Medical personnels have duty to report this kind of cases and 15 year old getting a hysterectomy after a rape is life threatening injury! That predator should be in jail! I have one. Be warned, it is long and a bit fucked up. My old friend from 3ed grade came from a lot of money. They would dress her in the best clothes, give her the most expensive school supplies, and she was tutored at home to make sure she was at least a grade above everyone else. But, when she went to school, she was never sent with lunch money or food from home. She told me on many occasions that she was not allowed to, or she would go without dinner. I would share my lunch with her because I felt so bad. When lunch ended, she would sneak under the tables and eat scraps off the floor. And when she was found by staff, they did *nothing* about it. They would make her a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and send her back to class. As I got to know her, she told me that her parents were too busy to hang out. I went out of my way to invite her to choir, and art after-school activities. I was actually invited to her house one time. I was scheduled to leave the bus with her. I was excited because she told me her room was huge, that her house had a pool, and she had a computer that we could play Barbie games on. When we arrived at the stop, her mom told the bus driver that plans changed, and I wasn't allowed to stay. Both of us were super crushed. We tried to make a sleep over happen a few times after that, but her parents kept saying no. I knew her for ~4 months before she stopped coming to school. I don't remember the specific reason but I'm pretty sure some of the kids in our school told their parents about her, and they reported it to the authorities. I asked around to see if anyone knew what happened to her, but it was all rumor and speculation (like she went to Hollywood, they went on vacation to Europe, a family member died, etc).

My family tried to put out the image of a struggling-yet-close working class family with autistic kids and a heroic mother, but the reality was that both my parents were a lot better off than they seemed, I didn’t have autism and my “mother” was an extremely manipulative and borderline tyrannical sexual predator who, along with my father, abused me throughout my childhood and even my early adult years. Now the mask has slipped, she’s under police investigation and I’ve been estranged from my entire family for almost two years. A local safeguarding team is also keeping in eye on the household and performing routine checks to make sure things don’t get any worse. That woman forced me to live a lie for 20 years and I often feel like I’ve only just started properly existing the estrangement. I’m honestly hoping she goes to prison.

Honestly my advice would involve a knife for self defense as while potentially excessive in court ultimately you have the right to defend yourself as you see fit provided you don't go crazy. Ie knife for defending from someone attacking you ok! Same knife but attacking when the person isn't attacking in what can be argued as premeditated not as ok.

When I was young I thought my family was absolutely perfect, nothing was wrong between my parents and life was great, until last year December when my parents told me they wanted to divorce, it turns out my parents arent the picture perfect people I thought they were, my mom had a horrible childhood and she would literally have to take care of her parents because they would be drunk and smoke alot, idk much about my dad so I wont go into depth there. All I know is that things were happening behind the scenes and i never knew until this year. I was so confused, and realized that they have been hiding it all from me, they told my brother and sister but never me, I'm always the soft one in the family, so I guess they have a point, probably would not have taken that well. Still going though the whole process of living in two houses and trying to figure out what really happened BTS.

I just want to throw out there that I have several friends who are clinically bipolar. I have particularly known two of them at points of their lives where they thought their medication was optional and had episodes, and while there were definitely uh...pretty out there off their meds, none of them ever acted out violently in the slightest. I hope that no one here equates bipolarity with violence, but if you do know someone who is bipolar who thinks that they don't need their meds, that's a huge red flag. Thankfully the friends of mine who used to think that way at one point now take their meds regularly, and their lives are quite stable, even if one of them is just straight up weird, haha

it’s actually a fact that people with bipolar are at a significantly increased risk of violent behaviour, so I don’t think it’s entirely unfair to equate it to violence (more like associate than equate, there are of course other factors than just violence but it’s still a major part)
@tommyl5319

@@GarkKahn but it is optional- as ‘experts’ do not get to control others medical choices. Is it smart to go against a medical professional? No. But are there also doctors who are 100% wrong at times? Absolutely. As someone with bipolar and BPD- I need medication, and I know that. But that does not mean that every person with bipolar NEEDS medication. For those with less intense symptoms, with a good therapist and a solid support system- they may not need medication. It’s rare, from what I’ve heard, but it does happen. And no one should be required to take medication, even if it would drastically improve their life.

