Uncle of Max, Walter and Lilly here. Just saw the snapchat reaction to your shout-out, and it was priceless! Funny enough, thanks to them insisting we watch your channel on my recent visit, I just made your pineapple upside-down cake yesterday. Been binge watching your videos since, and you have opened my eyes to a lot of whole food options I didn't know I had. I grew up with Julia Child, and your show hits that perfect balance between informative, fun and just plain wholesome. She opened my eyes to the joy of cooking, and you're opening my eyes to the joy of plant based cooking!

Thank you, thank you for a bolognese that doesn’t use lentils! 🙏🏻 I do like lentils, mainly in soups, but texturally, I can’t bear them in dishes like this or shepherds pie. This looks so delicious and I’m definitely making it this weekend! 😋

Yes!!! I made one with lentils and I couldn't stand it without adding a ton more sauce. At that point it was just a gritty marinara!

You don’t know it, but you just accidentally added carrots to my shopping list. And I don’t even need them! LOL I was watching the video and telling Alexa to add mushrooms to my shopping list and she heard you say carrots immediately after so she added them too! Gotta love technology. Can’t wait to try this different version of vegan Bolognese. Thank you.

Sounds just awesome and although I try to steer away from "modern wheat" I'll make this for my occasional pasta treat. Jill, did you use salt while boiling the pasta? I know you don't use salt as far as I saw, but pasta cooked without salt ... eek!

@@jeandixon586 I do love my salt but really notice when extra is added. I’m afraid if I tried it with salt it would be another habit for me to break.

I add vegan cashew cheese to the sauce. I pour the spoonful of the sauce over my vegan lentil meatballs just enough so the meatballs don't get soggy. Thanks again for your expertise. It has been a tough journey at times flipping flop always coming back to vegan meals. Meat is now becoming very disgusting to me. If I can't kill it myself to eat, why eat it.

Hi, I am looking for no sodium, not low sodium pasta sauces. I know all whole foods have salts in them - your recipe doesn't list the ingredients as having added salts but it states - Sodium: 425mg Potassium: 405mg Is this added salts and potassium?
@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow Жыл бұрын
The nutritional info is an online service where we list the ingredients and it automatically calculates it but some of the ingredients like canned tomatoes don’t give the option of salt free. Other than that we only use low sodium tamari or Braggs liquid aminos for a low sodium salty flavor but you can absolutely leave that out.
