Tbh it may be worth it to make the flamingo enclosure it’s own zone and assign keepers to just that zone. The food demands of potentially 40+ birds is probably too much to handle with other animals in the zone.

Keepers wont underestand that walkway, would be just easier to build wooden bridge for workers to move around the habitat, but then you'd have to be careful for orangutans climbing that as well. Just leave the habitat gate and build bridge that humans and orangutans can both pass, it would look more simpler and would take less space/ two birds with one stone basically. 😊

Make a land bridge covered in vines and rocks and dirt and trees growing at weird angles like those “hidden entrances to lost treasures ppl in movies always find in a rain forest” kind of thing (imagining scenes from Kong). It’d tie to the Komodo enclosure too.

I have been loving this series since the beginning. During your beauty pass you should add more benches across the zoo so that people will stay longer and travel to the furthest reaches of it. Keep up the good work and stay safe!

Don’t forget to add education boards to the new exhibits! And put donation bins by them. I agree with trying to assign the flamingoes their own work zone. Maybe assign them an extra work zone with a couple dedicated keepers as well as keep them in the work zones they’re already in for other types of staff to cover without you having to hire all new everything for them. I really like the improvements to the orangutan exhibit and I hope you can get it to work. I really liked the staff path idea. Maybe you need a land bridge to make it function? I think in the glass tunnel you should make the whole thing out of the same glass pattern (the middle part specifically) because the giant gaps where it changes between the two patterns make me nervous, plus the connection between the two glass pieces for the tunnel style at the ends is right at eye level for people. You should also do a guest happiness pass soon! Maybe trade some of your tapirs out instead of releasing to the wild every time? You don’t have the best genes there even all these generations later and being able to afford to bring in high quality new animals, and I wonder if that’s because the gene pool as a whole isn’t great. Zoo stuff aside, hope you and your fiancé are doing okay in all this craziness and not badly affected, and that you were able to get all your errands and such done! Stay safe and healthy 💕

I don’t think a new zoo is such a bad idea with how the frames are beginning to act. I think it would be nice to see the “empty” exhibits (Indian rhino, Himalayan brown bear) finished and then the new zoo could encompass the regions of the world you have not yet covered, like Africa! (:

I really hope that you find a way to make your staff move through the entire orangetang enclosure, because it looks so cool! Also about the frame rate drops ealier in the let's play you limited the number of guests that would be showed to fix a simuliar problem, maybe you could try that again instead of starting a new zoo?

If you do get a new zoo it should be a "breeding zoo". Basically, you adopt the animals that tend to have bad genetics and breed good genetics. I think it would be an interesting challenge if you ever need a break from your main zoo.

Ah, I was wondering why I didn't see the little heart from you in my notifications. Do what you've got to with all that's going on. Although if everyone rushes to do last minute shopping right before the emergency officially begins, that's how shortages happen. Only buy what you need, and keep in mind that there is no prediction of shortages of staples, only imports (like fruit). The panda may have gotten the guest food because of the lack of bins. Add some! I still think the cage might as well be much longer and the walls, although they look better, still don't look great. I also suspect that the staff path can't be used to navigate within the enclosure. I overviewed how the pathing system works on the previous video, so read that before this. Anyway, if the paths are forced to always be used as paths, then it won't work and you'll have to build new bridges out of pieces, but even if they count as solid/traversable for enclosures (likely) I'm pretty sure zookeepers won't try to "escape" the enclosure so they can't use it to go outside the boundaries of the enclosure without passing through a staff door to get there. Their AIs just don't consider the possibility in the first place. Then, you need to adjust either the bridge or the barrier. I'm in favor of editing the barrier, then you can also let orangutans play on that stuff. The problem shouldn't be the stone stairs and the amount of space looked fine, and too big is only a problem for your framerate. Roaches are cute : [ I would rather eat next to the roach exhibit than the snake exhibit because roaches move around and do stuff for you to watch, snakes sometimes do but most of the time they are sedentary. Keep in mind that in some of these places you can use wind power, it has a bigger power radius than solar and a smaller noise radius than the fossil fuel power. I think in the Oceania workzone you missed a red thing that was behind the exhibit. It was hard to be sure though. 56:55 Bummer you didn't see the orangutan crossing the bridge, seems like the sort of thing that makes you happy when you see it. I'm not 100% sure the orangutans can get on that from both sides, because it didn't look like it, but I don't know how else they can get across so probably. The green lines might be more visible if you'd zoomed in closer, it seems to work that way for me sometimes.

