This video is so under rated. All other DUI methods on KZbin did not work except for this one.

Greate video. I bought the DieHard extractor sockets they worked great.

A good vid, I wonder why the Die Hard sockets aren't 1/2" drive.

Hey thanks for this info. What about worrying about breaking the stud, do you ever have to use heat? I have a 454 vette and that is my concern.
@PhillipsVision Жыл бұрын
If the stud breaks, you can saturate it with penetrating oil and bang it out through the top
@DoloDolph3 ай бұрын
@@PhillipsVisionis the stud reversed threaded at the top? I had to grind off the nut and use a stud extractor but the extractor isn’t getting the stud to budge. Any solutions?
@PhillipsVision3 ай бұрын
@@DoloDolph yes, it’s reversed up top. Try saturating the stud with penetrating oil and feed the extractor deep into the stud. Use a breaker bar and turn slightly so it can dig in a grab it. If that doesn’t work try heating it up first with a torch.
@amygajewski67188 ай бұрын
yeah the irwins are shorter, but you can place a bigger socket on it hence the hex at the bottom. 1/2 3/8 drives dont matter, wrenches could be used. tall studs not an issue.

Boss man hello. I am also trying to remove a nut from a bolt on a catalytic converter flange. However, the nut on the bolt just turns and turns when i reverse turn. Its not stripped just wont back out.
@PhillipsVision Жыл бұрын
Is the stud turning on the other side of the flange?

Could you have used small torch on that bolt in that area? Do you think it would be safe..like a little lighter torch?

so my bolts broke how do i get them out, i'm lost with the bolts are stock and i don't want to take the manifold off
@PhillipsVision10 ай бұрын
You can drill out the center of the broken bolt and use an extractor bit to unscrew it

Many time, if it is stuck that hard. The stud will break. How do you avoid that ?
@PhillipsVision11 ай бұрын
If it is seized that bad it’s very hard to avoid. Try using penetrating oil first to try to help loosen it

I tried this for the same thing on a 15 mm and I used a 14 and it stripped it worse what do I do

Try using the next size down extracting socket, and bang it on tight with a sledge hammer

I got the same problem. But my boltz are rounded out Any ideas
@PhillipsVision Жыл бұрын
The hex heads of the bolts are rounded? If so, just use these extractor sockets on the bolt side
@e.r.videography6209 Жыл бұрын
Can the extractor cover the flange instead if the nut is severely stripped?
@PhillipsVision Жыл бұрын
If it’s severely stripped use a smaller extracting socket. That should work
