omg that sounds so awesome. I thought you were going to say nutritional yeast and yet this sounds so much better still with cashews. high in selenium too, who can get better than fresh basil. I am really anxious to get this on the table. merci beaucoup Madame.

The Whole Food Plant Based Cooking Show I think it’s good either way but yes it’s a lil cheesier with that and a pinch of Himalayan salt. My husband grows oregano and sometimes we add that. Or right now you could add a summer tomato 🍅 instead of water. Here’s an article regarding the many different types of pesto - all from different regions in Italy 🇮🇹. www.delallo.com/blog/marvel-simplicity-pesto-alla-genovese/#

I realize this is an old video. Haven't tried this yet, but will when I harvest my next batch of basil from the garden. Do you have any suggestions for preventing the pesto from turning an off green/brownish color? I've heard that some actually do a quick blanch of the basil leaves before popping them in the food processor...

Hi Jill, someone recently told me that all nuts should be soaked to remove phytates. Please could you let me know your thoughts on this? I have never soaked them. Love your videos and your calm delivery. Your daughter did a great job in the curry video too. Can't wait to try this pesto!
@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow6 жыл бұрын
I had read that that was the best way to eat nuts years ago. I tried it for a while but honestly I just don't have the time to do that method. The way I use most of our nuts thy need to be dry, so if I soaked them, I would then have to dehydrate them to dry them back out; even more time =(
