Are there any Janet Gaynor's in the metro-Detroit area‽ Man alive! What a film! That lady went through it ALL! That had more beauty and tragedy than most films today that are considered beautiful or tragic. That was like Russian literature put to celluloid. What a feature! Gaynor DESERVED that triple or one-third (however you measure it) ORIGINAL Oscar award for her STELLAR performance! That was a GREAT film! I wish I had a hunny to share that experience with, because that is the only thing the film lacked, which was not the fault of the film. That sure was something.

Another homerun with this one, Mr PizzaFlix! Thank you. The sets were superbly designed, and the chemistry between Janet and Charles lit up the screen. Each scene seemed like a painting by Caravaggio.

Janet Gaynor was Fox's most durable and versatile actress from silents to sound, and deserved her Oscar in 1929, especially for "Sunrise". This one isn't too shabby, either.

Now that;s a love story! Just imagine to have been in the theater in 1928. A spellbound audience marveling at the incredible talent of the diminutive 22 year old Gaynor. So beautifully acted. the music and effects were perfect, Direction and cinematography outstanding. Thanks PF. It may be hard to top this silent era treasure.

JANET GAYNOR Y CHARLES FARREL nos dejaron 11 extraordinarias obras del séptimo arte.. La única que no aparece junto a FARREL es en la iconica AMANECER..

decent edits with the band and whistling the music is generally good too - unlike silent pictures with the extended version sonnets. right in between silent and talkie. 96 years ago. great stuff - 👍
