I bought the same in amber and absolutely love them. The build quality and frame material feel very sturdy and look sharp. Especially the reddish one. I used to only wear Zenni but their quality is the pits. Pixel had faster shipping and much higher quality all around. Even the case looked premium compared to the cheap blue plastic cases at Zenni. I'm so relieved I found pixel because my favorite Zenni was discontinued and everything else was subpar.

Hey Oliver, I have been binge watching your videos, and have been all over your website. I have learned so much about what I need in computer/reading glasses, but I have a question. You have talked about how Felix Gray and Gunnar Optiks decenter the optical center to help your eyes converge. If I am ordering a different brand of computer/reading glasses online, and my PD is 65, should I order the PD a MM or a few MM closer, to have them decentered? Or would that not work? If it would, is there a rough number or range that you could recommend for me? Or does it also depend on the magnification that I use? Thank you so much Oliver for the knowledge you give us on these videos. I am only in my 20's, but my eyes get worn out after studying on my computer all day, to the point where I can't even keep them open after, even though I am not tired. Blessings, and thank you in advance Oliver!
@EyeInfluence5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for reaching out. First, are you ordering the glasses with your doctors written prescription? If not then you won't be able to request custom PD measurements. If you are using a doctor's prescription then I suggest decentering the glasses by only 3mm. since your PD is 65, your near PD would be 62. In regards to your extreme digital eye strain, I suggest that you take breaks to give your eyes more rest. Look away from your screen every 15-20 minutes for at least 20 seconds. Take long blinks and even focus on something in the distance. This will help more than custom computer glasses. Let me know how it all works out. We are here to help each other out. Thanks for the support!

I bought a pair of Gunnars in a style very similar style to the Pixel Cerco's (Gunnar Ellipse to be exact), but I'm returning them because there's a reflection I can't help but notice on the inside of the glasses. I've even had my gf try them on as well and she noticed the same thing, you're always kinda sorta starring at a faint reflection of your eyeballs. I plan to return them and get the Cerco's but I don't know if I'll have the same problem because I have no idea what causes that inner reflection, any thoughts?

Gunnar uses a much more mirror-like coating compared to that which you'll find on the Pixel and Felix Gray lenses. I think you'll be happier with the visual quality with Pixel. Hope that helps Pablo Esteban. Thanks for watching the video and reaching out. Have an awesome day!

Hi Oliver, I know this question comes in a while after this video came out, but I just now came across it. I was wondering if you tested to see if these had the .25 magnification like Gunnar and Felix Gray. Would you say magnification is something you think necessary to reduce eye strain? I know you have mentioned having something like this is much like coffee in the morning, but I wonder if without the magnification if glasses will combat the eye strain as strongly. What is your opinion on this? I find I like the Pixel style best, but if it doesn't have the magnification (and that is the main key to reduced eye strain) I may go with one of the other two brands.
@EyeInfluence5 жыл бұрын
Hi Tyler, I actually prefer my blue light glasses without magnification. I recommend that as a last resort for people with severe digital eye strain. And even at that I suggest implementing regular breaks before going into magnification. Pixel eyewear if fantastic. The frames are great quality and the lenses are great too. If you wear Pixel glasses, take regular breaks and blink regularly you'll hold off the need for magnification and your eyes will stay strong.

Pixel glasses have no prescription in the lenses. They are really good blue light filtering glasses. If you need prescription they can do that for you for just a little more money.

I'm a web developer so I'm looking at the screen for a pretty good portion of the workday. I also had Lasik surgery about four years ago. Would you recommend either Pixel computer glasses or another brand for me to wear?
@EyeInfluence5 жыл бұрын
Pixel would make for a great set of computer glasses. They are amongst the best. Though I do want to say that computer glasses alone are not enough, taking regular breaks is equally as important, if not more, than wearing blue light filtering glasses. Thank you again for reaching out. Have a great day.

Hi Oliver, your videos have been so helpful! I am trying to decide if I should spend the $20 extra to get the Felix Gray computer glasses with magnification or if I will be satisfied with Pixel blue light filtering glasses. I'm an accountant that stares at a computer screen throughout my 8-10 hour day and occasionally look away to use my calculator or compare figures from my screen to a print out. I would like your opinion on whether or not I need to get glasses with magnification to help my eyes converge or if I would do fine with no magnification?
@EyeInfluence5 жыл бұрын
For your first set of computer glasses I would say to go with no power in the lenses. Try taking regular breaks and rest your eyes by blinking and refocusing on something in the distance. If that still doesn't work then you should go for the lenses with power. Pixel makes excellent computer lenses so they are a great choice. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching the videos.

@EyeInfluence5 жыл бұрын
@@polishoskar2039 Gunnar glasses were designed for computer gaming. The magnification shouldn't be too noticeable at a short distance. Felix Gray gives you the option to have or not have the +.25 power so I would say start with Felix Gray. Also, in regards to your discomfort, you should try taking breaks every 20min or so. It sounds like your eye muscles are getting extremely fatigued and stressed. No glasses will help that. Just rest. Hope this helps.

@@EyeInfluence okay thanks alot for the reply, do you think maybe a better option over those two is just to get a optician to make me a pair with blue light filter and reflecting coat or would those not be as good for computer use as the gunnar product ? thanks again for your amazing videos full of information!
@EyeInfluence5 жыл бұрын
@@polishoskar2039 That could be a good option if you work with the right person. Ask for BluTech lenses. I like to have blue light filtered in the lens and not through the AR coating. So if they only suggest Crizal Prevencia, that wouldn't really do the job as good as Felix Gray or Gunnar.

