If you are looking to get stronger legs, let us not overcomplicate things. Do back squats, front squats, eccentrics and just follow a periodised program. If you are getting crushed by cleans and not able to stand up maybe look beyond strength and address what will likely be KEY technical issues :)

I started transitioning to paused back squats so that I sit on the ground in a squat with the weight still on my back. When training any move, I find that you are cheating yourself in the exercise if you don't stop your momentum before changing direction.

I don’t agree with cheating yourself as I’m all for lifting the most weight possible and using a stretch reflex does help that but saying that, removing the bounce helps A LOT with positional strength, mobility and overall leg strength
