This video brought back a lot of my childhood memories, I'm a Thai guy living in America, I left Thailand in 1973 when I was 10yo. I also grew up in a small village like this one, we're the same age Joe 57. If everything go as planned I should be able to retire in about 3-4 years. I missed my homeland so much, my heart in not in America anymore. Even though I've been lucky with a good paying job while I'm here, I still feel like I'm wasting my time here. I need to come home. I'll be coming back alone. Both my parents are gone now and I have no kids.

Great to see you experiencing the traditional Thai lifestyle. We spend our winters in a small village outside a city of about 15,000 in southern Khon Kaen province. You guys will have to stop by sometime. We're here until early April then back to the states. Take care guys and keep enjoying Thailand and all it has to offer. Chok dee na khrop!

Great video Joe, it's so refreshing to watch vids that show the real Thailand and, above all, remain enjoyable and entertaining. Nice to see you get out to the sticks and mingle with the "family", you seem to fit right in. I liked the part when Gift explained to you she had many friends, "mak mak ka", when she was younger and what happened to them ...You and Gift certainly make a good team together. Another thumbs ups from me, keep the dream alive. P.S While you're (or if you're still) up that way of Thailand you must try to visit Sukhothai.

Hi David, Thank you my friend. I really enjoyed meeting Gift's family. Gift can say the funniest unexpected things while I'm filming, which is great. Sometimes I take hours of video and edit them into 10 minute vlogs to keep it interesting. We will have to visit Sukhothai another time my friend. From Phitsanulok we went to Loei "Issan". I'm sure you by now know what "Sinsod" is Joe! I'd say she's worth at least ten million baht! Lol There goes part of your retirement funds! 😋🤪 Even though that's a tradition, I think Gift's family will go easy on you. I love that home out in the country! Beautiful. Have you had any problems with mosquitos in either Bangkok or where you were visiting at? Ask Gift if she's seen many snakes in her life there? I'm borderline paranoid about Cobras, etc. I'm not a seafood, fish or insect eater so I'd be eating a lot of boiled cabbage, pork, beef and chicken. Lol I have a total between pension and SS of about $2,500/mo. so not sure if I could ever retire in Thailand. So many wonderful people. It is so enticing. Enjoy.. As always. God bless you both.
@FOREIGNER2B5 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephen, I'm not too sure that Gift's family can afford that much Sinsod for me my friend. LOL. I had more problems with mosquitos in Italy. But then again, I haven't been here for the rainy season. Gift said that she seen a lot of snakes when growing up in the country, mostly in the woods. Your pension of $2,500 a month meets the requirement of 65,000 baht or more a month and you can live good on that. God bless you! All the best!
@stevebond7272005 жыл бұрын
Foreigner Joe ahhh... as always, thanks! Lol great.. SINSOD for you! Just tell her you will forego the SinSod if they don't make you eat insects. I saw a video where a guy's Thai wife was collecting ants. She was shaking the ant "hive" or whatever they call it way up in a tree. Once she touched it with the long pole, some of the ants traveled down the pole and attacked her. They bite and sting. Then they harvest the eggs and eat them. You and I are used to "egg salad" in the states! Lol but come from chickens! I think it is just all cultural and in truth, is there really anything better or worse if you eat a country field rat or Kentucky Fried chicken? Lol Anyway, no response necessary. I know you are busy and as always I respect you for your values and respect for not only Gift but all around you plus the refreshing way you Express yourself without using profanity or God's name in vain. 👍👍😎 Joe and Gift🤴👸
