In this tutorial, I will show step-by-step how to create a procedural plastic material in Blender 4. However, it will also work in earlier versions of Blender. This material will be compatible with both Eevee and Cycles render engines.

0:17 Materials and render times
0:40 Activate Node Wrangler, a free Blender add-on
0:50 Set the color
1:00 Setting up the roughness value, determining shine
1:30 Adding smudges and imperfections to the plastic material
3:30 Organizing our nodes with frames (Ctrl+j) and groups (Ctrl+g)
4:10 Creating uneven surfaces
5:56 Applying material texture, micro plastic bumps
7:54 Adding bumps and dents to the material
10:53 Adding scratches to the material
15:00 Duplicating and adjusting the plastic material
16:40 Adding a translucent effect to the plastic, like a shampoo bottle
17:50 Adding fabrication artifacts for extra realism
