Great job by all in trying to pull off the convincing number to get her to believe the Shady Rest had all that Uncle Joe said in the brochure. Liked Kate's reaction when the phone went off the 1st time, she told Uncle Joe to "get the gun, it was a rattler." And Kate's quick thinking of a storm & down power lines when Ms. Stroud wanted to make a call to Chicago. Again a great job by them all in convincing Ms. Stroud. I also liked when Uncle Joe was romancing Ms. Stroud, the girls said they wanted to listen...Kate said "You are not going to listen like common snoops, you'll do it like ladies with your mother along." Nice enjoyable episode.

That room everyone was making Mrs. Stroud believe the bowling alley, ice skating rink, swimming pool and steam rooms were in would become something in the final two seasons of petticoat junction, as Dr. Janet Craig's office, also for the swimming pool, I think they should've used the Cannonball's water tower, since the girls always took a swim in the water tower

Google the show and you’ll find lots of interesting info. Sharon Tate was supposed to be one of the daughters. In the theme song 🎶 It was run by Kate🎶 after she passed the lyrics were changed to 🎶 It’s run by Joe 🎶 . Loved the theme song which was sung by Flatt & Scruggs and also the theme song to Beverly Hillbillies. Ok I’m done 😉

@pippishortstocking79135 жыл бұрын
I thought so too until I started watching the series. Technically the Shady Rest is just out in the boondocks, Hooterville is 20 some miles in one direction and Pixley they're always mentioning is a little more than that in the opposite direction. The water tower the girls bathe in was for powering the steam train. There was a control than the train personnel used to jerk in the old days to get the water going to the train. That's how the expression "jerk water town" came to be. Sometimes little villages sprang up around the water towers in the days of steam trains.
@pippishortstocking79135 жыл бұрын
Also the train in the show only goes from Hooterville to Pixley. It's a spur line so it's not connected to the main RR.
