Here Comes a Thought is genuinely one of my favorite songs. When this episode came out, I actually showed that scene to my therapist, and she started playing it for some of the kids she was working with to demonstrate mindfulness. Rebecca Sugar actually wrote the song after them and Estelle were talking about their experiences with panic attacks. Messages like that are so valuable for kids to see. This show is so important, and that's one of the reasons why.

Maybe its just me but did anyone notice how Connie and Ruby are the same and lay down looking at eachother and vice versa with Steven and Saphire. Ruby doesn't let things sit but looses it at one thing. One thing thows her all out of it and she can't focus on anything else. Saphire let's her problems build up and ignores them. She doesn't deal with them until they all come crashing down at once. Connie is broken up about one thing and it compleatly threw her off. Steven doesn't deal with anything until... it all comes out at once. He ignores them just like Saphire. Maybe it wasn't intended but they are literally mirrors of eachother. I love it.

Mindful Education is one of my favorite episodes. They brought in a guest animator for some scenes, Takafumi Hori, which is why the animation is extra good at times. Rebecca wrote the song Here Comes a Thought to deal with a stressful time in her life, and then the episode was actually written around the song.

Everybody feels that there are too many townie episodes lmao. Not entirely the crew's fault. Cartoon Network wanted more episodic episodes (That could be watched without needing previous context) rather that serialised episodes. So there's that lmao

my sister sobbed when she first watched mindful education. its such an emotionally important episode not just for steven and connie, but also its viewers. you HAVE to address that you feel bad before you can feel better about yourself. stevens "i just dont think about it" is such a fuckin mood. its unhealthy but its also realistic. "Here comes a thought" thank you garnet. also, seeing steven being genuenelly terrfied and angry at his mother is so sad. she just looks so angry, like he feels he disappointed her, or that she failed to uphold her 'image'. rebecca giving us the sad gays makes my day. also thank you onion xD we LOVE to see pearl being the badass we know she is! get them numbers pearl! drink that juice! its like their personalities all switched for this episode xD "I havent been that scared since you almost let me die!" which time steven? pearls tried that a bunch o_o

Things I also loved from last one out of beach city - Mystery girl totally was checking Pearl out when she walked up to her at the concert. You can actually see her look her up and down XD (and like what she was seeing) Hope to see more of these some time! Take care and hope you're well! Fun thing you can go back and look at: In the mindscape where Steven is remembering the events, the expressions on Bismuth and Jasper's faces are different than their faces when the events happened. While it's not said outright, common SU meta is pretty sure that's because of Steven's empathy powers. That he knew how scared they actually were which is why it shows up in his memories differently.
