Rose shattering Pink Diamond kind of changes how Yellow's desire to see the Earth destroyed comes off. Before it seemed like she was just being petty over losing the war, now it's the place where a fellow Diamond was murdered.

Also, because I always like to include these: Smokey's pronouns are they/them!! Generally speaking, full gems, full gem fusions, and corrupted gems are referred to by she/her pronouns but they're genderless. Fusions with Steven (Stevonnie and Smokey) go by they/them. And the humans make their pronouns pretty clear for themselves.

Smoky quartz has to be my third favorite fusion. It is right behind stevonnie at #1 and garnet at #2. I just immediately loved everything about smoky. Part of it is probably how OP they are

one thing i love about smoky is their asymmetrical design. the 3 arms is very different from other fusions (and some may disagree with me) but i think its cool. it shows how "imperfections" dont necessarily impede your abilities, which really works nicely with amethysts issues with self worth and comparing herself to jasper

Rose was always put on a pedestal by Greg, Pearl, Amethyst and Garnet. However not every one shared that feeling/opinion so Steven has to accept that his mom wasn’t much of a saint as the Crystal Gems make her out to be. I wanna tell you more but spoilers!! Even though the Crystal Gems "won" by defeating Jasper and then the Ruby Squad, this is kind of a downer season ending. We learn that Rose Quartz shattered Pink Diamond, which shatters Steven's Inage of her mother. Also, Steven, who has had great success up until now making friends with enemies, strikes out with Bismuth, Jasper, and Eyeball.

I love your reactions and how insightful you are with your discussions. If you remember back to when Bismuth was talking about Stevens weapon, she brought up how she crafted the sword to be able to poof the body, but never harm the actual gem. Rose may have been kind and want peace, but she was the leader of a war... and like Garnet said in season 1, all great leaders keep some secrets. I miss this aspect of the show, theorizing and combing over all the details and layers of the characters. So excited to keep watching along with you!

"Bubbled" blatantly showed that Steven has developed a major personality problem. He was so determined to make "Eyeball" happy he couldn't see he was putting himself in danger. Remember when he was so ready to help Kiki Pizza with her nightmares he messed up his own sleep cycle? I think the show starts to reveal that there is actually a major risk to a child protagonist's mental and physical health if the adults are not protecting them from the dangers of "adventure". Almost any other child hero show ignores the effects peril and danger has on their protagonists.

Smoky Quartz is my favorite fusion and one of my favorite characters, and it made me sad that we couldn't see more of the fusions because it would mean less screentime for the main characters (their original forms, at least).

Just an fyi, all Gems use she/her pronouns, even more "butch" Gems like Rubies, Jasper, Bismuth, etc. Gems are sexless but all identify as female, using she/her pronouns, and being voiced by female voice actors. Jasper is female, she is voiced by Kimberly Brooks, who also voices various other Quartzes you'll meet later

a thing to keep in mind is the timeline(maybe you should make one) the "war" was nearly a millennia of duration and many things happens in the middle. "who is rose?" this is the great question of the show. Bismuth was one of the original CG back when they where five and made the five-pointed star symbol (rose, pearl, ruby, sapphire, and bismuth) and she also said some things comparing Steven to Rose(i think that bismuth strife with rose was already brewing for some time before the literal "breaking point"). its my headcanon but to me steven dont actually need breath to be alive but he certainly shuts down in the vacuum. in ocean gem he was fine when Connie was already drowning and was fine after easilya dozem minutes on the water tower as wheel the sparse atmosphere on the top. in warp tour the between warp space is vacuum

smoky quartz just looks so fun! yo-yo's are the best weapons hands down! "My diamond. YOUR diamond! PINK D I A M O N D!" jaspers incredious face is something else. either she A: realized this 'steven' really isnt rose quartz, or B: this 'rose quartz' cared and thought so little of her diamond she didnt even bother to remember her original purpose. also technicallyy, peridot got the final kill on jasper, making her the boss now. i dont make the rules :P and we get to see how the corruption really works. you cant 'fuse' it out of someone. like a virus or a disease. i love the rubies god their so dumb. but that eyeball ruby definitely has seen some shit. congrats steven, your moms a murderer! *pops poppers* hooray!
