Seriously. They were intense. 20+ sets per body part (for Arnold) and supersets... training each group 3 days a week before a contest. I'd like to see this guy try...... and not complain. They believed in those high volume routines, and went as hard as they could to meet 5 sets per exercise 3-5 exercises per bp. The Golden era guys were lean and mean. Booyah.

I have your answer man : HONEY AND FRUITS FOR THE CARBS. That’s pretty much like how Paul Saladino or Kneesoverthetoesguy eat !!! High in proteins and fat and get as much carbs as u want from fruits and honey so u’ll have tons of energy. I have been eating that way and damn it changed my life. I have so much more energy and mental clarity, no crash after eating like when I eat rice (I continue eating thai rice about once or twice a week though because I enjoy it; its my cheat meal lol), I sleep so much better and need less sleep, libido through the roof, recovery from the gym (i do 3x full body per week) and sprinting (every other day) is excellent, i put on some size and muscles. The golden era diet can really work and be sustained on the long term (steak, cheese, butter, eggs etc are delicious) but just add as much fruit and honey u want !!!!!!!!

There was a difference between the before and after. You did look slightly bigger after and the stomach was flatter. Continue for 12 weeks with the fats and then 4 weeks of slowly removing an egg yolk and the chicken skin and going from 90/10 to 97/3...carb loading once a week.

So, in January I started a low carb (almost keto) type of diet and started lifting and boxing, and went from 280 (high fat low muscle) to 190(low fat moderate muscle) by August, so I definitely think the Golden Era had something right with diet and exercise

The “glucose pump” you’re referring to is caused by the increased “intracellular mass” that accompanies glucose intake. A good portion of that glucose is sent directly into tissue cells, along with accompanying resources like water, proteins, fats, and electrolytes. The glucose and its derivatives are used to immediately ensure processes producing ATP are fully supplied; additional glucose is chained together using fats to create glycogen and stored close by. All of this cellular activity also requires lots of water and electrolytes (and energy). Electrolytes are very small, as they are ions; meaning their major function is donating “charge”. But these guys change the charge of the cells and their components. The charge of the cell determines its predisposition to exchange nutrients with its surroundings. So when you ingest lots of carbs, you’re sending a signal that bountiful resources are available to the cells. They soak them right up.

I’d like to see how it goes for you after 30 days. Seems like you may have a more dramatic results in a slightly longer duration. Like what Chui Hin-chun used to do. He started introducing veggies now. So maybe his current diet is more suitable for your intake needs. I think that would make an interesting video for you. Love the content!

This is actually is my diet of the last 4 years.. I'm still putting on muscle easily, and body fat keeps dropping.... anyone who says you can't build muscle without carbs or muscle looks flat without carbs haven't done the diet long enough When you become fat adapted (after 4 to 6 months of nearly no carbs), your body automatically manages your blood glucose levels to a stable level, and its enough for your muscles to soak up that glucose floating in your blood, giving your muscles the full look again but without carbs I've went from 22% bf to 16% bf in the last 12 months, while maintaining a stable weight, gained maybe 5lbs in that time... so all my body fat weight dropped and replaced with muscle in a recomp.

Everyone on carnivore gets carb cravings and fatigue at the beginning. If you wanna do the low carb or carnivore diet you are gonna have to stick to it for at least 2-3 months before you get fatadapted. Takes time for the body to switch over to fat from carbs.

When I was on my heaviest and most intense training (quite a few years ago now), I would have a mostly fruit day one day a week; because eating so much meat and eating five times a day really made me feel like I had to give my gut a rest occasionally. I'd have cereal and milk and a banana for breakfast, and tea and cake in the afternoon, but everything else was as much fruit as I wanted. Whole load of calories, but nothing stodgy that needs to sit there being digested for hours. Also, if you try a fruit fast for a few days, you will totally clean out everything that's been clinging to every corner of your intestines for years.

The recommendations these days for eating grains and the shift it brought to the fitness industry, in my opinion, was not in favor of our health... if you feel like experimenting on the diet, i would do it for a month and combine it with int. fasting, i believe you wil feel a lot bether

But every now and then you'll get a craving, and i just go with keto ice cream (allulose/monk fruit sweetened) ... as long as you get to 80% to satisfying the craving, you're golden
