I saw a drawing of these in a magazine when I was a kid and I thought it was such an unique, exquisite flower. Almost 30 years later I finally discovered a flower shop that sells daffodil bulbs here in Brazil (they're not common at all in my country) and I purchased two bulbs for a rather expensive price. After a month in a vase, one has finally sprouted. I just hope the other one will do so too!

I will be planting some new yellow and orange varieties this autumn, to replace the mostly white ones I dug up and divided back in May and June. I have also grown some deluxe varieties in the past and they can be stunning.

I've just moved and dug up all mine as well! I totally understand not leaving them, it was actually good fun seeing how much they'd multiplied and has been exciting to redesign and plant them all again 😊 absolutely love your videos, it's always a highlight, good luck with everything and all the flowers next spring 😍

I've had so much success with the very long lasting mini daffodils "baby moon." I think they lasted a month last May/June, multiple flowers per stem, so lovely.

I planted some new varieties of daffodils this fall. Lots of miniatures daffodils. I never realized there way so many! I’m already giddy to see them come up next spring. The common store bought varieties are rather boring. Thank you for sharing your daffodils with us.

I have about 600 tulip bulbs waiting for me in The fridge at my new house in Arkansas. I did feel safe leaving them out till I get moved over in the middle of November. I hope we aren’t frozen outside by then. I. Moving to mountain home AR. Same zone as yours 6b/7a. There are two lakes on either side town so it will be great to see how the winter goes.

Eagerly waiting on your next video :) im at the end of spring in my garden (new zealand) and I love watching your videos so im always prepared for the coming seasons. You're the reason i planted daffodils and tulips this year! My ranunculus failed so i definitely need a re do on that next year, but i'm hoping my Zinnias do well over summer at least x

I saw your segment first on youtube. I want to plant daffodils, but do the bulbs regrow and multiply naturally? Or why do people dig up their bulbs and replant them? I have subscribed. Beautiful hybrinated flowers, happy gardening. 😊

Hi - if you buy a bulb that has already started to split into two bulbs, can you just break them apart? And will they bloom that year? Also, can you tell us more about growing the daffodils from seed and how that’s working? Thank you!

Have you tried snowdrops (galanthus) yet? I’m going to give them a try but I’ve been told they are hard to establish from bulbs. Not many good sources here in the US.

Hi, I do have a couple of questions Where do you order your “fancy” bulbs 😄 of course now I want them also Second in your video you show a bulb with a baby bulb attached. I always wonder it I can take that off or if I should better leave it on ans let it do it’s thing on their own

So this is only my second time planting fall bulbs, and I’m a little confused with what other people do with their bulbs at the end of the growing season if they want to use those same flower beds for summer annuals/perennials? I’m planning on digging them up at the end of the spring and replanting them for the summer in some raised beds in another area, does that sound feasible?
@angelicac.6995
@angelicac.6995 3 жыл бұрын
Usually you should try to plant perenials before you put in perenial bulbs. Personally when my dafodils come up in the spring I put a little marker next to them so that when I do my anual planting I don't accidentally hurt them or dig them up. Sometimes I forget though and I have still planted anuals on top of my bulbs and nothing bad seems to have happened.
@nuclearswan
@nuclearswan 3 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what you mean by planting perennials first. In my garden, nothing is ever really a perennial. The flower bed I use for tulips, daffodils, hyacinth, etc. is the same one I use for summer annuals, and some of them have really deep root systems, so I don’t know that you can just keep the bulbs there anyway without being disturbed when I plant my summer stuff. The bulbs would have to be moved at the end of the spring. Plus, I’m experimenting with different types every year, and I don’t have the space to just make new flower beds. Thanks though for your input!

This year I'm going to try to plant on top of them after the foliage dies off. I have such limited space around my small condo. They are deep enough (6") that I can easily plant annuals that come in 6 packs as the root balls will be around 2" high so I won't need to dig that deep.
@angelicac.6995
@angelicac.6995 3 жыл бұрын
@@nuclearswan I only mentioned perenials because you mentioned them in your original post. But my advice about annuals still stands. Try to mark where your bulbs are but if you dont I've planted annuals on top of bulbs before and it's been fine

If you don't plan on using your bulbs again for the following year then its no big deal when you pull them out of the ground but if you pull them out before the foliage dies back all the way then you are severely hindering the growth for next year. The leaves need to be left undisturbed and the leaves need to soak up as much sun as possible and die back naturally in order to grow and bloom their best the following spring.
