Pinoy-style rice bowls drawing interest from LA foodies

A new Filipino restaurant in Downtown LA is capturing the attention of area food fanatics. The men behind Rice Bar aim to introduce Pinoy flavors to LA's diverse palette. Steve Angeles visits for a taste in this report.

been around the Philippines and i've heard that pampanga food is the best in the whole Philippines, but was dissapointed when i've tasted it. It is so generic and bland. No offense, just all hype. Want to taste delicious food without the the hype bullshit labeled by tagalog people and from the north? go to Cebu or any Visayan island. There you can taste the best dishes the Philippines can offer. No bullshit

nowadays, you could not go to pampanga's touristy resto or kanto carinderia to eat real good pampangueño food. however, if you will get to taste homemade pampangueño foods, then you would know that theirs is one of the best.

@@lightofheaven134 I agree.... I've been to different provinces and pampanga is one of them. The food tastes bland, sort of manufactured, and the ingredients are not really fresh. Tried different restaurants and it all tastes the same. So disappointed. It shouldn't be called the culinary capital of the philippines but rather the pokpok capital due to the number of pokpoks there.