Cruxador agree I think the staff just can’t use the staff path within an enclosure (maybe?) You can try to test that by dropping a keeper in the enclosure side without the staff entrance and see if he can get out?

Even if there are other problems too, I would be very surprised if that wasn't the case.

Frame rates are dropping not only for guests but for piece count of objects and climb-able structures have to recalculate each time pause/unpause. You've built a lot of scenery out of the climb-able logs when you could use other pieces to cut down lag. However I'd love a new zoo because I think you've learned SO much since we started and I'd be excited to see you start fresh. For the orangutan exhibit, you could make a tunnel out of glass pieces with climb-able ramps instead of the climbing bridges. This will allow the staff to walk through the glass tunnel to access both areas. The flamingos are hungry because there are too many birds in that enclosure. The keepers fill what they can and its instantly gone due to the amount of birds. Plus have to factor in the time it takes keepers to prepare food.

And i believe it might be that the keepers cannot use staff path in the habitat. So you are facing those issues which did not pop up with the tunnel system. So i would prefer to use the tunnel system instead. You also forgot to set the humidity and temperature for the new cockroaches! As always, love the video. Orangutans always creeped me out for some reason, King Louie may have been the cause of that since he was kind of a jerk 🤣. I think the keepers cant get to things in the enclosure because youre using a staff path. Im sure you'll find a way to fix the issues though, you always do. Id personally like you to finish this zoo before starting a new one. But if you open a new one you can start it focusing on Africa and that will bring in A LOT of guests off the bat with the amount of big cats. Also, I was so relieved when you put "me" on research for the snakes and not the roaches. Thank you 🤣. Good job, can't wait for the next video!

For the Orangotangs- Maybe the game doesn't recognize service roads inside the habitats. Try building a bridge/path overhead using the rocks and wooden platforms. The orangutan enclosure is looking awesome and I really like the tunnel and I agree that the developers should give the possibility to get another entrance for staff. It would make things easier but we pull through with our creativity. You bought an orangutan male and female from the same zoo, remember to check where they come from before you buy to prevent inbreeding. I think you should check them. I guess please just round off the china area, and the elephant/rhino area first, just to fill out the big empty spaces we already have plans for. Flamingo’s feed using the food enrichment forage which is placed inside a gazebo. When that happens, the other food trays are ignored and not filled. It might be possible that the flamingos aren’t able to access that gazebo. You could try moving it to an open place for better accessibility.

I couldn't see anything of that orangutan the first time in the rising sun ☹️ I originally thought the issue with the keepers was the stairs that they couldn't access. Maybe it's the overhead parts on the "cages" over the path? The paths need a lot of overhead space, maybe that's cutting into it. I love that paths system, I hope it ends up working! As for the area behind the Komodo dragons habitat, I wouldn't put any exhibit where the food stands are right now. It's pretty tight as is, and I don't think it's necessary once guests are pulled back there by the exhibits bellow. If it ever gets as busy as we've seen some parts become, this area would be a nightmare with an exhibit in the middle. In any case, I can't wait to see what it looks like once you've polished it off! Thank you for this video, hope you could find everything you needed before confinement! It's been a week here, your videos are amazing to help pass the time!

