Actually the go walks(1st shoes) helped my feet a lot! Only shoes I can wear for any length of time.

Can a new shoe be good for PF and then it becomes bad for PF? how can you tell if a shoe is worn out (not good for PF anymore)? if i got a cortisone shot is there some other approach you would take to treatment? great videos -- very informative, to the point and not selling me.....

Tim Lootens A new shoe cannot be "bad" for plantar fasciitis over time because the only part of the shoe that can degrade is the cushioning abilities of the shoe. Lucky for us, cushion is not favorable for plantar fasciitis. It may feel good at first, because the heel is tender, but cushioned shoes cause excessive motion in the foot and contributes to excessive pronation, which can further stress the plantar fascia. Cortisone, if injected even one time, will weaken your plantar fascia. Cortisone is used to stop inflammation. Problem is, the plantar fascia itself does not have inflammation. It is a degenerative process, not a healing one. Some of the surrounding tissues will have inflammation, and cortisone may help those areas, but it does nothing to fix the problem. Big pharma just loves to sell cortisone even though it is the worst treatment available. I would check out correct toes video on plantar fasciitis, check out my website with articles on free treatments to try (link in video description above). There are a lot of effective treatments available, hard part is knowing which ones to try, and what is the root cause of your heel pain.

Do you recommend Altra shoes ? Altra shoes have helped my foot problems.

+Bobay Fett Altra shoes are pretty unique because they have a zero drop. What that means is that your heel and your forefoot will be the same height off the ground as opposed to most running shoes that have a higher heel, allowing for more cushion underneath the back part of the foot. Unfortunately, Altra is not known for their arch support which is great for treating plantar fasciitis. So, unless you're putting arch support inserts in your Altras, most running specialists would not recommend them. With all that being said, if you say they're helping your foot problems, good for you!

+Bobay Fett They work well. I agree with "Yeah man". The only issue I see with altra is that the sole of the shoe is very inflexible. Not a big fan of that. They work well for progression to a minimal shoe though. Zero heel drop and wide toe boxes are hard to find, and altra has some of the best options available in this regard.

Haleem Ahmed I had plantar fasciitis for four years, and a nerve disease. And free runs are ok when the pain is gone. it is not good to wear them when you currently have pain.
