Mind-bending TV series hosted by John Newland, your guide to the unknown! Based on true, supernatural events that defy scientific explanation, this show appeals to fans of The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits.
before Stephen King's "IT" there was THIS...
THE CLOWN: A mute carnival clown witnesses the abusive relationship between a beautiful young lady (Yvette Mimieux) and her cruel husband. After fleeing from her husband, the young lady seeks refuge in the clown's trailer. The husband burst in, commits an act of violence, and then flees - only to find the spectral presence of the clown haunting his every step.

First time ever watching this, it was long before I was born. I just love all these amazing black and white series, so much better than the rubbish of today. I don’t watch tv anymore, it is historically incorrect, and making my generation dumb. Thank you so much for downloading all these so my generation can watch them. I’m so pleased there are many more episodes to watch.

A bit of trivia I heard long ago. A person who adopts the role of a clown paints his (or her) face to their own design. Each painted face is unique and no other person clown or otherwise may copy it. It will remain the face of the clown who created it forever. The clown in this drama has a most unusual (and beautiful) face.

That behavior was never acceptable. He’s utterly ungentlemanly, unable to control emotions, and lets his insecurities show through. The episode 12 Hours to Live shows presents a more typical man back then. He held his peace until they were alone and neither disrespected her in public nor threatened her physically or manipulated her emotionally, even when they were fighting. There were no bad guys in that episode, just 2 people who grew a little. The way the husband acts here from the beginning to the end is as a bad guy and nobody would’ve ever seen him as normal or typical back then.

The clown reminded me of being on the Bozo show in Boston in the 60s. Got to play a game and won a Bozo bubble gum machine. But costumes can mean horror to someone especially being very young. Way back my mother brought me to a Easter Bunny. One at a time this Easter bunny would have kids sit on its lap and then get a picture taken. I got to my turn. But the costume back then we're not real good. I looked at the bunny face sitting there. And the eyes in the head were screen. I saw the person's real eyes behind the suit and yelled. The Easter bunny ate someone I can see them inside. Unfortunately the picture was not taken and my mother took me back home. 😊

@@eddysgaming9868 Right? It's incredible. As much as I hate this episode (I'm not big on clowns) I gotta say she's so pretty. She's the prettiest blond, the prettiest brunette is from "Epilogue". I don't like that episode much either, (too much overacting) but WOW! I want to look like them lol

I've always loved clowns. As I grew-up they started getting evil. Now, I'm afraid I don't love them any longer. But just like serial-murderers... nothing like any enigma to fascinate the hell out of you. Anyone remember the kid in bed in the movie, 'Poltergeist' ? Under the bed ? 🎶..."a smile is just a frown turned upside down..." 🎶

I know this is make-believe, but not when it touches on reality like a big ass giant BITE! I don't like this guy's attitude toward his wife. It's like his insecurities are spilling over onto his wife. It's not her fault he doesn't like himself or how he looks or feels about himself. I apologize. This storyline is so close to the REAL TRUTH! YOU KNOW IT TOO!

and another thing is, he hasn't got the sense to realize that if he pushes that crap around another man, he's gping to end up on the wrong end of a knife or a gun. other men generally don't like to see guys treat their women like that, and more than once, if they haven't been taught to turn to the cops, I've seen asses like that who do this publicly end up thrashed by men they don't dare confront on their own.

Trivia alert: Christopher Dark played in the film WORLD WITHOUT END as an astronaut who crashes the time barrier. Yvette Mimieux starred in the time travel film THE TIME MACHINE. These were the first two films made in Hollywood about time travel. (Even more obscurely, Mimieux tried out for another time travel film at around the same time, BEYOND THE TIME BARRIER, though she wasn't hired/her agent wanted too much money).

First off, the female character should've been sent for some psychiatric treatment. She's not an " innocent girl". She's either a narcissist with sexual hangup ( she knew what she was doing when she was around other men). Or, she's a serious case of arrested development. The husband is an insecure, abusive piece of crap. He should've been thrown in jail for taking advantage of a mentally disabled person. The clown was just plain creepy and should've been taken for a mental health assessment. This show was interesting to watch just to see what was considered as acceptable social norms and the blatant, willful ignorance of mental health issues. All that overshadowed the supernatural aspect. Entertaining, nonetheless. Thank you!

The combination of the clown make up and performer playing the part, Mickey Shaunessay, resulted in a truly, iconically-disturbing clown. Ill advised, I think, as this clown was supposed to convey anything but creepiness, story-wise.
