Planetside 2 - Scythe A2A Montage/Gameplay

Beautiful, clean kills. I've barely learned how not to suicide by crashing into the landscape and gotten less than 10 kills so far using the scythe. This weapon does seem like a massive upgrade though, cuts through them like butter. The reduced clip size also doesn't look like much of a problem because it's very rare for me to stay on target long enough to need all of the 50 bullets.

I'm using the same cannon throughout the video. Its called the Hailstorm turbo laser and its a side grade specifically for A2A combat. I never have and never will use the A2A missles as I feel they are a crutch which promotes bad play.

Just to clarify: -Saron default magazine size = 50, Hailstorm = 30 (total capacity is also almost 2x) -Saron shoots 20-25 rounds in the time it takes hailstorm to shoot 30 (hailstorm does shoot faster). -Saron is MUCH more accurate in its groupings, almost pinpoint, while Hailstorm shoots in a less tight grouping. -Saron and Hailstorm are on a 1:1 dmg bases (they do exactly the same damage bullet for bullet. Personally I would say Saron is generally better until you can upgrade the Hailstorm.

I use standard keyboard & mouse to fly with. As I've said previously its all about practice, also learning to be able to slow down and do the reverse turn will help you a lot when somebody gets behind you. I will be doing a video on this in the future.

as for upgrades you'd want fire extinguisher instead of stealth and mag size for the nose gun. fire extinguisher saves you so often , that its almost mandatory atm. as for the gun - is possible to 1-mag-kill with 41 bullets (45 being the maximum possible)

he (probably) uses vehicle stealth which prevents him from showing up on their radar, unless they are in the same outfit / on coms they would likely have little idea there was a fight going on. also notice the class of the enemies he kills, most are light assault i.e. people for whom flying is a gimmick and intend to bail if they take too much heat.

God what I wouldn't give for a lead indicator for A2A contacts. Or a datalink to the squad. Or flight physics that resembled this universe. Nice flying all the same. That's the short clip A2A cannon, right? Ripping and Tearing.

I don't view A2A missiles not as a crutch but as a tool not to be abused there's a great advantage to being able to kill someone from extreme ranges with upgraded lock range

In this video I'm using a variety of different upgrades, and I change them out alot so there is nothing in particular. I will be doing a detailed video on air upgrades in the future. If you want to set-up for A2A then I recommend getting stealth (1lvl), the upgraded rotary cannon and flares as a good start.

I think a more diplomatic way of putting it would be it allows you to slack a bit more on your aiming, quite obviously.. Personally I go for both lasers and A2A missiles though, they're pretty handy in some cases.. but definitely not a guaranteed hit/win either.

What perks do you have on your Scythe? Nothing against you but this is why I don't use tanks. Cheap way to get kills. Splash damage alone in PS2 are devastating against infantry."Turn Radius" or Air Sped" others and how much leveled up for each?

Practice, practice & more practice bro. I use the default controls but a lot of my outfit bind the look up and look down to Q + E and they find it easier it like that. Give it a go.

Yes its far far better and well worth the certs. All round upgrade really.

unfortunately you just need to practice. No control scheme is going to make the learning curve any less steep. Iron uses default setting with mouse and keyboard only BTW. It's just getting used to the controls.

For the opening to your videos, the green text that shines across; perhaps change it to something else because, just my opinion, it looks rather cheesy. None of which are as effective as even a base model ESF, let alone an ESF that's been modified for AA use like we see in this vid. Also rockpods are the most BS weapon in this game, need a nerf big time, just saying.
