Kabir he also had a massive army because of... well... god. Which is kinda funny in a way because he said himself you were not allowed to hurt anyone but he slaughtered millions of christians.

Still though, isn't it a bit strange how in the Koran there is a part that says that you are not allowed to hurt anyone but Muhammad still slaughtered 2000 christians? Maybe that is not much but it's certainly still hurting people. Also I did not call him god I just formed my sentence in a strange way I'm not english.

+Kabir Skrijelj, Muhammad only lead an army, but he was no "damn good general". That great commander your pertaining to is Khalid ibn al-Walid. Lol, since when was marching an army for conquering is "bloodless". More than anything Jesus conquered the world by spreading his religion through his disciples, and their disciples through the use of words. Unlike your barbaric and warmongering prophet that slain and discriminated thousands for spreading his beliefs.

The whole "Winter defeated Napoleon in Russia" thing is actually largely a misconception. Starvation was the much bigger issue. Tens of thousands of French troops died halfway to Moscow, and that was in the middle of summer. Napoleon had a gargantuan army but terrible logistics, while the Russians destroyed everything as they retreated. Proper organisation of supplies was almost non-existent at times. Troops at the front of a collum (of an army corps) would eat everything that was available and the ones at the back (often conscripts from previously defeated nations) would have nothing left. Many thousands also died from disease as the huge Grande Armee literally drank wells dry and the rivers were soon full of corpses. By the time of the battle of Borodino, just before Napoleon took Moscow, the French had a significantly smaller force than they started with.
@hrotha
@hrotha 7 жыл бұрын
Yup. The Russians defeated the Grande Armée; winter just coup-de-grâce'd it so that almost no one made it back home.
@neurofiedyamato8763
@neurofiedyamato8763 7 жыл бұрын
Napoleon's logistics weren't bad per se. He had very well organised logistics management, but relied on living off the field. Like scavenging food in the forests and taking supplies from villages. A traditional method of logistics train was very slow and vulnerable which would of never let Napoleon move his army as quickly as he did. Problem was that scorched earth policy is particularly effective against such systems. A system that won him so many battle throughout Europe is what lost him in Russia.

IV Flashed all their sabres bare, Flashed as they turned in air Sabring the gunners there, Charging an army, while All the world wondered. Plunged in the battery-smoke Right through the line they broke; Cossack and Russian Reeled from the sabre stroke Shattered and sundered. Then they rode back, but not Not the six hundred. V Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left of them, Cannon behind them Volleyed and thundered; Stormed at with shot and shell, While horse and hero fell. They that had fought so well Came through the jaws of Death, Back from the mouth of hell, All that was left of them, Left of six hundred. VI When can their glory fade? O the wild charge they made! Hey Pixie, i feel i have to write now what am I thinking about a long time :D Look at minimap sometimes :) It says more that may seem to be. Like you lost vision on russian-swedish cav during that "cut moment" and like in 5 seconds after that they appear on minimap :D Or - your favourite moments - deaths/fleeing of generals. There is a blue team general routing from battle in 20:20 after that huge cav engagement in the middle of battlefield. No reaction :D Man, how i missed your favourite sentences about importance of general there :D Just check minimap from time to time for 5 secs and you know everything :)

amazing battle. I was pro-Portuguese-Polish alliance. So kind of happy they won. But props to the Russians, their charge and cavalry were beast. Though I think the Polish and Portuguese really used their cavalry well early on to stunt the opposing force mitigating the damage they would do later on. The Polish-Portuguese won almost every cavalry engagements early on even though they had less which really helped secure the victory for them. The P-P alliance also did excellent in their line battle though poor Polish got rekt by the Russian charge, taking the brunt of the attack. But that was really good since it really blunted Russia's ability the rest of the game. The decisive move was Sweden losing the flank which exposed his Denmark teammate at the end.
@simonlancaster1815
@simonlancaster1815 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the praise. It was a great battle. The Russian player comes from a Medieval 2 background and uses his cavalry so well. I think if he had lined up his Russian Grenadiers a little closer for the centre charge then he could have broke more Polish lines. On the replay I saw my elite cavalry charging in to force the Grenadiers to square just in the nick of time. That halted the momentum a bit. Yes, Gosling did great on the left and that was key.

That kid's father who forbade buying the t-shirt is taking it a step too far. I'm a history enthusiast and fully aware of all the grudges between my nation and the Russians, but I would never spoil my child's approach to this channel or the symbols you use. Damn fine way to learn English listening to your fine pronunciation in my opinion - it's always better to look for the positives. BTW, Napoleon used Poles like pawns during his campaign, even though he seemed like a friendly guy:)

He did respect them a lot and wasn't afraid to use them. Napoleon was also a much better friend to Poland than Russia ever was, but what he mostly did for us was feed the Polish tales of future greatness while having them fight for him in all the corners of the world. It was the smart thing to do, so I can't hold it against him, but it can be seen in different light depending on the perspective.

Neurofied Yamato Napoleon was aware of Polish ability to sacrifice, he used them for hard and "not-so-honourable" missions, for example to take down uprising in Haiti. He spoke well of Polish soldiers, but treated them exacly like pawns.

One thing that made this game so much less enjoyable for me is the fact that it is impossible to hide units unless they're stationary in the woods. You can't conceal any movement, even if the enemy has no direct line of sight on you. That completely takes the element of surprise out of the game and it tends to turn battles into slugfests where the winner is the side with the bigger and/or qualitatively superior army. There's little to no scope for battlefield finesse.