Story at 0:28 with the locked doors sounds like that family were the lead developers of the early Resident Evil games. "So how do you open this door?" "I see you acquired the blue butterfly key (Part A) that was hidden inside the dog house. Take the fragment of the scorpion relief from under the sofa and set it into the frame over the chimney to complete the relief of a scorpion riding on a chicken. This will cause the relief to come loose and reveal the golden scorpion-chicken-egg. Hatch this egg with the red light. It contains the ivory jewel box. Put in the amber with the dragonfly inside that I gave you earlier, so its weight will open a mechanism to reveal a hidden compartment inside the jewel box. It will have the blue butterfly key (Part B). Combine A and B to complete the key to the bathroom. Oh, and please bring everything back to where you found it when you are done."

If the older siblings were harmed physically, you are also in danger of it. Reach out to school nurse etc. Make a "safety-plan" which goes into action if something goes wrong. Make a list of actions to take, phone numbers to call. Source help already! And hopefully you never need to do anything with it, but it calms mind to know that in an emergency, you know what to do. Something tells me that the next time I see someone with straight A's, they're probably threatened with very harsh punishment back at home. Even though I got punished for bad grades and not turning things in many times in the past (the punishments were your typical electronic takeaways or the loss of the ability to do your favorite activities), it's usually because I wasn't using opportunities to do better and bring up scores. While the threat of electronic takeaways have pushed me to do well in school, and aim for C's and attempt to aim for A's and B's, the stories of the straight A kids are crazy to me.

This year, 2022 for future reference, I got back at him for secretly recording his voice with the camera app and put it on my now password or some how hacked Instagram account that I don't use anymore, of course. I put a couple of hashtags. my dad and I got into a heated argument with him yelling and raising his voice at me and vice versa after he left the dog locked upstairs in the upstairs bathroom and she was there barking while locked up since my dog liked to dig up and take out the upstairs bathroom trash. Later, after i secretly recorded him, he then found out at least 1 - 3 months later, told me to fully turn my phone off, checked for a recording device or security camera in my closet, and we talked. Thank God I posted that on my Instagram account that is saved on the account. I don't know if the account is still up, but don't care. I'm glad that I got him back, in a way, years later. EVEN FURTHER BACK my grandparents were in a racism-group type thing and they didn’t know it. I know this is not as bad as the others but this is still messed up

When I was at high school I had a crush on a beautiful girl in my class, I asked her out, she said no, no problem there as she had a reputation as an ice maiden and never dated anyone. fast forward a couple of years I end up becoming an apprentice engineer and worked alongside her dad who was my instructing tradesman, seemed a nice guy if a little batty, kind of a hippy and owned a pottery as a sideline/hobby. one day his daughter told her mum that dad had been regularly forcing himself on her since she was 13, she left him of course and took the kids police are not informed an no charges laid, then everyone knew why his daughter was so cold with guys, a few years later he married again to a Thai mail order bride (awful term but it describes it the way it is) and was soon national news when he murdered her and later killed himself in prison

My old babysitter is a registered nurse. Her husband died of an accidental OD on his depression meds and she's taken the time since to throw herself back into her career (she had completed nursing school in the 90s, but dropped out to raise their three kids). She's making lots of money and become heavily committed to her faith. Everything seemed on the up-and-up. The thing is, she was still collecting welfare checks under her married name, but applied for her new job under her maiden name and using her mother's social security number (they're only 18 years apart). The cops arrested her and she's been charged with multiple counts of fraud.

