Someone close to me said they loved animals. When I challenged that person, who eats an omnivore diet, they said they tolerate the cruelty when it's out of "necessity." To expose the deep and profound suffering inflicted on innocent animals and our one and only planet is what I would call an absolute "necessity." I went Vegan this year. I'd like to say it was about concern for animals and the world but honestly it was all about my health issues that drove me to a Whole Food Plant Based diet. Once I made that step, with it's clean break from animal food products, carnism lost it's hold on me and I finally bowed to the necessity to going Vegan. It's shameful that I went for a decade or more knowing the full cost to others of eating meat but doing it anyway but I finally got here. By the way, going Whole Food Plant Based (No salt, oil, or sugar) has gotten me off 4 prescription medications and allowed me to drop 110 pounds in 9 months. I was astonishing to find out how BAD meat was for me! You can't see what it's doing to you until you get off it. I've really appreciated the work of this channel and this was another fine product. We are taught to discriminate against animals. A dog is humans best friend. A cow is food. Cats are wonderful pets. Chickens are food. No animal is better than another. They all have a soul and spirit. They all deserve our respect and compassion!!!

@@CambriaSFreesia how would a vegan diet lead to living with compassion and ethics. A vegan diet won't mitigate a climate crisis. If anything it will probably cause a water crisis as fruits and vegetables require irregation water, where as meat mostly lives of rain water. So vegans have have an increased risk of a leaky gut. This is because plants often contain anti nutrients which are not present in meat. Also humans can't digest fiber, which makes it difficult to get nutrients from plants.

Please, whoever is reading this, be a voice for animals. We, more than ever, need vegans to speak up! Use anything in your power, your voice, your time, money, or career to end speciesism. Speciesism is the root cause of all oppression, and we've taken it to such extreme level that it impacts our own environment and climate. Don't give up, if you can't find hope, be one.

So should we prevent lions from killing their prey?
@1JAM2292 жыл бұрын
@@dewaldt8104 Why would we? We're concerned with humans going vegan, not all animals. What kind of question is that?
@dewaldt81042 жыл бұрын
@@1JAM229 well if all life is equal, then surely that means that a deer has the same right to love as a lion.
@1JAM2292 жыл бұрын
@@dewaldt8104 In a different thread, you asked if we should kill the lions. No, you don't end violence towards 76 billion innocent animals per year by committing more violence. That's contradictory and clearly not what veganism is about. Before you respond with, "insects though" or something similar, I recommend you look up the definition of veganism as coined by Donald Watson.
@dewaldt81042 жыл бұрын
@@1JAM229 so how else are you going to prevent a lion from taking the life of it's prey? Also my question essentially boils down to is if all life is truly equal, why do some animals have the right to kill other animals. Either all life is equal or no life is equal.
