@@Walruz1000 yeah good question, great honestly. More, obliques is that the word? Sides, sides and shoulders. I do good on my deadlifts and jeffersons tho, my back is never really an issue. That swing and twist is going to cause someone bad shoulder damage. You have internal rotation of the shoulder, with shoulder elevation, and in an abrupt movement pattern. I bet when Phil sits down to think about it, he may not ever program this in. Could be wrong though!
@josephmoore977
@josephmoore977 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I thought about that too. I tried a few reps with that in mind & it seems that you should lessen the movement with the shoulder and focus more upon coiling deeper to the opposite side so that there is more stacking of the upper body
@319jmp

@@josephmoore977 I think I get what you are saying, so there would be more of a lateral side bend at the hips?
@josephmoore977
@josephmoore977 Жыл бұрын
@@319jmp yes, exactly. It becomes almost a "side crunch." I also think that people should try it slower with a significantly lighter weight to develop proper motor patterns first before increasing to the size of weights that he was using in the video.

This makes a lot of sense, even though it looks ridiculous. I think he embellished these movements for training & demonstration purposes. Implementing them during a fight would probably be less subtle movements. It's actually innovative when you think about it. All of our power is generated through the hips & core so learning to generate torque by utilizing a larger portion of our body (i.e. the spine) would benefit in the production of greater power. While some of these techniques do need to be modified, the principles are absolutely accurate.

This comment is unrelated to the video but I hope there are answers for it anyways: Is there a way to have a career in fighting but your name is never revealed not only during the matches but just in general? If I have a career in fighting I want to be called by a stage name, no first name nor last name revealed. Almost everyone knows Cardi B as Cardi B or Doja Cat as Doja Cat and people would have to google stuff about them to learn their real names. Difference is, if I end up successful in fighting or famous somehow I never want my full name revealed even after signing contracts or introducing myself to people (whether for business reasons or friendship) and I wanna make sure it never leaks out if I ever be honest about my name with them, like how no one knows the real name of Corpse Husband nor do people try to pry.
