Woody is correct but also wrong about the whole 6 week thing. Yes, that 6 weeks is measured from the time the egg enters the uterus, but the egg is fertilized before that. Fertilization happens between the ovary and the uterus in the fallopian tube. So the egg is fertilized before the count begins.

People completely ignore the fact that the SCOTUS don't care about public opinion, their role is on the constitutionality of legislation/executive action/rulings. There's a case at their table that challenges the constitutionality of RvW, and I haven't ever heard a good argument on why RvW was a good ruling. You can disagree with the outcome either way, but RvW was a terrible ruling and shouldn't have precedent.

Røe v. Wade was in practice a law passed illegally by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court does not have power to pass legislation, and so Roe v. Wade being a law passed by the Supreme Court, means it was an illegal law that should never have been passed. If you want federal rulings on abortion, do it the legal way through congress. Individual states however are not prevented from passing their own laws regarding abortion. So abortion did not suddenly get banned overnight. Abortion is not a core issue for me. I think it should at least be an option in cases of rape and incest, especially if it's an underage girl. Or if there's a danger of injury or death to the mother or unborn child. I don't know if it's right to have abortions just because you refuse to use contraceptives and insist on fucking every penis you see. I don't believe in abortions up until and including birth, like some people today want to be legal. Ultimately the gun issue is much more important to me.

I think that is overwhelmingly accepted already. Its perfectly fine to be pro life. Being pro choice is about allow women to make the choice of carrying to term. In a perfect world there would be no abortions, but we don’t live in a perfect world. Quality sex education is almost non-existent in the U.S and contraceptives can fail. I believe that it is important to give women some control over their lives, especially if the pregnancy is caught early on. I respect your beliefs and I hope that we can respectfully disagree.