-Hm, talking about the komodo water has me brainstorming a way to have Venice-style canals or a "sewer" that crocs can swim in. Also on that note, you can put toy enrichment out of reach of keepers, since they don't have to refill anything, so you can lure animals to enclosure spaces the keepers can't get to. - Starting a new zoo would feel good, BUT if we decide that we wanted to add something to North after the fact, we'd come back and be all "OMG this lag we're never coming back here". So I feel like we should make sure North is complete while we're used to the little bit of stutter. -Pick up a keeper and drop them on sections of the path, then see if they can get out.

Hey, Party! I have a suggestion. Since so many people have said that the yellow and red presents at Santa’s workshop reminds them of McDonald"s, but you wanna keep those colors, what if you did a custom color yellow, where you added a touch of orange to make it a bit golden? Because I remember when you first did it you said your goal was to it to be red and gold. Just a thought though, and I hope you stay safe during this dangerous days!

For the orangutans you could try manually placing a staff member on the path to see if they can make their way out. And try each side of the enclosures paths. Idk if that’s easy to understand...I hope so. I’m sure you’ll find a solution.

I'll have a really awful day on the brink of calling for an ambulance, then put it off, just in case it's nothing, then I'll have a day of feeling decidedly sick, but not deathly so. It's frustrating. My body is definitely trying to fight it off, but it's a struggle. Anyone who thinks this is just flu is dead wrong. I've survived two deadly flus. This blows those out of the water. I did finally get through to my doctor, and they said for now they're not worried because I can still talk normally, but to keep checking on that, and if it changes, or my fever goes up and stays up, call emergency services. It orangutan exhibit looks like a conservation outpost! Orangutan Outpost? as if its a place where people really get to relax and chill at the exhibit as if it s a main stop area!

Don't add another exhibit up by the komodo vendors, it's already too crowded. Instead attach a staff path to that spot and connect to a brand new staff room behind the vendors. You need it, 'cuz you have added dozens of staff over the years but haven't kept up with your staff resources, and you want those vendors expending energy making you money, not hiking to the break room. Your mechanics and security would also have an additional location. You could even see about tucking a wind turbine next to the staff room in the furthest corner of the zoo property rather than cramming that solar panel next to that exhibit, leaving you open to put down path on two sides of the exhibit box. I like your idea to add a couple needed staff buildings to that grassy area by the river. A suggestion that someone else made in one of the previous videos, was you need more benches. Whenever a guest wishes they could have stayed longer to see (fill in the blank) animal, you probably don't have anywhere for the guests to sit next to it. Makes sense from what I've seen of the game mechanic. Watching multiple planet zootubers, your frame rate is tied to the amount of guests you have rendered in the zoo, and your piece count. The more individual pieces you use to construct your zoo, the harder it is for the program, though I assume you are more than aware of this.

you can put a scenery door to the orangutan staff area entrance. staff can clip through it but the animals can't if im not mistaken. but seems like it's not needed😅 Anyway! the habitat looks great!!

Hey Party. I was looking for my comment on the last episode but it turns out, I typed it but did not post it. The reason I was looking for it is... Prime-ates was also one of my suggestions for a food stall and I had more so i suspected something was off when you said you had no suggestions for a drink store. Turns out, another great mind thought of it. Great minds do think alike. Anyway here is more: Drink shop: Orangey Tang (Pun for the Tang juice drink orange flavor using Orangutans. Not sure if you have that particular drink in Toronto) Food stall/Ice cream stall (in case you need more) Orangu-tongue (This was for an ice cream store because you lick ice cream but you can also use it for food stalls) Merch shop Monkey Business (Now I know Orangutan are not monkeys, they are apes, but come on, that's too good to pass by. I just can't help it, i have to get that one out.) In the matter of the ever stressful Orangutan exhibit, I'm sorry I can't help you there because I don't understand how the pathfinding works on this game. I am so interested in playing it but I have to invest first on a great set of equipment if I want to play it. That's why I'm always looking forward to your uploads. But don't stress out, and don't push yourself. In these times of need, preparedness is of the essence. Take care always. Just one more thing, I am MONITOR-ing (pun-intended) the progress you have on the Komodo Dragons. Please say you are naming it BIAWAK RUINS or BIAWAK BAY.
