I learned how to cook from my sweet mama and grandma and they could cook! It’s one thing I’m really proud of. The little 92 year old man who lives next door lost his wife recently so when I cook for my family, I make sure to cook extra so he can have a home cooked meal!

Brother Phil reminds me of my family growing up.... Honest, straight forward, and speaks from the Bible. He and Miss Kay cook just like my Mom and her family. She made the best shrimp gumbo I've ever eaten, and her fried shrimp was so good, you just couldn't get enough. She always said I made better cornbread than her, though. I don't know about that...

Listening to you talk while making some good food is one of the most relaxing, nostalgic things I’ve heard in a while. As a kid or even young adult, my sister and I would be in the kitchen talking to mom while she made supper. This reminded me of those days. So much simpler, less chaotic, and content with life back then. I did have the ignorance of being a kid as an advantage but our mom rarely mislead or wasn’t honest about our life, finances, goals, being realistic with us so we learned to have hope but not get crushed if something didn’t happen or I didn’t get the girl I wanted, whatever. Your videos have been a blessing while learning to live alone even if the video isn’t pertaining to what I’m doing. Thank you for that man.

Today I cooked these shrimps they were so easy to make I just couldn't believe it!!! Me and my son worked together but we just couldn't stop eating them strength from the pot!!!@Lol, Lol, Lol.. This was our bounding time as he's served our country for over 9 years and been alone on his own, he loves Duck Dynasty well I know you talked about the husband and wife bounding and getting to know each other this was the perfect timing! I also cooked your rice it was so fantastic my son and his buddy loved it well then I cooked some Ribs Mr. Robinson with a little help from you and myself. We had the most delicious dinner on this planet it is better then a Restaurant because my son helped me. What topped it off to be the very best day of my life was when my son eat your rice that I cooked for him brought tears to his eyes because it brought memories of his tim in the army that he suffered I know I never new nothing of the story only his lack of food during that time rice was like meat to him. So I new this rice was special to him grateful to eat with such joy but his prayers were so heart felt it brought tears of sorrow because our me service our country and we really don't know what they truly have been through. Thanking God he loves my son so much more then me and I'm grateful for God for it. Thank you Mr. Robinson for your prayers and food recipes on cooking a simple good meal.

I was just surfing KZbin when I found his channel, and it touched a place in my heart and mind that brought me home when in my mother's kitchen, watching her cook. Yes Phil, I agree. Men need to cook more often. I watched my mom put together some wonderful "old school" food for table that would taste a lot better than this plastic stuff cooked today. You are a treasure, and I'm glad I found you and your channel! Mama said, if you can read, you can cook! Keep it simple because good food doesn't need to be fancy!
