"Not all learning comes from books" amazing directing, at this moment we all knew the meaning of that line Jesse said to his little brother. He outsmarted an experienced chemist
@TheColourCyan5 жыл бұрын
@Mister Guy A fake one, there's no way someone like Jesse would be able to outperform an experienced synthetic chemist. But the chemistry in the show is nebulous at best; they procured tens of liters of hydrofluoric acid from a god damn high school... the notion that a high school would have hydrofluoric acid, let alone that much of it, is beyond ridiculous - it's extremely lethal and has literally no applications in a high school setting. In the pilot, Walt throws red phosphorous in to water and makes phosphine gas - this reaction doesn't actually happen without an alkali metal. Walt was using the Nagai method at that point in the show, which does not use alkali metals (it's a single-electron transfer with hydroiodic acid catalyst and red phosphorus co-catalyst) so there's really no way it would've worked.

don't get how he sounds mexican when he's speaking spanish but then english when he speaks english, surely accents stay constant throughout?
@rudrachakraborty64199 жыл бұрын
Andrew de Boer not really, it's called "code switching". While non-native speakers of a language usually have some distinguishing features that mark them as non-natives, you adopt the pronunciation of a language as you learn to speak it. In this example, he could have been a Mexican who was either raised or attended school in England, and thus learned Received Pronunciation. Using myself as an example, my intonation changes when I speak Bengali, Spanish, or German. It has less to do with a persons accent than the sounds of the language itself.

if he had him synthesise the acid while they were cleaning contaminants, doesn't that mean there's a strong chance that there would be contaminants in the acid?
