My PF is pretty much gone thanks to you man! I purchase a pair of shoes that had durable soles and not bendable, as you pointed out in a previous video, AND I kept the insole it came with. The first day was unbearable, but I stuck it out, and the pain just simply disappeared a little at time. Thank you SO much!

thanks for your book it's helping.I have arthritis and lateral instability from old paratrooper style injury so i always thought PF would be inevitable. I tried some heel gel cups and it made it worse bc it was too cushy as you explain. I find even some of the so called PF shoes - seem great at first but all that cushioning generates instability and actually seem correlated to knee pain (something i've never had) for me. I'm working the steps in the book and making progress and wanted to say thanks!

This is a question to ANYONE that has had or has PF: Has anyone ever had PF morning pain SO severely, that when you get out of bed, you had /have to (initially) walk on all fours before being able to walk again?

PlantarFasciitis SurvivalGuide I'm just glad I'm not the only one! It was a morning ritual for me for almost a year. I'd crawl first, then use some kind of edge, like a table, stairway bar, wall, etc JUST to get those first few steps in and work the pain out, then I was able to continue my day. Then sleep, rinse, repeat.

Totally agree with you on the orthotics/support making feet weaker, and it being necessary for healing pf. I got some Tread Labs insoles and they’re definitely helping. I love my Xero shoes Did you wean off the orthotics/arch support? I’m also doing pf strengthening exercises 👍

I have the altra escalante but they still irritate my inner side heel. I ran with Pf flyers or convers and I have no pain from my heel spur area or inner heel sides. Also every insole I tried hurt that one spot on my inner heel. I dont have flat feet, normal arched feet and it feels like 1/4 inch of my inner heel sits on the arched insole. Low arch super feet and these spenco insoles sent me into a world of pain.

Hi, I self diagnosed my PF (it appeared suddenly) but wasn't sure of what to do it about. So I read and watched lots on the Internet, started some exercises, some contradicting each other. Went to a physiotherapist (that's australian for physical therapist or we just say "a Physio") who gave me some exercises. The main one was using my hand to bend my toes up and hold and calf stretching (no mention of tripper points). So I started this without any real relief over two weeks (I know it takes a while). So I stopped my sport, bodyboarding /surfing where I where swim fins/flippers and I bought some orthotic insoles off the shelf ("foot logic" specific for PF, $30) and I never walk barefoot or wear thongs (Aussie for flip-flops) anywhere. This has created great improvement without even doing the exercises. The only time my heal hurts is when I first stand up in morning before I put shoes on but after that nothing. If keep shoes on with orthotics no prob. Now I have watched your videos. So brilliant. You are an amazing researcher, communicator, educator and video producer. You have great cred! I will now start the massaging of the trigger points in calves, keep wearing orthotics and move on to tour foot exercises. I'll let you know how it goes. I have normal height arches, I have Mormons toe (excessive) but my toes are well spread from wearing thongs nearly always. I do have tibial torsion in just right foot that turns out just 15%, same foot as my PF. I do sit around a lot at night on a soft sofa watching lots of tv and working on iPad without getting up for hours. But during day I am very active. So after watching your videos I believe my PF has developed from the repeated use of some new flippers I wear when surfing (up to two hours a day), the constant wearing of thongs or going barefoot (no support/muscle guidances), the shortening of calf muscles from extended periods of sitting at night that have created trigger points. Let's see what happens. But now to investigate Mortons Toe - I never knew! Thank you so much. If it works I'll be buying something off you.

Hey, I've watched a few of your videos now (love them btw) and I just wanted to give a general summary of my approach to recovery and see if I'm along the right lines. had PF severely in my right foot 2 weeks ago after running a half marathon. since then I haven't run at all. I've been doing all the rolling and stretching of feet, thighs and hamstrings, icing etc. problem is I work on my feet all day. I want to strengthen my feet and continue to run with a more minimalist style shoe/barefoot (eventually vibrams) but should I be using insoles until my foot feels 100% better and then start with the strengthening? how will I know when I'm ok to start running again? could my PF have been caused from running in a more minimalist shoe in the first place and it will just take time to strengthen? I've walked around barefoot most my life when I'm not working so I always thought I had fairly strong feet. I want to get on top of this so any answers you could give would be fantastic thanks!

My heel pain gets exacerbated by almost all shoes lately? The hard insoles like superfeet, kill my heels. The pain gets worse as I go on in the day.....I can hang with them for like awhile, but then as I go on As I step I feel the pulling pain in my heels.....is that something that I have to endure........You mentioned the insoles are NECESSARY for severe heel pain, but it feels like when I do the stretches I am pulling at the tissue , and the insoles irritate the tissue AND those are 2 of the main things to do??? I read you were almost in a wheelchair from the pain.....were you able to just use the insoles and then just sstart walking?

I got a custom orthotic that cost $500. I think they don’t work! On top of that, I think they cause more damage. They constrict your arch from moving which is bad. Force=(mass) (acceleration)...When you JOG acceleration increases and in direct proportion so does the force (pounds per Sq inch) on your feet. Find a track with wood chips that will absorb as much force as possible, SHORTEN your stride as well. Pregnant women often get transient heel pain akin to Facsiitis as the MASS increases that equation for a time.
