the story of the site. Have a great day!

Hey, where is the critique, the pros and cons? I am new to metal detecting, and I did get a BOGO from Kellyco last year. I have had them out a few times. There are a lot of restrictions where I live. I bought the Minelab X-terra 505 and got the Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505 for free. Which hand held are you using? I think I may pick one up. I too give you a lot of credit, going out in that kind of heat. I try to stay in the house when it hits 70 and above...really! I also don't own any dark (darker than a medium red) clothing. I really don't like heat of any kind.

I think I was so dehydrated I forgot to add that! I am so embarrassed! I am going to post a video today discussing those! Thanks for catching that. For now, pros: the weight is very manageable. It breaks down and fits well in a medium sized pack, the controls are easy to use and require very little time to get used to. Ground balancing is a breeze. Build quality is tops. Cons: the LED indicators for ferrous/nonferrous are hart to see in bright sunlight. It loves large flat tin (like all machines) and will give you a false nonferrous indication. I sincerely apologize of forgetting to put that in the video! I'll make the correction today!

To answer your other question, (sorry. I had a minor panic attack ) I use two pin pointers. I use a Makro Pointer and a Whites TRX. The Makro is my favorite of the two. I have used the Garrett and the Minelab Profind. Both are good. The thing with a pinpointer, you do not need depth. It is to help retrieve, not detect. I find with my Makro, I have to reduce strength to accurately locate and with the TRX, it works at the tip. The Garrett and the Profind are both 360 degree pinpointers as well as the Makro. I recommend end buying any one of those.

Hello there! Will FORS detector set to exclude iron mineralization will reflect regional influential? When you go out to detect whether gold turned to exclude iron set! Waterproof exploration site how? It can be detected in the water? 你好! 请问FORS探测器设置排除铁,会对矿化反映的区域有影响吗? 你们出去探测黄金时是否开启排除铁的设置! 防水探盘怎么样? 可以在水里探测吗?
@MatthewPfeil8 жыл бұрын
+Yongliang Zhaao I hope I can answer this question satisfactory. The machine I am using is a Nokta Gold AU. The FORS is an entirely different t machine. When I go out to detect Gold, I set the iron discrimination to the factory preset. Mainly because I want to find areas of black sand, which are iron deposits that gold is normally found around. When I find an area like that, I increase the iron discrimination to quiet the low iron tone down. However, like all machines, large pieces of flat tin will confuse it and make you think it is gold signal. There is no display. This machine is tonal. If you are curious about the FORS Relic, I would advise you to search for my friend "Tarheel Diggin" on KZbin. He is working with the FORS and would have more information concerning it. From what I have seen, it is a capable machine for all kinds of detecting. I hope that answers your question. Take care, good luck, and happy hunting!

Well, I appreciated the comments about the car actually. I've had my share of American cars, not a one didn't have an Issue, such as yours. If it's mechanical, it's gonna break, or have issues. Since Fiat, basically owns Chrysler, I guess Chrysler isn't American anymore, kind of like Budweiser owned by the Germans, isn't American anymore, LOL... I enjoyed your Video Because....UNLIKE some others, you don't make it look like it's all Milk and Honey. some show nothing but good find after another, and none of the Pull tabs, Bottle Caps, and other crap that's out there. But it does make it possible to get some GREAT deals on used equipment when newbies find, every dig isn't Treasure, and give up, LOL... Thanks again... this is the first of your videos I've watched. Now I'm going to Subscribe....

+Sonny Dryer thanks for the comment! I have always tried to include the good and the bad. It's a crap shoot of a hobby. I wish every day is gold but in reality, some days you are wishing for that zinc penny! I really do appreciate your subscription. Right now I am coming back from a little adventure in Nome, but all that will be revealed in future videos. Take care and I wish you all the luck in your digs!
