I would like to see the interior quality of one of those Red Duce.
@joshh90903 жыл бұрын
Red deuce is a beautiful tomato. It’s one of the ones we grow most of every year. Good solids ratio
@berrymanmontgomery78753 жыл бұрын
@@joshh9090 I agree it is "beautiful" on the outside, BUT it is the interior quality that I would like to see.

Insides are great. Good pulp to red ratio and good flavor
@berrymanmontgomery78753 жыл бұрын
I know you don't have much choice when you pick that many tomatoes, BUT, when you refrigerate a tomato you change the flavor. I am in a position when I sell my tomatoes, that I do not have to refrigerate them. For me and my customers it is ALL about flavor.

Farmer Dre I used master blend like you suggested best harvest in 30 years thanks for tip do you think every 14 days is to much
@dukedog34233 жыл бұрын
Hi Dre,I started using your Master Blend on my field tomatoes and its working great. Are you saving your green ones to sell?

I bought these tomatoe seeds from Poland this summer. They're blooming now, but they've only grown to about 6 inches tall, but are completely full of cherry tomatoes. Anybody ever seen anything like that???

How often do you fertilize, when your watering? Thanks for the Great videos!
@joshh90903 жыл бұрын
It’s rare that you don’t add a little something when watering. I may only irrigate once a week for a field but I’ll run it for long enough to get an inch and I’ll also add fert

What causes the marbled yellowing on the leaves? I have a couple plants with this, thought they might have some sort of disease.

If you sell at farmers market why is it important to have number one and number two quality
@joshh90903 жыл бұрын
Nobody will buy a number 2 quality tomato at the higher price. Number 2 will go at a canning price. You have to keep a reputation and quality standard

How come you pick the short stems that are left on the tomatoes after you pick them off the plant? I always thought those look kind of pretty 😂🤷
@joshh90903 жыл бұрын
They can damage the other fruits and you’d have to sell them for less
@johnhall16143 жыл бұрын
I know the mulch is to help with weeds, but does it also help keep the top of the tomato from splitting
@joshh90903 жыл бұрын
I’m the field yes. Anything you can do to control the water on your plants will stop them from splitting. When half the plant starts to ripen we cut off the water from then on unless it’s super dry
@johnhall16143 жыл бұрын
@@joshh9090 yeah in my garden I'm having trouble with splitting tops. I'm going to try some mulch around them. Thanks.
@benjaminorduno84293 жыл бұрын
I believe if the Tomato is splitting your over watering
@johnhall16143 жыл бұрын
@@benjaminorduno8429 I have seen the splits around the tomato on the skin, but this is the very top getting deep cracks. Is that a sign of over watering as well
