Thank you for posting this. I went to a podiatrist and got a cortisone injection. The shot hurt like a son of a gun. It didn't help much either. He even gave me on of those hideous boots to wear around the house. (I have since learned that these rigid things are actually bad for the feet.) The stupid appointment ended up costing a ton of money and didn't do me any good.

You're absolutely right ! But what happens when people go to the podiatrist, orthopedist complaining about foot pain They're offered cortisone shots right away. Doctors fail to disclose to patients that cortisone shots give only TEMPORARY RELIEF and they can be dangerous: the fascia can be damaged and then a risky surgery can be needed. The foot needs to HEAL by itself. I had plantar fasciitis for one year, 12 months home-bound because I could not walk without a cane, but I healed my feet. Icing the feet 3 times a day, stretching every day, massage, using a cane to walk, wearing orthotics, spending money on excellent sneakers designed to give stability, cushion to the feet, all this worked for me. I did not accept cortisone shots because I did not want to ruin my feet.

what about turmeric? I take 750 mg of curcumin daily. Is this a bad thing to do?

it's good. better if it is raw turmeric root. mechanism of turmeric root is not inhibitory to inflammation. it only regulates it. pretty innocuous
