Phil Collins is an elite rockstar as you guys mentioned... he is one of 3 artists of all time to have sold more than 100 million albums both as a solo artist and also more than 100 million albums as a member of a band (Genesis). The other two are Paul McCartney ( The Beatles) and Michael Jackson ( Jackson Five). An elite list without a doubt. He is a superstar and I enjoy how much both of you admire his talent.

I am a sista that grew up in Indiana in the 80’s and Genesis and Phil Collins got much play in my house. I remember getting ready for school watching MTV and Phil would have the whole house grooving! Now you have to listen to “That’s All,” Tonight, Tonight, Tonight, Throwing It All Away, and “In Too Deep” to name a few. Then you’ll be ready to move into Peter Gabriel and “Sledgehammer” and “Shock The Monkey.”

This is one of the best “F-U” songs in rock history. There’s also an excellent live version of it here: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIuWeHRsmcatiqM. (A lot of Phil Collins and Genesis songs are better live than their studio versions.) One of the things about Phil Collins is how versatile he was. In the Air Tonight, Easy Lover, and I Don’t Care Anymore are so completely different, but he had some of his biggest successes with power ballads and love songs - Against All Odds (probably his most famous song after In the Air Tonight), One More Night, You’ll Be in My Heart (from the Tarzan soundtrack), I Wish It Would Rain Down - and the anti-homelessness song Another Day in Paradise. Then there is his stuff with the band Genesis that have totally different sounds. There are so many songs there - Mama (check out this live version from 1987 m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZTJpqmdhq9kprs), That’s All, Tonight Tonight Tonight, Land of Confusion, In Too Deep, Home By the Sea/Second Home By the Sea (two tracks on the album, but meant to be listened to as a song song - here’s a great live version kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmiuoGpvq96njaM), Dance on Volcano, and Ripples - just for starters.
