Joel Hansell here. Phil, it's fantastic!! Thank you so much for such a beautiful design -- I love the high peak of the bowl and your decision to offset the center. The bark and the grain are wonderful. That piece sat in the shop for so long because I couldn't decide on the orientation. You nailed it!! I knew you would do it justice. Thank you, Sir!

You alway pull the best possible bowel out of a piece of wood. You have a great eye. And I really like that you almost never use epoxies and you still make it look great. Thanks for sharing 👍.

Homer it is!! As you were holding the finished bowl, all I could think of was, Phil turned a bowl out of an alligator head😂 The bark reminds me of an alligator’s skin,. In true fashion you have created another beautiful piece!!

Another beauty, but by now I would expect nothing less. Thanks once more for your time and skill. If I could stand for more than two minutes at a time I'd be trying some of these things on my own lathe. Oh well, this is the road the Lord laid out for me so I try not to complain. That is beautiful! It's a tough decision how to turn a piece like this. I'm glad it was not up to me! I always learn something new watching your videos. They inspire me what can be done with an unusual shape of wood and give me encouragement to try it myself. I'm often surprised (amazed even) how well these can turn out, even for a novice like myself. Thanks!

I may have been tempted to just make slices of this on the band saw and use them for wall art or centerpieces for hot items on the dinner table. Good job working this out.
