I dont know why playmates had to make godzilla looking up while the other two dont it just doesn't look good. When u have them by each other, it looks like they are taking a group photo, and godzilla gets distracted by something in the sky.

I picked up the Playmates Evolved Godzilla and Kong with B.E.A.S.T. Glove figures at my local target earlier tonight. Kong's sculpting and paint is an improvement! I wish Godzilla was not in a pre-sculpted battle pose , but oh well.

Yeah everything I’m seeing of 6inch Kong, hell even Giant Kong kinda frames him as the top performer in terms of paint and details, once again lol I guess Monke is just top dog with playmates. Maybe one day Playmates will do unto Godzilla as they have the Turtles. Or maybe he’s just too long heavy for their hinged legs? Whomst knows. Wouldn’t mind a “Hammond collection” styled line from PM with their Godzilla stuff. Would be quite nice!

Damn Straight! Playmates have come a long way from thier early Shin & Space Godzilla attempts. Damn you teeth whitening strips! Uuuugggghhhh!!! Anyways, im still curious why both versions of the Playmates Battle Roar Godzillas, have rounded & smooth dorsal plate tips, but the other Playmates lines feature regular pointy dorsal plate tips. . . Maybe thier thoughts are younger fans will gravitate towards the sound making toys, but who knows?

They’ve come a vveeerryyyyy long way from the wave 01 rush jobs, for sure! The lack of teeth whitening strips is a massive plus! As for the dorsal fins… that’s a good question. Could be, like you said, with the younger demographic gravitating more towards the sound blasters vs the standard toys. Maybe it’s just a regulation or something. I dunno. Mystery’s of toy making. A fine concept 👀

I was in Books A Million the other day, & picked up my first ever Bandai Movie Monster Series figure, & liked it so much, I went back the next day & picked up 5 more lol. I like the idea of them doing the rubber faces for these battle roar figures honestly. I may not collect PlayMates' stuff but I am on the lookout for the Doug figure I need it so bad, they def seem to have improved their quality with the GxK line. BTW wound up getting the Super7 Destoroyah after seeing your review for him, yeah S7 cooked, well worth the money to me. Glad to finally have an articulated Destoroyah fig

Yeah I'm sorry like most of the playmates actual godzilla figures are pretty awful imo, but I have a feeling playmates use the set budget on godzilla and hand it to kong given there are so many companies making godzilla figures and very little kong merch, because the new regular 6" kong with fallout 4 power fist is INSANE. All new, all solid body, that figure has mass. The face sculpt is incredible and the fact that the body now feels like the arms/legs is like the only thing I wanted to improve, but they went all out. Love it! Now my rant is done, Great review as always.

I had to mention this on Insta, and this is something Playmates needs to fix. Kong's face paint can rub off very easily Not sure if Skar King can suffer this. Just please be careful

@@ShinRobjira Yes, please do, cause my Kong had to suffer sadly. I had to test it, and the pale paint will absolutely rub off super easily. If Skar King's does this too, I won't even bother. I don't mind paint chipping cause that's not too easy to happen, but paint rubbing is not good

Rob, I have a theory on the shma GxK figures, I think the reason they look like the GvK figures is because it’s based off of the start of the movie, so it kinda like in waves, we have these guys, then evolved Godzilla and BEAST glove Kong, then finally shimu and scar king
