I've shared this in a few places but to get some more public attention here's a slightly different take on the max's can't be revived. Proposal why not treat the max suit as any other vehicle? Players pull a max suit which they can hop in and out of them and when they reach 0 HP they blow up killing anyone inside of them but the player can still be revived. This in tern doesn't negate the work players invested to get rid of the maxes but the players with the maxes can still get revived just without their max/vehicle. Furthermore this would allow players if they so choose to share equipment with each other through the vehicle permissions tab

I'd almost rather them teach the fundamentals of the gameplay, like repairing for engineers, reviving for medics, cloaking and hacking for infils... and so on in a tutorial campaign mission system that as you progress brief missions either in an "instanced zone" like the shooting range or the small continent they removed (Koltier?) that rewards upgrades to the tools or systems used. That way the certs rewarded from regular gameplay can be spent on fun things like guns or utilities while also giving new players the basics to playing each role in both a teaching sense and a tool sense. This would also help bridge the gap between highly inflated certed players and newer players and guiding them in a direction of progression early on without feeling like they "wasted" certs on ranking their repair gun despite it being an insane return on investment. It would also improve everyone's effectiveness on the battlefield since a newer player can now repair equally as anyone else.

HERMES CLOAKING IS COMING BACK?!?!? OMG. LMAO. I nearly screamed in happiness at work reading that. I auraxed 2 guns on oshur easily with this. I ran catlike 5 and sensor shield. Alternated between ammo and grenade bandolier. I would normally have adrenaline pump and safe fall but I had them in the cloak. It felt like the cloak gave you safe fall 2 or close to 3. It was awesome for the crafty player. Jump off of high places to break a chase even with low health to not take fall damage. And no one wouldn’t pursue except for the LA or idiot who blindly jump off a cliff too, killing themselves.

Maxes are basically an infantry only vehicle, which is what i think they ought to be. I think it should perhaps be easier to repair them? Idk. I think in a way what may work better if we want maxes to be breachers is have high health, an existing revive time, but slow repair time. That way they can be revived, but they can't be used as turrets that are constantly healed by engineers. Or after this change, slow repair time but higher health

I was wondering why the scythe was dieing so easily to lockons. I figured they just nerfed vanu for no reason again and made the other esfs stronger. Looking forward to not taking 1700+ damage per rocket for that unavoidable 2 shot kill (seriously, I ditched fire suppression for ejectors because of this shit because not even that could save you)

Of all the things to complain about MAXes, revive is not it. They can't be rez naded, the revive is very slow which makes the medic vulnerable, and they come up with so little hp that they're just going to drop again unless an engi is immediately available. The MAX was always a team asset, and not the solo farm some people seem to think it is. This is completely dumb. The fallout hardening isn't going to help much because now we don't have ordinance armour. I feel like this is just a favor to LA mains with C4.

Repair drone is mostly useful for construction as when they were first introduced I remember MissAtley was able to repair basically everything but the walls of a meta base by just standing in the center of it. Though back then the repair drone could repair everything within reach at the same time I'm not sure if that will be the same case this time around. But it will be nice to have beeppy back.

@@ZealousVidya Yeah in that context even if it's 1/3 repair rate per item compare to proper repair tool since you're repairing like 8 to 10 items you're actually dishing out twice the repairs & it had no heat mechanic so it can just keep going. A little broken I have to admit.

Mostly like all changes exept maxes cannot be revived. That might kill max pushes removing tool to break stalemate.

I personally believe that if revives are to be traded in for something, it should be the ability to not be OHK'd by things such as C4 and roadkill damage. That would be a very fair trade. A 100 nanite reduction to spawn will make no difference for experienced users. If you have more than half of your nanites already and pull a MAX, you're already surviving long enough that your nanites will be fully replenished on the unfortunate event of your death. I play MAX regularly and am a decent player. Let me tell you all very honestly that if I come across two heavy assault players simultaneously and they're both slightly above average skill, I'll usually die to them. The sad thing about this patch is that now it becomes even harder to kill every single enemy because of the headshot damage nerf. Your skill at aiming for heads is not being rewarded as it should be, especially considering that MAXes cannot aim down sights like other classes. I really, really hope that the devs either revert the changes or else follow up with a fair buff to the MAXes resistance against counters. To finish off, here's a list of things that will regularly destroy MAXes with ease: Decimator. A single HA has a good chance of destroying you with this weapon. Two skilled heavies can essentially OHK you if they fire simultaneously C4: a single stick of C4 will kill you if you don't use ordinance armor. Many Light Assaults use it and when they fly on their jetpacks they can be extremely hard to hit even at close range. Roadkill damage: the MAX is often said to be a hybrid of infantry and vehicle, yet it gets no resistance to road kill damage. A flash can easily kill you. Harassers are even more deadly. Archer: this weapon got a buff about a year back. If can kill you in a few shots from extreme range with absolutely no way to retaliate. If you go on moderate kill streak there is a high chance one will be deployed against you. Keep in mind that because the engineer has higher movement acceleration than the MAX, he can literally run circles around you and destroy you at any range. It's even more scary than the decimator. Tank mines: if you don't have Sweeper Hud (spot placed explosives) then mines destroy you easily and are often glitched under the map meaning you cannot defend against them in any way whatsoever. Is there any other playstyle in the game that has so many counters?