So few people understand reality. I find the best way to describe it is in terms of math. All of life can be boiled down to math. To get a positive you must endure a negative. Success always comes at a price. Everything "good" comes at a price. The key to happiness is figuring out what that price is before you decide to pay it. So often do people only focus on what they are gaining without paying attention to the price that they either are or will in the future be forced to pay until suddenly the price/negative becomes overwhelming in one way or another. This is a bit of an over simplification because in truth most "prices" aren't written in stone beforehand....there is a chance that this one or that one may happen (usually alongside one or two "prices" that are guaranteed to happen). So the real task is assessing the risk and deciding what you are willing to live with if the risk percentage turns out to not be in your favor. For a simple example this is why most people don't commit murder (removing morals because most of us, myself included, don't truly have any and only pretend to so we fit in with the rest of society who is also mainly pretending). Say you hate your boss and want to kill him. The benefit of murder is (in this example) an emotional satisfaction and a 80% chance of a better work environment. The risk is a 95% chance of life in prison and a 20% chance of an equally bad or worse work environment (based of your knowledge of who is likely to replace him). So obviously the risk of a price that is waaay higher than the benefit (life in prison) is enough to deter you from murder. That is why most murders are either for a huge amount of life insurance (still not worth the overwhelming risk but people who do this usually calculate a lower risk because they believe they can get away with it) or the other main reasons are emotional where the risk/reward isn't even considered due to the persons state of mind, such as heat of the moment murders (catch spouse cheating for instance) or serial killers who are driven by an emotional obsession of some sort. This is why I committed a ridiculous amount of felonies as a child (because the risk of a child facing lasting consequences is very low) but as I got older I decided the only crime worth risking is using heroin because the reward of the pleasure is extremely worthwhile and the risk of paying the price of prison is very low given my circumstances (living in a big city where cops are focused on murder and gangs/luckily having a good job so I can afford my drugs without further crime/having them delivered -not by mail obviously, by my dealer-to my house instead of driving around with them/only using at home). Understanding this has allowed me to live a very happy life

Idk the situation for the poster, but all growing up my family had to keep most of the doors in our house under lock and key. The reason was because my twin brother has severe Autism and it was unsafe for him to be anywhere we didn’t have direct line of sight of him at all times. Especially at night. Any door or window leading out of the house was especially locked and fortified. We would keep every room that wasn’t the main room we were all in locked and there was nothing at all in the hallways so that we knew he was safe. He also had many severe food allergies so, yes, we kept the fridge and pantry chained and padlocked. Not an ideal way to live, but kept my brother safe. As he has gotten older and had many intensive therapies and such my family hasn’t had to keep everything on lockdown quite as much, but they do still chain and padlock the fridge and have a number code lock on the pantry that changes every so often. The front and back doors are also still locked at all times from the inside but we don’t really have to worry about him bolting as much at night because he loves his sleep now haha