Hi Oliver! Love all of your reviews! Do you know anything in regards to Eye Buy Direct Blue light glasses or even in comparison to some other companies? They emailed and said they block 90% but it seems the glasses don't look any different than Felix or Pixel but have more of a blue glare. Curious of your thoughts if any! Thank you!
@EyeInfluence5 жыл бұрын
Though I haven't tested the Eye Buy Direct lenses I can tell you they are using a coating based blue light filter. This means that they coat the lenses with a coating that bounces the blue light off the front surface of the lens. By comparison, Felix Gray and Pixel use blue light filters that are within the resin of the plastic itself. This allows their lenses to have a standard (colorless) anti-reflective coating while still filtering blue light. Many low cost blue light options use the coating instead of the in-lens filter. Hope this helps. Have a great day.

Strictly speaking from a lens perspective, Felix Gray offers the option of getting lenses with a +.25 magnification for the same price as the nonprescription version. You can do the same thing with Pixel but you'd have to pay extra. Outside of that, both companies offer high quality blue light filtering lenses.

Hi Eye Influence. Great content! I wish your channel grows and the information spreads about blue light! You have a affable personality so I think it will! 1 quick question, do you have a laser light or personal blue light torch where you test the glasses yourself? I bought a 532nm blue laser light, but after your wise explanation it won't be suitable to test as day time blue light glasses block around 400-440nm. Some manufacturers may lie about it blocking blue light! Especially the cheaper ones. I'm looking for a tool to test the glasses with my own eyes. Thanks for the pixel review, im going to try a pair out!

Hi Oliver, I came across blue light glasses through Greg O'Gallagher's "Kinovision" glasses. Wondering if you have heard of these ones and can give any information on them. Hard to not believe these blue light glasses are just a fad and don'y really do anything except empty your wallet and put your mind at ease haha Im interested in computer/bluelight glasses because I went almost a year studying at night on my computer and my eyes got tired before my body and mind were tired causing a lot of strain. Tried night mode on my computer and iPad...problem was more black writing and white background. Do computer glasses help with that type of problem?
@EyeInfluence5 жыл бұрын
I just looked up Kinovision glasses and to be honest, they don't look all that impressive. It seems like everyone is selling blue light blocking glasses these days but most of them are equal to the quality of gas station sunglasses. I recommend regular visual breaks and proper eye health habits over the use of blue light glasses. I like to make the analogy of computer glasses being equal to a cup of coffee. Most people could eliminate the need for caffeine if they go to sleep earlier, stretch in the morning and just overall adopt a healthier lifestyle. Most people don't want to do that. They would rather take the cup of coffee. Computer glasses are the same. Our eyes are tired so the best solution is to give them more rest, not wear glasses. Blue light glasses are a trending topic but it's only because the greater issue isn't being addressed; we are overstressing our eyes. That's why I give workshops on this topic instead of just reviewing products. The greater issue is the misunderstanding of Digital Eye Strain. I hope to change that. Sorry for the long response. Thanks for your support.

@EyeInfluence5 жыл бұрын
If you want to have blue light protection all day I would reduce the BPF to around 20-30%. You can use a anti-blue light coating like Crizal Prevencia or even just get lenses with Transitions. Clear polycarb lenses have a BPF of 5% Add transitions and that goes up to 10%. Get Transitions XtrActive and you'll get up to 30%. Any more than that would not be good for your health because we all need some blue light, especially during the morning and afternoon hours. Hope this helps. Thanks for reaching out.

Head to head, Felix Grey vs Pixel? Which one would you recommend?
@EyeInfluence5 жыл бұрын
It's very subjective. They both have similar lenses but Felix Gray offers their lenses with or without a slight +.25 prescription. Some people really like this option. In just about every other comparison Felix Gray is a clear favorite but in this case the lenses and frames are made with equal quality. Pixel doesn't provide as much technical data though so... for that I'll have to say I Felix Gray is slightly ahead of Pixel.
@kanebright99745 жыл бұрын
I recommend Felix Gray. I've tried both. I tried the Pixel eyewear Buteo, Felix gray Nash black +.25, and now I wear the Felix gray Whiskey tortoise (non magnified). Pixel eyewear felt cheap compared to my Felix Gray glasses. My Pixel Eyewear glasses also came bent. The arms didn't sit right on the desk and they tried to get me to reshape them with a hair dryer. Their support were amazing though. But so were Felix Gray. No issue with Felix Gray glasses though

I tried both and would recommend Pixel. Had the Turing from Felix and Ventus from Pixel. I wore both for a few days to test out. Pixel lenses are easier to clean and frames are lighter in weight which make them more comfortable over period of time because it made less of a dent on my nose.

The answer depends on your needs. If you don't need prescription then you can go through Amazon or directly through companies like Pixel. If you do need prescription then you'll want to find an online store that carries blue light filtering options like Crizal Prevencia. To the best of my knowledge, EZ Contacts is the only online prescription glasses retailer that offers Crizal coatings. Keep in mind that companies like Pixel, Felix Gray and Gunnar can make prescription lenses for you. As for the size, this is going to be the most difficult part, most do not offer virtually try-on yet. You may have to chat with the company of your choice to determine the right size for you.
