even my first time watching BB I found it difficult to consider Gus the "bad guy"...I know when watching through Walt's POV he's clearly an adversary but otherwise dude was just trying to do his thing while fucking over the guys who did him wrong years ago (the cartel)...sure he makes some messed up threats to Walt and murdered Hector but otherwise he was actually pretty reasonable compared to Walt...Better Call Saul adds even more to this...idk...Team Gus and Mike just sayin

"Not all learning comes from books" amazing directing, at this moment we all knew the meaning of that line Jesse said to his little brother. He outsmarted an experienced chemist
@TheColourCyan
@TheColourCyan 5 жыл бұрын
@Mister Guy A fake one, there's no way someone like Jesse would be able to outperform an experienced synthetic chemist. But the chemistry in the show is nebulous at best; they procured tens of liters of hydrofluoric acid from a god damn high school... the notion that a high school would have hydrofluoric acid, let alone that much of it, is beyond ridiculous - it's extremely lethal and has literally no applications in a high school setting. In the pilot, Walt throws red phosphorous in to water and makes phosphine gas - this reaction doesn't actually happen without an alkali metal. Walt was using the Nagai method at that point in the show, which does not use alkali metals (it's a single-electron transfer with hydroiodic acid catalyst and red phosphorus co-catalyst) so there's really no way it would've worked.

See the difference in Jesse when he is encouraged and given real responsibility rather than being manipulated. Jesse would have thrived under Gus and Mike and Walter knew it.

i could be reading into things but something i noticed is how when gus uses the box cutter on his worker in that episode, He watches both Walt's and Jesse's reaction. Walt is mortified looking away while Jesse is leaning forward staring at gus with no fear. Gus almost has a slight expression of surprise. And in this scene this is confirming to Gus that Jesse can handle confronting situations. Following the whole "i like to think i see things in people"

When I watch breaking bad second times, surprisingly, I noticed that i haven't watched this episode before, which means I accidentally skipped that when i watched it for the first time. Now watching this episodes is like watching extra breaking bad episode, which is a unexpected and treasurable gift to me.

So after the ending of "Bug" with Walt and Jesse getting into a brawl, you watched the beginning of "Crawl Space" where Jesse is rushing the car to the makeshift hospital tent with Gus poisoned and Mike shot, and you didn't stop to think that you missed a ton of plot?

Extra-Os because the show is so dense, right? i just finished today watching the second time, after 1 and a half year of the first watch, i knew who was going to die, how would it end, but some key details i noticed for the first time, some pretty dense details, its wonderful, im gonna watch for the third time but with more calm, i get really inspired by mr. white since i’m really a chemist student

Andrew de Boer not really, it's called "code switching". While non-native speakers of a language usually have some distinguishing features that mark them as non-natives, you adopt the pronunciation of a language as you learn to speak it. In this example, he could have been a Mexican who was either raised or attended school in England, and thus learned Received Pronunciation. Using myself as an example, my intonation changes when I speak Bengali, Spanish, or German. It has less to do with a persons accent than the sounds of the language itself.
