That it is. Looking forward to skating Friday night. Just hope the weather holds up. That wonderful British weather.

This is beast mode: skates as weights on your feet; backpack messing with fore-aft balance; the stick and camera for the only muscle group that is not usually engaged in inline skating. Aaaaaand then you bomb that hill... and go again. That's that shit, Bill.

you make it all seem so simple. :-D As winter has now fallen upon the fair town of Detroit, and I'm nowhere near the skill level required to safely skate in the snow unlike some here :-) i'll be saving this up for my bag of tricks for when spring comes back around. I'll be in California a lot before then, where the weather will remain much nicer, but I'm not going to try things that could easily kill me if I fail at them, when I'm 3000 miles away from my family.. so I'll just be practicing the things that I'm already mediocre at, and maybe hopefully learning to skate backwards. :D

Even at 45 degrees, I still find that I'm bashing my front wheel into the risers. Is there a trick to tranferring that forward momentum up the stairs instead of bashing it onto the front wheel?

From the video it looks like he using a strong inside edge and with that bouncy stance it will propell you upwards.

Are there any particular design of stairs to be more wary of? Like if each step has an overhanging lip or something, for example.

An instructive pleasure as always, thanks Bill! I just ordered some 90 mm skates and wonder if you or anyone else out there has experience moving up to larger wheels. Hoping for a smoother roll on rough surfaces -- is it still possible to learn to rip those quick stops all your viewers envy?
@aev607510 жыл бұрын
I skated 90mm all summer. It's totaly doable, if slightly harder than with smaller wheels. Then again, I'm not nearly as good as he is when it comes to sharp stops.

Hey E. I made the switch to 90 mm recently and it is awesome. They are a lot faster and rough stuff is tons easier. Which is a good thing in Rotterdam. Then again. The overall quality of my new skates is a large improvement over my former pair. So there might be some bias there.... Stopping is ok I think.I only started to do that stuff in my new 90 mm ape enablers, so I don't really know if it's a lot harder but it's doable. And I'm not quite at Bill's level yet in general. Good luck and have fun!

Saus age Cool, I was on 84s this summer but they were worn down to 80s probably. I was practicing my powerslides in a parking garage, going up one slab at a time, like 10 feet, coasting and then stopping at the bottom until I crashed, then going down a slab. I call it going to fear school, it's how I learned to stop very fast on the heel brake when I was a beginner. .. uh 2 years ago.

icternol Hey I.C., thanks for your comment and encouragement. The new skates are on the way... oh wait, they're backorded. Heh heh... so you're skating rough in Rotterdam, does that mean cobblestone streets in the Innenstadt? I know a lot of our British friends deal with that. I am in New Jersey USA and our roads are either rough as a cob with potholes or newly paved smooth black asphalt, depending on where they get to. Roll on, die Holländer sind wohl die besten auf der Welt!

I wear size 12-12.5 on 80mm (the boot is more in front than the wheels). I keep hitting the boots even at 45degree or more. Anyone has a solution for this? Don't want to destroy my brand new toys

I dont know about everybody else who watches your videos... but surely the repertoire of your tee slogans could be expanded? I was hoping to be able to find some golden nuggets like "Because jogging is for suckers", or "Because walking is boring"... but nope. I would buy a "Because jogging is for suckers" tee, btw.
