It's the only game I have played that has given me the same typ of profound and fulfilling experience, that I have previously only ever received through a handful of series (Arcane), movies (Everything Everywhere all at once) and especially books(Narzis und Goldmund by Hesse). A perfectly created adventure and journey l, that you can only ever go on once.

Well I will say, if you look up Ready or Not Lore. You will fall down an incredibly epic rabbit hole. The game does have a very intricate story. And the stressed officers mechanic is one of the tools they use to characterize the main character. Highly recommend playing.

I had a love-hate relationship with Curse of the Dead Gods. Its super rewarding and punishing at the same time. Managed to beat it twice with a very specific build, but what I enjoyed even more is the lore and hidden story behind monster info which got me surprisingly invested. I even made a whole theory about it on steam forums which isnt something I usually do.

If you like house clearing games, you might like Zero Hour. It's even got a multiplayer vs mode but most of it is cleaning up baddies, rules of engagement and using different methods to complete the mission. For under $30 AUD, seems like a good shout.

some indie videogames I recommend 1. Pentiment (basically a glorified visual novel, light rpg with incredible historical authenticity and attention to detail. Was published by Microsoft, but made by a dozen people, so it fits the "vibe") 2. Hotline Miami 3. Super Hexagon (and its spiritual successor Open Hexagon) (incredible soundtrack, you can play through all of it in 6 minutes, I needed 22 hours)

I really think that you should play katana zero. There hasnt been an indie game that captivated me as much as this game. Really fun and challenging gameplay as well as a well made story for an indie, and it is so, so full of character. If you have played it, you know how good it is.

It is my solemn duty to once again mention Outer Wilds. Best video game of all time, rewired my brain permanently. Know nothing, go in blind, nothing tops it. Plus its DLC is just as good. Also, super obscure but shout-out YOMI Hustle, most mechanically interesting game I've played in ages.

Indie is also defined by the smaller budget and lack of certain features you will find or expect in triple A games like cinematics, voice acting, insane graphics quality, long playing hours and etc. But these are not the hard and fast rule. It's mainly just the budget of the game. So if Rockstar makes say a table tennis game, with a significantly lower budget, it can be considered as an indie.

My top 3 Indie Games are: Gunfire Reborn, Dungeons of Sundaria and Inkbound. Gunfire Reborn is an amazing Roguelike Shooter Dungeons of Sundaria is an incredibly atmospheric oldschool dungeon crawler with rough edges and good gameplay that more games should adopt Inkbound is an excellent Roguelike turnbased game.

Deep rock galactic! You have to play this game, it's so much fun and addictive. Also every update is completely free and comes with a free season pass. An with that I don't mean that you get some stuff for free, no you'll get everything for free. And over the years they added so much more weapons, mission types, cosmetics and all of them made the game just better. DRG is my personal number one indie game. And the devoloper seems to really care for their players and bringing so much fan service to life, like their board game. DRG is a love letter for gaming in my eyes. Rock ands stone!

I quite rarely give real AAA titles a decent shot nowadays and i mostly enjoy indies, however out of your list i have only played Cuphead and The Witness, where Cuphead OST still rocks my spotify list. Acutally music plays a huge role in me liking the game so i can recommend Risk of Rain 2, Rivals of Aether (2 came out recently), Shovel knight, Celeste and The messener as all of those still blast my eardrums to this day. I am also awaiting Hollowknight 2, the first one was a real labour of love. Tibazz

I think Sifu should do a game that is not Sifu 2 but sameish type gameplay; Create your own character, start as a basic nobody, with your character being phrased as great, than smush him/her down to reality and the slow grind to the top starts, Dark Souls style, love it...

I think within the gaming industry, the most common awsner I have seen as to what defines indie is how big the studio who worked on the game is, if only 1 person made the game? Definitely indie. If it's a small group of 3-5 people, probably indie. The more people have worked on it the less it becomes indie and it moves towards like 'Double A' territory etc.

Probably one of the most identifiable things about indie games is that you can tell they weren't made by contractors. Like just look at the art style alone in most of these games. These people made these games because they wanted to and not because they were chained to a desk.

I hope you played Absolver at some point, since you love Sifu so much. Absolver was their fist game and it's so underrated. It's sort of a martial arts souls like game, and fighting enemies teaches you new moves that you can custom chain together to make your own martial art styles. And it has coop so stream??? 👀

dude, Sifu is one of my favorite games ever. The combat is so good and the gameplay is top tier. I wish the game had a little more content bc the Arena mode is not that fun, you don't use your own character, it's always random shit, but anyways. You should do another list of movies!

If you like Curse of the dead gods then you would love Dead Cells. It's amazing. Also, Curse of the dead god is doodoo. There is two combos that work for every combinations of all weapons interchangeably. Mash the weapon that does the most damage, or XXY and XY for weapons that have good status effects. all the status effects can virtually be boiled down to extra damage or character utility. You get a fire weapon, a relic that heals when killing burning enemies, then win.

if you like ready or not, you should try Ground Branch. its like RoN but zero dark thirty seal team 6 special forces. uses unreal engine 4, dx12 dlss 3 fg, slightly more CPU based. weapon and character customisation and they're working on a campaign mode in the future. mainly PvE but has PvP servers i believe. edit: it also has PiP scopes only, so for those with low end CPU's, i'd stick with non-zoom optics.
