The reason they're chanting cheaters is because your team got caught cheating and more or less got a slap on the wrist. Also, what about the illegal bat by Maldonado? Absolutely nothing was done about that. The Mlb seems to have this theme that you can cheat and get away with it.

It's over folks. As a Phillies fan I had to be objective, and I just didn't see us beating the Astros even though I got ridiculed for it. Pitching just too deep, and a lineup that just wears down pitchers. There is absolutely no way in the universe they're going to win 2 straight in Houston against Valdez and Javier. But it was a great season, we're still NL Champions, and who would've ever expected that?

PS FUN FACT WHEN THE STROS LOST IN 2019 (IT ACTUALLY WAS THE PITCHING AND PITCHING COACH'S FAULT) IN 2021 AGAINST THE BRAVES THEY LOST BECAUSE THEY HAD INJURED PLAYERS IN THE STARTING LINEUP AND HAD LOST THEIR STEAM AND THEIR HAVING TO RELY ON THE BULLPEN TO START GAMES BECAUSE 3 OF THEIR STAR STARTING PITCHERS WERE HURT) BUT THE FACT REMAINS IN BOTH OF THISE SEASONS THEY DOMINATED ALL REGULAR SEASON LONG ....BOTH YEARS. . BUT HERE'S WHAT THEY DIDNT DO...THEY DIDNT BKAME ANYONE...THEY TIPPED THEIR CAPS TO THE TEAM THAT BEAT THEM AND OUTPLAYED THEM CONGRATULATED THEM AND CANE BACK HARDER. Nola isn't the ace, he's the # 2. He helped get us here, so he's way down my list of culprits, shortcomings and all. We broke the bank on our offense and they've been missing for two games, because they were always going to be an all or nothing team hitting wise. The team just isn't as good as the Astros, and we weren't expected to get this far anyway. They need depth in their rotation and bullpen, better fielding, and to not be so heavy on streaky, power hitting, DH type players. Regardless of the outcome, let us hope we continue to improve the roster in the offseason.

The Phillies gave us huge moments in the post season. Everyone knew they were an underdog, yet expect them to play like they won 105 games. The series are long at the end to reveal weaknesses. Phillies being very hot carried them, and now you see Houston plodding along with fundamental hitting, and exceptional pitching. The Phillies aren't out but odds say winning two away is remote. You can't always swing for home runs. A timely single, sacrifice, stolen base, bunt, etc. are needed. Hopefully next year they'll get some solid players to complement the core team.

Disappointing as it was to lose that game, but from the competitive entertainment perspective it was the best of the series to watch so far. Good pitching by both teams, men-on-base missed opportunities by both teams. Two fantastic defensive plays by Houston, one bad play by the Phils. Wheeler has to throw a gem & they need to avoid the double-digit strikeout game. Forget the home run approach - just use the middle of the field & keep the lineup moving. Walks, steals, anything that puts pressure on the pitcher & infield. We've made it easy for them so far by striking out more than half our at-bats.

It helps when you've got a consistent roster year after year. And even when we lose a piece, we almost immediately replace it with a guy we've been developing. Lost Correa, got Pena. Lost Cole, Greinke, and Morton, got Framber, Javier, and Garcia. Even if we lose Verlander this offseason, we've got Verlander Jr. waiting to go in Hunter Brown Built > Bought. That's why we've stayed good for 6 straight years and will likely be good for at least a few more years

And when they won in 2017 were caught cheating red handed. Every year, a new champion emerge. This is just one year. So lighten up guys.
