For that 1st "bug": I confirm the NS7III behaves the same way. I believe the Rane One has the same "problem". However, this isn't a bug. It's intentionally designed this way. As a turtablist, you know a traditional turntable doesn't instant start. With even the highest torque, a turntable has a short wind-up period when hitting play. These motorized platters have the same problem to overcome. However, the Serato engineers realized they can instant start a sound, even on a motorized platter, if they program the software to ignore that wind-up period of the platter. When you hit play, it takes Serato a half second to know if you are holding the platter or if it's just winding up. That's the short sound you hear. Hope that makes sense? Cheers!

Yeah it makes sense, turning the start time in serato settings alleviates this but eliminates the fast start option to use it as a controller. I would have to switch the settings every time and would be bothersome to keep changing it to get the overall outcome of a bug that shouldn't be there in the first place.

I test this on my numark ns7 3, i found the same issue on start stop, when i put my hand on vinyl and press start, i hear the song start playing. But with your tip, i push the start time buton just a little bit, it work for me. Thank you 🙏 it seems like a serato issue.

@curt3562 жыл бұрын
I didn't look at it as a bug. I thought because it's a motorized platter it would prevent any song from having a drag when you hit the start button.
@harlemfire2 жыл бұрын
I heard it does that to prevent wind up sound so you get an instant start. Once the device recognize you're holding the platter it stops and sets it back to the point where you are holding it

The Rane one is completely different. It is basically. Two channel version of the Numark ns7 three with fewer functions. It also uses the exact same motor drives from the Numark Ns7. I own both. Including a rev 7
@mark_spit78392 жыл бұрын
That issue you're having with the platter / track jumping back is because you have the stop speed knob adjusted to the fastest position. If you turn it clockwise a bit, it should help. This also happens on Technics if they're not calibrated properly.
@djsupafly12 жыл бұрын
yeah I've done this but it eliminates the fast start controller dj's are used to. I would have to go in settings everytime I have to switch it.

@@djsupafly1 So my friend came by with his Rane 1 this weekend and we messed about with the Stop Time knob on the controller. If it's adjusted all the way to the fastest setting, it behaves just like your Rev 7 - it jerks back just a little bit and starts instantly. When adjusted to the 12:00 position it grinds to a halt, BUT STILL STARTS UP INSTANTLY. Even at the slowest Stop setting it starts up just fine - does not wind up. I've checked the manuals online for both Pio and Rane units, and that function is only supposed to affect Stop Time; NOT Start Time. I honestly don't think it's a Serato issue, but it could be a firmware issue on Pioneers' end. However, If indeed it is a Serato problem, have you updated to the latest software? If not, try that. And just to be clear: You have tried adjusting the physical knob on the controller, right? You didn't show that in your vid; only when you went into Serato settings. Your problem is really baking my noodle lol!

For the fader issue, you can purchase fader lubricants at your local Guitar Center or you can use WD-40 but only add half of a drop on the fader rail... I was having the same issue with my REV-7 fader but you have to go back to basics and as an older head in the game we know bout lubing faders 🤷🏻♂️🤣.. from the Vestax era to the Rane era! Fader Lubes is a must! LOL .. Hope that helps! 👊🏼✊🏼✌🏼

Yes I've used all of the old fader lube. I found that the maintanence was higher with those. The machine sewing oil has worked for me.
@djpatconlon2 жыл бұрын
In order to apply fader lube or wd40 do you have to disassemble or can you just shoot some into the opening lol
@mydudethedj2 жыл бұрын
@@djpatconlon i recommend using that little straw that most lube bottles come with or the red one that comes with WD-40.. but because these are magnetic crossfaders, I strongly suggest that you do NOT spray directly in the crossfader.. what I do is spray it away from the unit and then ONLY use the drips from the spray.. and ONLY let half of that drip contact the rail inside the crossfader, meaning insert the straw to the top rail in the crossfader and ONLY let a little bit of the residue that drips make contact!.. and then flick the fader left to right and you’ll notice it smooth out. You CAN NOT fully spray in the crossfader because it will gunk up in time and that gunk won’t allow the fader to make contact with the magnets. Hope you get what I’m saying and good luck! (Im not responsible for any damages) ✊🏼🤞🏼✌🏼

hi...uhh...everytime i used moving platters, i ended returning to the turntables and a mixer with innofader :D. The first problem its because serato dont wannt you to hear the "up speed" when starting a song (woouuuu till the speed is constant), so they buffer 1 sec of the song. Even the sl dz 1200 got a similar function to override this :D (i know, im old). The NS make the same thing, so i really dont know if they are going to change that. :( . But the sad part is the crossfader :(. That really sucks. At the end nothing beat the real deal (tts), but im pretty shure you know that :D :D :D. Nice video man.