Light Assault is getting nerfed on TR because NC heavies on point hold too strong, VS infiltrators will be occupying more space as main competitor to LA. As LA often you don't get rezzed or healed anyway because you are moving in places allies cannot.

For the maxes, I wish they would've done a more dynamic adjustment to the nanite cost. Where the more stuff you have equipped on the suit increases the nanite cost. That way a burster max with no suit slot or defensive slot could be cheaper than a fully kitted out anti-infantry max. I also kind of wished they would've limited maxes to 1 revive per life as to give players a less punishing loss, something to work with other than, "nope you're dead". As someone who regularly runs anti-material rifle or C4, killing maxes is never difficult and doesn't require much skill in general. The is no reason to no suicide charge and C4 a max anymore since the suicider can be revived. However, I do think reviving should limit how much max hp you can be repaired to after the fact. Giving a nerf to repeated chokepoint holding and stalemates. Also, it could've been cool to see a defensive slot or ability that must be certed into to provide the ability to be revived making it a players choice. This could have a drawback within its self (aside from the opportunity cost of losing something else) like slower movement speed, or feel more punishing effects of flash bangs or stun grenades. Something that promotes more interesting gameplay rather than a blanket "no more revive"

I think MAXes should still be revived... but revived as a Heavy Assault... i think it makes sense as the max suit is destroyed but the dead guy is still there... and this should not impact that much the Steel Rain maneuvers...

I want higher server capacity so the queue for non Oshur is shorter. Oshur for me is only playable when a lot of people are foot zerging on the outer ring, and as noone wants to play it anymore it just bricks the game completely. 25% damage reduction means that enemies need to deal 1333 damage to kill the Demeter Veil dude not 1250.

the biggest problem i have with airhammer is that it can kill a aa max in one mag . also one shotting infantry is broken for airhammer especially the range at which it can do. banshee was also quite broken but nerf seems already compelling . airhammer still feels broken due to no reduction in damage model

Those 4 faction specific skills are all from a previous scenario mission they use to have...good to see they're finally making a comeback but i'd still love them to add all the items from all previous missions like the LA jump pad but with that being said, i'm really interested to see how these new-old gimmicks will effect the game flow, if anything i'd honest to god love it if they just gave every faction the option to use each of the new additions instead of making it all faction specific but i guess that wouldn't be as fun lol

the NSO drone seems broken and really great for tankers. but tbh if you're NSO and a tanker you deserve the buff. Fallout Hardening should provide flat out immunity on highest level to orbital strikes - most outfits wont think much of, throwing out 2-3 to clear a base on primetime. I really wonder why they nerf the Dervish lock-on-resistance - jesus the Dervish needs some love. At this point a solo lib with spur is better unless you are an ace pilot with an always online ace gunner. And then you probably want to use a lib or valk instead of that dervish.

So, the new cloak is dope - I would definitely run it - it synergises very well with an SMG cloaker style (or a sniper, who got jumped...). The NC Demeter Veil is borderline OP (maybe not even borderline) - I don't think it should go into the game like this - it's a huge force multiplier. The TR bit is a complete gimmick.

This is a huge nerf for the MAXES. Not being able to rezz is terrible if the damage against MAXes is not reduced. A damn quad can kill road kill you by running over your foot and now your well built squad cannot offer you any help. It's a terrible, terrible change. I really don't like Wrel.

I agree with your point, same as valks running MAX over. Maybe MAX only revives on like 1HP so they can only be rez'd once a room is totally cleared, although that would even then probably undermine his intention to stop stalemates.

They buffed defector big time by changing its ability to not cause certain suicide and by nerfing things like ordnance armor which defector does not have anyway.

I'll say the same thing I have been saying for over 5 years. The large problem to MAXs and vehicles in this game is that repairing is OP, it doesn't matter if you get that MAX/tank/aircraft down to 1% health remaining it will just repair back to full in seconds thanks to the engie's magic glue gun and this can be done an unlimited number of times as long as it doesn't die or revived in a MAX's case. My suggestion has been this: Vehicle health needs to be MASSIVELY increased and 5-10% of all damage done is un-repairable (nanite deterioration), except for resource weapons (tank mines, AV nades, ect which do more). This discourages peek and repair and for vehicles/MAX to be used to break stalemates rather than reinforce them. As for the faction abilities, someone pointed out they were part of the campaign rewards a while back so they technically have already be tested on live servers.

