I love the mix of emotions on Jeri's face in this clip's last moments. She goes from regretful and bitter, to surprised, emotionally moved, and then truly thankful. That's the mark of a great actor.

Love that just barely, just slightly, noticeable smile on Tuvok’s face after he says “Resignation denied….Captain”…..ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS and a testament to how highly he really regards 7 of 9.

Tuvok was always my favorite character from Voyager. Tim Russ was only eclipsed by Leonard Nimoy when it came to capturing what it was to be a Vulcan. So many actors and actresses thought playing someone with suppressed emotions meant playing someone without emotion or expression. Tim nailed it though.

I'm reasonably sure that, as a Vulcan, Tuvok would rebuff the notion of having pride in a colleague, however good the relationship might be. He would more likely say that he is "gratified at [her] accomplishments and subsequent promotion."

I never could come onto the Shaw fan bandwagon. Because he forced Seven to use her human name when she didn't refer it. Yes, I know. PTSD and all, but seven had nothing to do with that and I'm certain Shaw read her record on Voyager. If he couldnt get passed a simple designation his first officer prefered to use that makes him a total dick.

There were so many "moments" like that one calling back to the other series, especially TOS, TNG and Voyager. I stopped counting them. My favorite was the nod to TMP and Doug Trumbull's "First Person Cinema" in EP9 on the bridge and we're seeing it just as they see it with Jerry Goldsmith's "The Enterprise" accompanying.

That look Deanna gave Will just before the embrace and kiss was endearing. You could see the relief and love. Marina is such a great actress in conveying that emotion without saying a word. Marina said on The Ready Room this season that the Paramount suits did not want a relationship between Troi and Riker during the series, but both Frakes and Sirtis pushed back because the fans wanted it. So glad it turned out this way.

Sometimes one must wonder why the top brass at Paramount as well as Berman are so aversive towards the Riker & Troi romance- Frakes & Sirtis originally wanted a RikerXTroi wedding in TNG S7, but that was shut down by Berman who gave us the odd coupling of WorfXTroi instead, and it wasn't till Insurrection Riker got back with Deanna and only married during Nemesis!

@DougC Me, too! It would have been FUN to see our beloved crew going on light patrol duty with our great lady, along with a few other ships 🚢. After all, since there was at least *one* admiral on board, and it has already been long-past time for Captain Will Riker to command the Enterprise-D, there really needed to be a fleet to go along with the Enterprise-D. I'm still hoping that our resurrected Captain Data will be taking command of the Enterprise-F, in time.

@rob062388 I feel like the D is now a sort of hybrid now, a fully autonomous starship that can be operated by just commands from the bridge a kind of command yacht. But unlike the Aledo from Lower Decks Geordi did not make her into a drone. I don't think it can serve as a proper fleet capable starship... but hey who knows maybe Geordi can take her out for a spin. AND in my imagination I see Geordi allowing the Legacy cast once they determine who they will be to borrow her for a base of ops during a crisis. Although I feel like an other option for the Big D is for geordi to cut out some or the modifications and create monitored workstations and classrooms for a schoolship type set up and loan her out to Starfleet Academy for the developing Star Trek Academy show you know? And maybe recruit some of the old geezers of the TNG era to serve as instructors

Same here. Fading out from the bridge scene was a moment of finality for all of them on that ship and it was wonderful and bittersweet. I was 12 when TNG went off the air. I used to fly my Enterprise D toy all over the house and even arrange the chairs in my living room like the bridge. Bringing this ship back was totally unexpected and for me and felt like coming back home and being 12 again and getting to see old friends that I thought were long gone. “If ever there were better evidence that the past mattered, it’s right here.”

I feel Tuvok was ther perfect person to give her the news of her promotion. Janeway was like a second mother but Tuvok was probably her closest friend. He was the most relateable person on the crew. No one knows her like Tuvok does. Not even Admiral Janeway. He was there when she found The Raven and when she overwhelmed by other personalities, he went into her mind and pulled her out. If they do a show with the Titan/Enterprise G crew, I hope they do a scene where we see a Voyager reunion and Janeway gives Seven her 4th Pip.

Finally Seven got her promotion to Captaincy that she long deserved. It would've been better had the promotion was given by Admiral Janeway given their long relationship all the way back to Voyager's "Scorpion" (S3 finale). However, Tuvok-Seven relations also dated back from all those years and Tuvok did see her as his mentee. He must be pleased with what Seven has accomplished as well 😉

The original bridge concept was them basically commanding from a two story cafe of sorts. They also originally had the idea of a 4 story city street in the saucer section (like some cruise ships now have in their center). Roddenberry actually said there were probably only 6 or 12 of the Galaxy class exploring around as they were so huge. Of course, that's not the way the series went though.

Jeri Ryan addressed this in an interview, she was trying to get figure out Seven's voice before production and realized that she would have faced massive bias because of her Borg remnants. The character's response to this was to deliberately become as human as possible. It worked well, I think.

While we all love Tuvok, does anyone wish it's Admiral Janeway instead who chairs Seven's investigation, at 4:34 said to her "resignation denied, Captain!" then proceeds to pin the Captain's pip on her right collar? It would've been a very moving scene seeing Janeway-Seven relations comes full circle

Jerri Ryan and Kate Mulgrew by all accounts had and have a frosty relationship. I suspect an Admiral Janaway scene with Seven was not on the cards but confirmation that Tuvok survived the changelings was much appreciated, and who knows if Paramount pick up where Picard left off we will get to see Tuvok again as an Admiral.

Jeri Ryan and Kate Mulgrew had a very rocky relationship during VOY. Even though they have officially appeared together on conventions and set their past difficulties aside, I can imagine that there is still some uneasyness when both are in the same room. Officially, Terry Matalas intended to have Admiral Janeway as a cameo but it had to be cut due to budget cuts.

The Titan is a bad design overall. It was a fan-made ship intended to be around in Kirks era, and Matalis loved it so dropped it into post-TNG Trek where it looks so dated and out of place. It is one of two horrible missteps he made. The other is renaming the Titan to Enterprise.