TW: Mental Health and Trauma as Well as a Multitude of Their Potential Results Four in one: One: My best friend’s family. I’m not saying her mom didn’t rub me the wrong way but a grotesque deal of the goings on in the house that I only found out about a year ago were downright disgusting. Aside from her brother SAing her and other members of her family, her mom’s physical abuse, making her stand facing a wall for so long she peed herself, all earlier in her life (like birth through elementary school), when she got to high school when I met her she started dating this guy who acted like an absolute doofus around everyone else but after the first time HER SAed her, he told her no one would ever believe her, she’s stuck with him, just read a textbook on domestic abuse and you’ll probably get the idea. She told her family, her friends who she trusted (not me but I’m not part of that community, i.e. I’m not Mormon), and only got the typical shame for it. Fast forward a breakup later and four more years of familial abuse, her brother repeats his crime from their childhood. She’s done well for herself since then- a relatively wealthy husband, a kid and another on the way soon, and she cut her horrible mother out entirely. She still has her issues of course but I would be surprised otherwise. I’m always so proud of her. Two: Our roommate had possibly a worse experience than my friend. One of her most common punishments was being forced to sit in a chair. For literal hours on end. Plus a beating if she moved or got up. Her parents literally referred to her sister and her as slaves. Unironically. And not whatsoever jesting. She was also a victim of SA and eventually grooming by this kid I had known growing up. He was kind of… pathetic back in the day so I wouldn’t have expected this but she was like a freshman or something and he was in his 20s. Her parents yelled at her for “leading him on” because “he could go to jail.” That might be good for him though. Three: My wife grew up with seemingly the perfect life (as did I but this isn’t about me). Seemingly kind, loving mother, a stupendously supportive father, decent grades. But her relationship was already strained when I started dating her. I picked up on it when no one else did but her mother was very judgmental, critical, condescending, and downright horrible to her. How in the hell I was the first person to see this, I don’t know but the point is, I did. I tried telling her years ago and she told me off like “my mom would never treat me bad” but I started picking up on a multitude of signs of issues. Especially when we had our first child. When she got upset, it was damn near like a bomb went off. I’m somewhat surprised we’ve never had the cops called on us for her vocal volume. That’s when it all started to click. I realized pretty fast, she legitimately isn’t in control of it when she reaches that point. I mean, I’ll bet I read the typical “she’s an adult she should know etc” but she also has undiagnosed ADHD and probably also autism. Lifelong trauma on top of a thinking pattern LITERALLY diverged from the typical make for a tendency to switch on a moment’s notice. Or lack thereof. I finally put it together when she told me she really didn’t remember most of her childhood. No stories from just about any year in elementary school (astoundingly that didn’t involve me at least as we’ve known each other since I was seven and she was five), her yelling, watching how her mother treated her (fat shaming relentlessly as of late because the woman is on ww but adhering to the diet like every day is cheat day), it’s all just about the most involuntary projection I’ve ever seen. But it gets so much worse. In 2021, on my birthday, I had chest pain that radiates to my left arm and shoulder, nausea, and a pulse in the 170s. We called 911 because we had no idea what was going on. Mind you, this issue had been a consistent one for months with admittedly far too many ER visits. To spare that story, it turned out I was going through withdrawals from 600mg/3x per day of Gabapentin because my PCP decided it was okay for me to just quit cold turkey. I seriously don’t recommend it. However, due to those calls the fire chief made a ridiculous amount of assumptions but due to my condition at the time, my house was a horrendous mess. They took my kids and they ended up in my mother in laws custody. I became the scapegoat for the entire ordeal. I lost just about everyone’s support and any sense of self respect. Or self in general. Two months later, I tried to kill myself. Ended up in a mental hospital for about a week. Anyway, that’s another story altogether. We stayed home and cleaned the house most of the time, except when my MIL went to work and had us watch our own kids. I’m almost certain this wasn’t actually allowed but I figured that was better than leaving them completely alone. But obviously there were times when we absolutely couldn’t be there. Recently, we found out how bad things were over there when my seven year old mentioned how my MIL would smack their hands and butts with a spatula, how she literally left them, especially my five year old, ALONE to take her husband and mother places. But the most disturbing is what happened to my five year old. She told us that my FIL had on far more than one occasion changed in front of them. To the nude. And try to spy in on them in the shower. He took it one step further though when he, while naked, *touched my 5yo. I learned of this during a weekend when we had to stay over to make sure he took his medications on time. In retrospect I partly wonder whether it was an attempt to enable my FIL on her part but I can’t entirely be sure of that. Some of the things she’s said since then have me entirely convinced she knew/knows. I confronted him and have a confession in a video also of him trying to attack my wife. I doubt, however, this would actually hold up in court, being that he has PD. The MIL constantly denies it and has since called my 5yo a liar. I swear I hate that woman with every functional and dysfunctional fiber of my being. If I could, I would make it so she’d rot in a jail cell but that’s far from an option presently. For starters, I can’t even afford it. Also, I’m still not sure I have enough practical evidence in our favor. It’s a mess and I’m doing my damnedest to clean it up. But all this, on top of having Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, VA-rated 100% P&T disability from depression alone, and having a brain tumor has taken a severe toll on me and some old thought have recently been resurfacing. I’m in a panic and doing the best I can but my actions have been lethargic at best lately. Last night my wife literally called me a burden. Which I kind of have been. But talk about deepest fears come to life. Four: Similar to my wife, I had a seemingly decent childhood growing up. Until I recently realized otherwise. For starters, I honestly had no idea how abnormal it was for your mother to regularly slap you upside the head or call you dumbass or chicken legs because you weighed 65lbs in fifth grade after contracting NTS (Non-Typhoidal Salmonella) and losing ten pounds in one night. But the worst issue was when I didn’t do my chores in the first ask. Later, I learned it was likely because I was scared to do it wrong, having done so according to my mother and being berated for it afterward. But the most disastrous thing for me to do was forget the dishes. If that happened, she would rage and storm and end with throwing the dishes on the ground. It got so bad that I didn’t even remember this and had to be told by my dad recently. She’s been dead for a few years now so I can’t exactly confront her about it, but it hasn’t made performing tasks any easier. Best not do them at all rather than fail and be berated anyway for trying. Never got to learn how to do it properly… I’ve had to teach myself pretty much anything I know about cleaning, chores, errands, the works. I am not okay lol

