MAC 4-port Boost Solenoid Install

In this video, I install and plumb a MAC 4-port boost solenoid for the turbo LS setup. Another day, another bracket - this is the way of the project car.

The solenoid is upside down correct? So lines are all backwards?

If you are venting back into the same volume that you are using as source, couldnt you just t/y those two lines together at the solenoid? Ive always just seen it vented/exhausted to atmosphere will venting/exhausting into a possible high pressure system allow this to work?

Just to clarify, I'm venting into my air intake pre-turbo, so it's not pressurized. I could technically just vent to atmosphere and it wouldn't make a difference.

Where does it take it’s reference from? Are you using a standalone system like Holley?

I'm referencing the boost pressure for the wastegate directly from the compressor housing to make sure the gate sees actual pressure, and also to not introduce vacuum into the wategate diaphragm (and potentially tear it). And yeah, I'm going with the Holley TXMAX - it just made financial sense when factoring in all of the systems I need to support.

@@PistonsofFury I see. Ya I was just curious what pressure reading the system was going to make it’s adjustments off of. I didn’t see a dome pressure sensor. I too have the terminatorX Max system. Although I’m not quite done with my build. I think I’ve seen a video from sloppy that showed how he was able to make it read and adjust off boost pressure rather than some pressure.

I have a 2.5 BAR MAP sensor in the intake that the TX will use to gauge actual boost the engine is seeing. There may be a pressure drop between the compressor housing and intake manifold, but I can account for that in the tune. I'm also still deep in the build, but getting there... Good luck with yours!

How much pressure will those push lock fittings hold? Would it pop off at 40psi?

Airline hose. It's the same thing that truckers use

How did you wire up the mac valve?

It just needs a 12V source and your ground goes to a PWM- output source on your ECU. The ECU then sends the PWM signal to activate the solenoid.
