Angus’ school uniform is Australian- Ashfield Boys High School. Angus’ brother Malcolm is the rhythm guitarist with the large guitar. AC/DC was founded by Malcolm and Angus in 1973. The Young family came over to Australia in late 1963. Older brother George was a founding member of The Easybeats in 1964, which was the first Australian rock band to achieve international success. George went on to become a prolific songwriter and produced the early AC/DC albums.

Both brothers are very small men. When 5'-3" Malcolm plays a large guitar it ends up looking especially big.. 5'-2" Angus has said his posture of hunching over his guitar comes from his short arms & small hands trying to reach the proper positions for some of the more difficult cords.

In reality that guitar isn’t any “larger” than typical. It just happens to be a hollow body which is the deepest type and Malcom is barely over 5’ tall. It’s an off the shelf model. It always looks like an enlarged movie guitar on him.

This is the music of my generation (Gen X). We came up on AC/DC and other greats like Metallica, Guns n Roses, and loads of 80s "hair bands" as well as the alternative grunge sound of the 90s. While I also love classical, R&B, hip hop, and even bluegrass, it's like classic rock and grunge flows through my veins as a Gen X kid. Nothing compares to it, and I am thankful to have been in many crowds with my lighter on, rocking out to a sound that I hope will never die.

Angus and his brother Malcolm, the guy with the huge white guitar, were born in Scotland but grew up in Australia, which is where AC/DC were formed. Brian Johnston the lead singer is from Newcastle England. Malcolm and Angus were both between 5’3” and 5’6” which is probably why the guitar looks so huge. But Malcolm was the driving force behind the group on guitar, while Angus was the out front lead guitar with the fancy stuff, Malcolm created most of the hard driving riffs, and imho deserve far more credit than he often received. Brian and Malcolm also Bon Scott the original singer, wrote a most of the lyrics through all their albums.
@bamachine
@bamachine 2 ай бұрын
Lead singer is Brian Johnson, who took over after their former lead singer, Bon Scott(RIP), died in early 1980. Angus Young is the lead guitarist, wearing the schoolboy outfit that his sister made for him to wear on stage, back when he tried multiple uniforms until the schoolboy uniform stuck. Malcolm Young(he was just a tiny dude, hence the guitar looking so big), is the rhythm guitar and Angus' brother. They got the name of their band from the AC/DC on the tag of their sister's sewing machine. Phil Rudd is the drummer. The band formed in Australia but Brian Johnson was from England and the Young brothers(and Bon Scott) were originally from Scotland but grew up in Australia. This song was playing during the opening scenes of the first Ironman movie, when they are in the convoy. AC/DC songs have also featured in Maximum Overdrive, as mentioned, with the song "Who Made Who", which was written for the movie. Also, "Thunderstruck" is in Deadpool 2, as they jump out of the plane. Then "Hells Bells" was in Deadpool And Wolverine, during their first fight vs each other. I know there are a bunch of others I am forgetting right now but they are one of the most popular bands to put into movies.

Dude, this is awesome. Starting them off young with the classics no matter the genre... My fondest memory was the first time my twin sons (they're now 34 y/o) responded to the music I was playing. They were toddlers not quite 2 y/o, and I had George Thorogood's "Bad to the Bone" playing on my stereo. One son stood up, began bending his knees and swaying his head to the beat, while my other son began playing air drums. To this day, their favorite music is late 60's, 70's, 80's music...

So wholesome. :) About the old rock: I feel like there was this love and respect for the _craft_ of musicianship. All these solos! Guitar solos! (Duh). Drum solos! Lengthy ass drum solos! Generally more untamed. It's amazing how the music doesn't sound dated, at all - firty, fifty years on! Going half a century on... That is quite dizzying. And yor son _knows. Bless'im.

It's really nice to see Callen (sp?). His comments remind me of a time when my son ( about his age at the time) came to me and said "Dad, I've listened to my friends' music and I've listened to your music, and yours is way better." I think it's great when the young kids can enjoy the classic music and it gives them a greater appreciation of music in general. Not limited to a certain genre or type of music. Of course, being your son, Krizz, I'm sure he is getting a complete music education.

Seen them 10 times since 1983. I've seen a lot of concerts, and AC/DC are the best live band to ever walk on a stage, period. If you want to see a really great performance of this song live, check out the performance at Donnington in 1991.

Big guitar guy is Malcolm Young RIP. Angus older brother and definitely boss of the band. All decisions were made by Malcolm. Angus practiced like crazy so Malcolm couldnt drop him from the band. On his death bed he told Angus to " Keep on rocking ". When Angus is asked if he is the best guitarist in the world. He says "I'm not even the best in my family".

I appreciate the attention to your sound. There are a couple artist/reactors that haven’t mastered a podcast-style mic (which is how I can tell they actually do understand mics for recording/performing).

Angus and Malcome born in Scotland and grew up in Australia and formed ACDC in Sydney in the 70's and then conquer the world! Australia has claim ACDC. Malcome recently has passed with dementia who is holding the large guitar, RIP Malcome in Sydney. Bon Scott (born in Scotland) original lead singer pass away in 1980 RIP in Perth, then Brian Johnson took over in this song. All Australia and Scotland are proud of ACDC.

AC/DC was my favorite group growing up in high school. I loved watching your son react to them with the amazing reaction to picking up the great vocals of Brian Johnson. You should introduce him to “Thunderstruck” video. ❤❤

"Friday on My Mind"( regarded as the first Australian rock song to achieve international success) 1966 song by Australian rock group the" Easybeats". Written by band members George Young and Harry Vanda. George Young was older brother of Malcolm Young, Angus Young, Alexander Young (AC/DC) AC/DC got its name from the letters on the power adapter of their sister Margaret's sewing machine. Just a little trivia.

The band was formed in 1973. I saw them in concert in 1975 as the warm-up band for Aerosmith. It was a fantastic concert.

I saw them during the original Back in Back tour and they were by far the loudest band I've ever heard live. Angus Young was awesome. He played the whole time even when the rest of the band took a 20min break. Just ran around the stage going off. Still love them after all these years.

Like your son, I was 10 years old when I first listened to this album with my friends. We loved it from the first hearing. We played this album over and over again. This was the beginning for us. We ended up collecting all of their albums over the years (including Bon's earlier releases).