My family isn't perfect my mom will yell at me for stuff I don't have control over and grab my hair or wrist when I have been giving her attitude and NO ONE see it but me and my brother she will also make me watch my sister for HOURS but when we have family dinners it's kinda just swept under the mat but that isn't the end of it she will force me out of my room and she knows that I can only handle so much people time (I will become emotionally exhausted and end up in tears) she doesn't really care though so I always dread family dinners. I am younger than my brother but I have 3x the work because "girls mature faster then boys!" Let me set the scene: A veteran preacher, single dad of three who’s hardworking. All three kids are smart and hardworking. Suddenly, the only son leaves. Single father says he acted out too much and went to his mother’s. Not too outrageous, son was known to lie and have a temper. The youngest daughter spent most of her time at her mother’s. Makes sense, messy divorce with a crazy mother, poor father. Eldest daughter- a little nervous and off kilter but friendly and kind, honors student, helps out with kids during church even if high strung. Suddenly, a few weeks after the eldest daughter turns 18 she leaves. I’m the eldest “daughter” (not a girl) and my father was abusive. He would hit my brother (the middle child) and gas light me and my sister (even hit me once). I was slowly spiraling towards a nervous breakdown and after he took away my phone (when I was eighteen and he didn’t even pay the bill for it) I snapped and left. I was done.

Yeah my family is very much like this. On the outside its pretty great. mom and dad are still together, three kids, nice house, both parents work full time, all the kids get decent grades and two of them do sports. In reality one of the kids (youngest) is extremely suicidal and has been since he was 11, one of them (the middle) is depressed and is hoping somebody will notice but no one ever does, and the third one (the oldest) is transphobic, homophobic, and whenever his grades arent very good, our parents wont let him sleep until he fixes it and wont help him at all. Our dad is also transphobic and will never accept the third son (who is trans) because he wants his perfect little girl back. Mom pretends to be accepting but isnt and the only person who will accept him is one of his brothers. Dad is abusive but not enough to get child services involved, and mom sits by and watches it happen and simply looks away when we look to her for help. waiting for the day i can move out and get away from everything. OH YEAH and the third son is autistic and no one pays enough attention to see or care.

LONG- Omg, so. I had an "instagram mom" as a neighbor last year. On ig she was the most attentive, caring, loving mom that was constantly taking him places like museums and hikes and would post EVERY SINGLE toy ahe bought him, would post her "home made meals" and all that ig picture perfect stuff. The first time I noticed that something didn't add up he ca.e over to my house to play with my son who is a few years older than him. They were in my backyard while I started making dinner. He had been at my house since 3 or so. I got plates ready and told him to go as his mom if he could eat spaghetti with my son. When he got back he asked me why it looked weird.... I said prolly cause I cooked ground beef then mixed in with the sauce and didn't put cheese on it yet. He tried it and was litterally telling me with every bit how good it was! How he didn't like the spaghetti his mom made now lol his mom came over at like almost 8 pm to get him and said thank you but was surprised he ate it. I asked why? She said she's never made him spaghetti before...... and he actually might not have ever had home made spaghetti....... I was like wait what? You post food from your kitchen daily. She door dashes, put it on her plates then posts it lol later in the summer he started coming to my house as early as 730 ish to "play". I would immediately make him cereal. Through out the weeks I noticed when he went to his house to get something I could hear him talking outside. I let it go. Come to find out his mom was locking the doors and communicating with him through ring doorbell camera. She wouldn't unlock the door if she didn't think it was "important" she would call me in a panic to send him over cause his dad was coming to pick him up. She didn't want him knowing he was basically in my care from about 730 am- around 10 pm daily. Neighbors would text me asking if I was home as this kid was waiting outside for hours until my son and I returned home. Called cops and told them the situation, I didn't want it to be a big thing but I'd asked mom multiple times to not lock him out and to not send him to me so early. Never helped. Cops called back a week later and said that because he was being taken care of, he was able to Communicate with her through ring doorbell and that he was being fed, ect. That cps wouldn't come out as it wasn't "extreme". I'll never forget that shit
