It's not painful unless I put pressure on it (i.e. walk - since it is on ball of foot).

It hurts when I touch it and more than it used to. It’s growing pretty fast. Im 50lbs overweight and had orthotics for years. What’s really hurting me, is the space between the bump and my big toe. OUCH! Thank you for the video. I appreciate your advice.

Throw a small water bottle in the freezer. Take it out at night and place on a towel on the floor and rub the bottom of your foot while watching TV for a few hours. Is an effective treatment.

I had this same idea a few days ago! Awesome! If you have any orphan socks you know the ones that you never find a match for that's what I used to cover my frozen water bottle. 😊 This and a nubby foot roller have been SO helpful in relieving pain & breaking up scar tissue after surgery a few weeks ago. Extra:I have fibromas in both feet. I had one removed from my right foot 5 years ago a few weeks ago I had a complete fasciotomy in the same foot. Fortunately the one in my other foot doesn't bother me too much but now I am developing fibromas in my hands

I just want to say: As someone who has been dealing with a somewhat large, still growing plantar fibroma, THANK YOU so much for making this video. I saw one podiatrist who basically told me that I was stuck with it and to deal the pain with aspirin. I cried because it hinders my ability to do long hikes and climb mountains and I’m worried about it interfering with my job. Thank you for answering so many of my questions and offering up so many good treatment options. I really appreciate it because there was not much info I could find. 👏🏽🙏🏽🦶🏽🧡

Sciatica from sitting all day at work was aggravating my case of PF that began around March 2020. I had dry needling in the arch … awful I will never do that again. I’ve since had 3 rounds of PT. I’m finding that cupping on the calf muscle in addition to the Graston technique on the calf and arch with help with the fibroma. It’s been an extremely uncomfortable couple of years I truly believe sitting at a desk for work was the culprit.

I have this in my left foot, in the exact spot that all documentation (diagrams and pictures on online websites) show. I was only able to start feeling an actual lump maybe about ten+ years ago, but I felt something going on in my foot more than twenty years ago, when I was still a teenager. I never smoked anything (never even tried), have never been drunk nor do I consume large amounts of alcohol, and I am not overweight. But I was born with severely twisted feet, so much so that one of my legs had to be put in a cast when I was only six weeks old, my parents had to massage my feet for hours as a baby, and once I was of walking age, the doctors prescribed them to switch my shoes around to help straighten out my feet, so I wore the right shoe on my left foot and vice versa. I don't know if that could have anything to do with the development of this fibroma. In any case, it's so annoying and I would be like to get rid of it, after suffering it for so many years...it's usually not painful, more so annoying; I would describe it as always feeling something annoying in your foot where the annoying feeling gets temporarily relieved if you press down on it or massage it hard. (I used to use a "dolphin" massager with a pointy tip that revolved at high speed and had infrared light to relieve it a bit). I think I will try to get a prescription for that cream from my GP... Fortunately there is only one that I feel, and only in one foot.

Massaging fibromas are NOT good. This can perpetuate more fibromas!
@DrTomBiernacki2 жыл бұрын
Is there a source for this? I get very quick and pretty reliable results doing this for years. I'm curious where an idea like this would even come from?
@Buckeyejonichols2 жыл бұрын
@Michigan Foot Doctors I belong to a FB Ledderhose group moderated by Dr Eddie Davis. So much good info on this and I wish more Podiatrists were willing to listen. I learned from this group it is not advised to massage fibromas as you can incure future growth. I won't do it. Please check out the FB group. There is a wealth of information on there. I've been to too many podiatrists who have no knowledge of this disease at all.

Help me!!! I’ve been searching for help for years… I’ve…I’ve had the Plantars Fibromyalgia scraped from both feet and the Dupuytren contracture tumors scraped from my right hand including all fingers…like around the finger. Welp, the tumors were back with a vengeance after Judy 3 horrible months. The surgery recover is what I would call the worse surgery recovery eVeR😮. Like I had rather tripled wall out no of my vagina with absolutely no pain reliever then that that surgery again!!😳🫣🤔🥴🚬🚬🚬🚬

The first steps of the day are always the worst, but pressure throughout the day it can be very annoying. I run and bike a lot so it it has just gotten to the point I can't ignore it. I'm 23 and fit. For many months I used a bad quality flip flop to walk around that I believe caused trauma to the arch of my foot and in turn developed this condition. That is what I believe caused it. I completely ignored it. If it is trauma and not genetics is it more likely to go away with non surgical treatment?
@Gyps163 жыл бұрын
I'm 25 and also have it. Your flip flops are probably the thing that's has accelerated the growth of the nodule. Beware of surgery ,t if it's later host is he's then it's gonna worsen a lot because of surgery.

Awesome video! I've been suffering with this condition for about 15yrs in both feet. I've done the steroid injections once and I'll say this, the pain of the shots were almost unbearable, but the relief afterwards was very noticeable! I'm not sure if I'd do that again. So here I am watching this helpful video. I'm going to start trying some of the techniques you've demonstrated here, (oh, and start losing weight, controlling my diabetes better, and cutting back on smoking and alcohol usage!) Keep up the great work 😃

I had one small fibroma on my left foot, but could feel the same sort of tissue in my left foot. So this chiropractor used a sound wave machine to break up the tissue (it was designed to break up kidney stones). Worst decision of my life. Unfortunately, they grew larger and more painful. Also, any squishy running shoes or walking on sand or gravel stretches the fascia and makes the scar tissue grow. What has worked best for me is to get cortisone shots and wear shoes that have firm lasts. They went down for a few years to barely noticeable. Then Covid happened and walking in the neighborhood with running shoes brought them back again. I'll try ice and the ball and flat firm shoes.

I got it in my left foot at the age of about 28-29. It was one lump for a long time with no pain but then eventually turned into multiple and started to hurt. 12 years later, I got it in my right foot. I felt it before it turned into a lump. it was super sore for no reason because I did no walking or leaving the house that week. Within 2 weeks I developed a lump. Unfortunately it grew fast and I now have a couple bumps in the foot. In my left foot, the original bumps seem to have flattened out. Not gone but flatter. I live in NYC, I think walking a lot actually kinda helped flatten them out and stretching my feet, even though they hurt if I walk all day. Anyway, im still looking for answers as to how to actually get rid of them, not just relive the pain. Im 43, I dont want to go into old age with these things.

Sounds good but can’t watch. I’m requesting a version where you keep your hands down and out of view as this one, with all your annoying hand movements is distracting and more painful than my planter fibroma, please post the update ASAP.

Doctor can you use custom hard orthotics and cut out holes where the fibroma is and do the exercises you recommend?
@DrTomBiernacki2 жыл бұрын
It's possible, but probably can be done with a softer less expensive orthotic with your doctor. I personally do that.
@chrisdangelo12872 жыл бұрын
@@DrTomBiernacki I like the idea of using softer orthotic OTC but just doesn't give me the same arch support as my custom made orthotics. Also please let me know about the alcohol based injections as opposed to cortisone.