These updates are all bad (with exception to bug fixes). I'm primarily an infantry player, so these don't actually effect me all that much and I can see that. The ISO are silly, the MAX's are not invincible and this will ruin MAX play. Air game play problem is that air is to tanky not that they have overpowered weapons, force multipliers should be devastating but be glass cannons. I feel bad for the players who have spent so much time becoming good at these style of gameplay just to have it pulled from under their feet. I hate saying this but they are again targeting the wrong changes and further dimensioning the faucets that made this game good. Also thank you for providing us with a summary of the updates ❤

Came back after more than a year long hiatus and I can't say I've noticed harassers being "gutted" at all. I still see them in literally every fight that isn't a bio lab, often a duo. They're still mowing down infantry and 1v1ing MBTs with moderate success. Is this mostly an issue with their performance in mass vehicle combat?

really sad to see nerf to the max, no way near as strong as ppl make them out imo and you can easily counter them too as a max main, with maxed out stays (ahahaha) the max is fair a balanced. if you ask me the light assault is op because you can drop C4 on people hahaha!

Stalemates are the point of planetside. I'm out. Console in 2020 you can fight on the same base for 3 hours, which was fun. On pc you can't even play on the same continent 3 hours.

Bruh this is honestly a terrible update for the sole reason that infiltrators and heavies are the cheesiest spam classes and are incredibly easy to play, I'd be fine with this if the removed spam snipers

overlooking a fairly large issue with MAX nerf in this video, you claim its an issue with casual players "over extending" and tryhards "not over extending" where that's sort of subjective based on who's the most mouthy rage induced idiot on your team. you can be called out as "over extended" purely because your the last one standing from an engagement OR because you were abandoned by whichever major outfit exists and happens to yeet themselves to another part of the map with Steel Rain. I do agree less experiences players may throw MAXs away more frequently but another pretty large issue are the ways to kill a max with little effort. 1 brick of C4 from a C4 fairy (C4 needs a rework of its own IMO, shouldn't just be tossed out and blown up....or remove it from light assault kit. The Decimator is another one (irony is you using one in this video proves my point), just get point blanked by this thing and your recently spawned max is now gone so bye bye nanites for it to only happen again as soon as you pull another MAX. TBH an alternative to dying in a max could either have "pilot" escape or be revived outside the MAX OR when MAX is near death or "dead" its disabled and needs repairs for lets say 10 or so sec, needs full repairs before it's functional again similar to base turrets.

I kind of stopped playing this game when they started nerfing infiltrators and hornets and esfs, which affected Vanu disproportionetly (especially esfs). The problem was not necessarily Banshee or the Shot Gun, but that PPA is completely incompareably crap. This results in Vanu players not really flying esf's in quantities others do. I mean, i dog fight and often win with banshee vs air to air esfs... its harder with shotty, and its useless with PPA.... (and just that by itself is nonsense). They should make these guns all very similar or even the same in terms of damage and velocity. Because what happens now, is that TR swarms a bunch of Banshees, which forces Vanu to pull maxes and anti air, but NOT esfs. At the same time when I fly vanu esf, there are so many lockons anti air and dog fight gankers that its just not practical flying. On top of that the balances of speed, lift, esf size, and gun strength are all fucked up. There is a reason why best pilots end up flying mostly on the reaver or mosquito. Finally, what the hell did they do to hornets. As a vanu esf that already has barely any air to air backup (since noone wants to fly), trying to play supposed anti vehicle hornet loadout is pretty much impossible because hornets dont do damage after a certain range so you still have to be fairly close, they dont really do as much damage as dumbfire lolpods, its a useless weapon. Eith the amount of dumbfire lockons, aa maxes, as lightnings, aa dogfighters on other factions, playin hormets on Vanu is not rewarding. Good luck getting behind any tank and landing even 2-3 hornets on ptime time. The only fun way i played hornets was when 2 squadmates followed me and focused my target. Oh and dont forget ridiculously stupid shots with Vanguards. Like as if tanks are meant to be anti air as well. It actually takes way less skill shooting with tank at an esf than flying one while dodging through trees, constant lockons, maxes, tanks, and endless veteran reaver aa players.... like, everything about esf has to be redesigned, or atleast boost dmg on hornets, balance PPA, balance Air to air weapons, make Scythe model smaller or adjust its maneurability, it is inferior to other esfs... reduce the amount of lockons? Or if you run AA rocketluncher, nerf its damage to infantry and vehicles, so that you cant just have 1 weapon that does it all..... i also think that 2 weapon loadout esfs should have bigger afterburner anyway. Also, why a freaking liberator can go faster than a damn small esf craft, like u can literally be chased as well. ..anyhow, something has to be redesigned. I literally see that over the years most of pilots are disappearing, because the good experience is no longer there, and its a shame.... my 2 cents..
