@krizilloo2538 - I think I get what you’re saying. It is a dream role, but as an actor is a heavy role. Emotionally taxing. He does it so well that his offering (the best way of thinking what the term ‘sacrifice’ means) seems to be the proper one. ❤

This is strange of me, but I am dreading Season 5 of The Chosen. I don’t want to see Jesus go through what I know is coming. In my head I know it is Jonathan the actor, of course; I expect it will be physically, emotionally, and spiritually taxing for him. I cried like a baby when I saw The Passion of the Christ. Dearest Jonathan, my heart broke as I listened to this interview with you. I wish I could be able to help you. My daughter made the comment that the name of the show is The Chosen and you have very well been a chosen vessel to touch and open the eyes of thousands upon thousands of souls through your work. Yet at the same time you also must carry this very heavy cross. With Jesus. That's actually a very lovely gift if we can understand the magnanimity of suffering. There is no glory without the cross. Don't forget the brief time in this world and remember to God's chosen there will one day be perfect, complete, never-ending, joy and fulfillment . Always ask for and God bless you with abundant Graces. Keep a chin up and know Our Lord and Lady have you covered if you but ask them. Please be assured of my prayers. God bless you, Johnathan.

@ShelleyHetherington3 ай бұрын
My favorite part about Jonathan's portrayal of our Savior is how he conveys His mercy. I'm thinking of the scenes where Jesus heals both the leper and the bleeding woman. The way Jonathan interprets Jesus' understanding of their suffering, and then fully offers His willingness to heal them, is overwhelming. His face...the agape love and mercy, just reduce me to tears every time I watch it. We were all that leper before Christ...unclean and helpless. I saw Jonathan reciting the powerful Divine Mercy Chaplet somewhere on a video before and it makes sense that he is so in tune with how much we all need that mercy (for the sake of His sorrowful passion...).

@@DelMcAlpine Apparently you don't read the comments on YT much. The vitriol and hatred against Catholics and the Church is disgusting.
@DelMcAlpine3 ай бұрын
@@diamondlou1 Apparently I do. I have seen both sides. What does that have to do with what I said? How does putting what is on Mr. Roumie’s shirt and claiming “one true faith” help? Yup - people can be crappy and make crappy remarks. And this shirt might be considered crappy and insulting to many non-Catholic Christians whose faith is true to them. Crappyness all the way around. Shame.
@DelMcAlpine3 ай бұрын
After thinking about this a bit more….what I see in the comments - is both Catholics and non-Catholics defending their faith and beliefs. One side is being told their faith is not the true faith - one comment said - there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church. So that side responds back with either questions or complaints about being told their faith is meaningless, but my faith is true - and found by Jesus himself. Doesn’t wearing this shirt - add to that? I am all for people being proud of their faith - and having a strong belief. And they have every right to talk about that. But why this way? It is arrogant. I don’t think Jesus approves of arrogance. From a man like Mr. Roumie - who is said to be humble and I believe preaches humility - this is a bad example of it.
@diamondlou13 ай бұрын
@@DelMcAlpine With all due respect, I really don't think you've seen both sides. Since I converted 8 years ago, I really have been shocked by the lies I've read by so-called "Bible believing" Christians against the Catholic Church (e.g., we worship Mary & the saints, we're idolatrous, Catholics aren't real Christians, etc.). It's very sad. So Jonathon wears a shirt quoting a well-known Catholic writer...so what? The Eucharist is the source & summit of our faith, and he's right to defend it. And also in his defense, I don't think he ever said that Catholicism is the 'one true faith', but if you can provide a link proving otherwise, I'll be happy to apologise. Peace, brother (or sister).
@DelMcAlpine3 ай бұрын
@@diamondlou1 So let’s show respect for all denominations who follow the teaching of Jesus. You have seen disrespect for the Catholic Church. I have as well. But there is plenty of disrespect for non-Catholic Christians coming from your side as well. You haven’t seen that? And if you did, would you agree with it ? I don’t know. This saying and broadcasting it on a shirt is an example of that disrespect. And you are agreeing with it. And I don’t think I was saying that my example of one true faith - came from Mr. Roumie. But from other Catholics. But I assume that he - and you as well - would agree with that. Funny - I just read an Instagram share with a supposed quote from Mr. Roumie. In it he talks about humility and to have that you must be “open” and “accepting” or along those lines. How does this shirt and saying show humility as he explains it? Nothing open about it.

I’m getting confused, some people are saying that the shirt’s statement is disrespectful because it can divide other Christians, if he believes in the statement and another person disagrees with it, and get offended by it, then is that not the one doing the dividing?! To make it simpler If one chose not to believe in the truth of God’s own Word in the first place then they have chosen to be divided. Because God never lies and wouldn’t proclaim something that isn’t truth. A choice has been already made long ago before this sentence was even placed on the shirt. And just because there is disagreement doesn’t mean that there cannot be mutual respect for each person’s decision, we can still get along!

a word for Jonathan that I hope it helps, the Holy Spirit, Jesus himself will guide you through that life of fame, he will equip you with the necessary wisdom to tackle any given problem or situation that you might run into in life. Also, it is good that you suffer throughout this process keeping in mind that Jesus was the man of sorrows and I know and you know that sorrow comes from the things that don’t necessarily go our way or want to happen in a certain way but He is building it up in you so that you can relate more and more to the real Jesus and to come to a certain grasp of how it truly was to be Jesus and it will help you to portray Him to the screen more accurately because the Holy Spirit will carry you through these trials since the real Jesus had the most of them. I mean he plays the founder of our religion, God on Earth, the greatest man to ever live, the most influential human had ever lived. Jesus has had such a profound effect on so many people Dad goes way deeper than just physical. So it's not like anyone has been affected by Jack Nicholson the way they've been affected by Jesus. I'm sure it's pretty heavy. He's doing an amazing job and in my opinion this is the greatest telling of jesus's story after that's ever been. It really makes you realize the man aspect of him.
